2023 geht Star-Komponist LUDOVICO EINAUDI in Deutschland auf „Underwater“-Tour

Normalerweise komponiert Ludovico Einaudi . Mischt in einzigartiger Art und Weise Elemente aus Klassik, Rock, elektronischer sowie Weltmusik – und verschiebt damit ein Stück weit die Vorstellung davon, wie ein Komponist im Allgemeinen „zu sein hat“. Und damit ist der Italiener äußerst erfolgreich: Ein unvergleichlich treues und stetig wachsendes Publikum besucht seine Konzerte, bringt seine Alben verlässlich in höchste Charts-Sphären.

Aber schon seit Jahren treibt ihn die Idee, ganz einfach ein Solo-Klavieralbum zu schreiben, um - er differnziert deutlich zwischen " Songschreiben " und " Komposition ". Nur fehlte das richtige Umfeld: Komplexe Reise- und Terminpläne ließen es einfach nicht zu, sich darauf voll und ganz einzulassen. Der Lockdown änderte das. Und so nutzte er die Gelegenheit, um „ Underwater “ zu schreiben. Das 2022 erschienene Album ist Songwriting in seiner pursten Form: Keine Technik, keine äußeren Einflüsse, nur Ludovico und sein Klavier.

Er selbst beschreibt die Entstehung so: „ Ich persönlich denke, dass ein Vogel, der durch die Lüfte fliegt, auch als Metapher für dieses Gefühl der Freiheit funktioniert. Ich nenne es Songwriting und nicht Komposition, es war ein neuer Ansatz für mich. Beim Komponieren denkt man nach und erforscht, vergleicht und ist ehrgeizig. Wenn man ein Lied schreibt, ist es wie Atmen, die Form ist kurz. Ein Lied ist wie die Schönheit eines einzelnen Atemzugs – eine Welle, die kommt und geht. Es ist schön, wie es ist – es braucht nichts anderes. ”

Und seine Fans lädt er jetzt sozusagen an den Strand, an den diese Welle brandet, ein. Er hat nämlich eine neue Tour angekündigt, die ihn auch nach Deutschland führen wird. Im Juni und Juli wird er in Sankt Goarshausen und Hamburg zu sehen sein. Der Vorverkauf bei EVENTIM startet am Mittwoch, den 22. März um 10 Uhr.

Tickets for the concert by the composer Ludovico Einaudi open today at 11 at the LAC of Lugano. The album Underwater – and the idea for the related tour – was born during the lockdown "when the world outside was still and silent", a period in which the composer immersed himself in a free and borderless space, in a fluid and parallel dimension, without outside interference. The result was twelve pieces for solo piano, short forms, almost songs, written at once on the piano.

Even the sound is the result of research, underlines the artist: “I looked for a precise sound that corresponded to the expression of this music, soft, warm and deep. I wanted a piano that could talk and sing.”

Underwater , released on the Decca label, was released in 2022, after a very significant year for Ludovico Einaudi, which saw the release of the album Cinema with his most famous soundtracks including those of the two most awarded films of the season film, Oscar, Bafta and Golden Globe winners, Nomadland and The Father, as well as the podcast series Experience: The Ludovico Einaudi Story.

Ludovico Einaudi – “Underwater Tour”

Ludovico Einaudi , known for fusing classical music with elements and instruments from modern genres, including rock and electronic music, is coming to Istanbul this February as part of the “Underwater Tour.” The Italian musician, regarded as one of our time’s greatest composers and pianists, will perform on the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage on February 7-8 . The tickets for the second day were sold out months ago, but do not worry; in response to demand, he will also perform on February 7. The tickets are available on Passo’s website . More About the Composer

Born on November 23, 1955, in Turin, Ludovico was introduced to the piano at six by his mother, who was also a pianist. Later, thanks to his elder sister, the composer entered a new world with the most significant figures of the 1960s, including Hendrix, Dylan, and the Stones.

Luciano Berio was Einaudi’s professor at the Milan Conservatory , where he earned a degree in composition. Due to his talents, the artist was awarded a scholarship to the Tanglewood Music Festival in 1982. As a result of this experience, he became more sensitive to the influences of other musical genres, including minimalism, world music, and pop music.

Ballets such as Sul Filo d’Orfeo (1984) , Time-Out (1988) and The Wild Man (1991) by the musician are considered one of the best compositions in the world. Even though the composer felt the effects of the Covid pandemic, he became more potent than ever. He composed music for the Chloé Zhao film “Nomadland, ” which won six Oscars, two Golden Globes, and a Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Einaudi returned to nature with a series of eleven performances in the summer of 2021, immersed in the spectacular beauty of national parks, natural reserves, creeks, valleys, and lakes, accessible only on foot, at dawn, dusk, and under the starry sky. It was an opportunity to combine musical and natural landscape experiences, which then led him to publish his solo piano album “Underwater,” in 2022, “a metaphor for fluidity without external influence.”

The wait is over. After seven years, a string of acclaimed new music, and billions of TikTok views, Italian contemporary classical composer Ludovico Einaudi is heading back to Australia for three performances at Perth Concert Hall.  

From his earliest work composing for theatre and ballet in the 1980s to his multi-million-selling albums like In a Time Lapse and his popular soundtracks across film and television, Einaudi has drawn upon neo-classical, pop, ambient, rock and experimental styles to create a sound that crosses boundaries and generations, becoming the world’s best known – and most streamed – classical music artist in the process. He has performed on an Arctic ice-floe for Greenpeace and has seen his music become the soundtrack for Oscar and Golden Globe winning films ( Les Intouchables , Nomadland , The Father ) and TikTok phenomena (his 2012 track “Experience” exploded on the app) alike.

In 2022, Einaudi released Underwater , his first solo piano record in 20 years, played sold-out shows across Europe and the UK, and was named Best Classical Artist at the 2023 Global Awards.
