Our Founder

Samuel Afari Dartey is a Forest Scientist/Natural Resource Economist who specialized in forestry, wildlife, climate change & environmental sustainability, wood processing and value addition, enterprise development strategies as well as eco-tourism. In his professional career, he has served as a CEO, Board Member and Board Chairman in many organisations in both public and private sector. As an entrepreneur, Samuel Afari Dartey is involved in a variety of businesses spread across multiple industries with his passion for nature forming the core of all his businesses.

Inspired by his experiences travelling Ghana and around the world, he’s been exposed to natural serene environments totally destroyed as well as totally destroyed environments turned into world class serene natural environments. He made a choice to be part of the latter by attempting to “build a world class environmentally conscious hospitality brand that brings people closer to nature”

Very nice place that can really be a good option for families to spend some good time.

My husband and I had the best time of our lives. Services were topnotch. The Food was sumptuous. Water sport was exhilarating. Our butler, Eben was the best. I still can't get over it. Definitely going back with the whole family.

Not a relaxing place to be. Loud music! pool side is very rowdy because of the day time visitors. Not a relaxing experience for me at all! Nothing like I expected. If you are traveling miles for a relaxing atmosphere this is not the place to go.

Service at pool for both drinks and food is horrendous. I asked for a menu and had to wait 0 minutes and 3 prompts later. When I did order food took over an hour to arrive and was stone cold. For the prices this hotel charges I expect very good service, not very poor…

Definitely one of the best resorts I've been to. Very friendly staff, awesome scenery almost everywhere you look plus their food is really good. I think they can improve on their transportation services though (cab services and coach services) it'll help visitors get in and out a lot easier, that was my only challenge.

I loved it at this resort. They have a lot to entertain you with if only you have a lot of money to spare. I loved the scenery. The staff were friendly and professional. It's also a great place for a family getaway. Check out my photos.

Great place for relaxation. Quite romantic and mind soothing, especially in the evening when you see the glow of lights in the darkness all over the open compound. I will visit there a 100 times and would still enjoy it.

One of the nicest resort in Ghana, the environment clean and feeling the African and western culture mixed together. All kinds of fishes in their aquarium. The boat trip to the estuary, fantastic.

Hands down the BEST resort in Ghana! Enjoyed all the activities: board games, horse riding, boat ride, the pool slide. The food was divine Bonfire and live band was just fun fun fun! It’s best to visit on a weekday. It’s less crowded and you get all the attention of staff. I would recommend the group packages or deals to reduce cost I will be back again and again and again.

Friday afternoon buffet lunch lacked variety and was generally just ok. There was no chicken! rated it 6/10 when I was asked if my opinion. Dinner was relatively better. Saturday morning buffet breakfast was great.

Beautiful location. Great supportive staff. A bit difficult to find from the main road. We came as a large group and they were not quite prepared for a large group of students despite our planning and communication. Lots of construction going on over our evening there. Overall, very good food. Beautiful resort. Incredibly flexible and forgiving staff.

Aqua Safari Resort seems surreal… it is simple yet elegant. The staff were friendly and could definitely cook because the meals were EXCELLENT! The rooms were on point,. I don't think I could have ever imagined such a beautiful place built completely with customers mind, the peacocks, geese, donkeys, horses, the water front sports … The pictures attempt to do it justice, but it is nothing like standing on the docks looking out… peaceful and serene. We were very impress…ed by the way one of the supervisors by name Elias at F&B handled our family after a situation during our dinner. His customer service, Professionalism, Ownership displayed to ensure we were comfortable, happy and at peace was on point. Fiifi an the Chef on duty in the same department and the instructors at the water front sports also did well. Thank you all.

High recommendations for the place itself, but getting there is a bit of a challenge for anyone with first-world expectations. The weak spot is the main restaurant's kitchen as it definitely does not do justice to that otherwise perfect weekend getaway spot, but they said they're looking into that, will appoint new crew. Looking forward to see how that goes on my next visit to Accra.

A nice resort in Ghana. The place is very well kept and maintained. The staff is friendly. The bars and restaurants are quite good. The rooms are clean and well kept. It's one of the few resorts in Ghana kept to Western quality standards.

A beautiful resort with a serene environment coupled with lots of activities ranging from boat rides, horse rides, table tennis, swimming and jet ski-ing for the more adventurous person. A great restaurant and buffet with well cooked meals coupled with deserts. Workers are really sociable and helpful. Had a magnificent time there!

Great for family fun, group hangout or even a romantic getaway. They have various water activities, there's jet ski-ing, boat rides, jet packs etc. Their buffet is also quite good. If planning a day trip go for the group packages, they're much cheaper.

This is an excellent beach resort. The staff are courteous and polite, the food is good and the facility is well maintained. It is well patronised by the local community and the styling of the resort is interesting. The location is quite a distance from Accra and this is important because to catch a mid-morning flight you need to wake up very, very, early in the morning leaving the resort before sunrise. However, when you arrive at the Resort, it is worth the trip.

We had a really good time at the resort. We went there for the weekend with friends. The food was good, the accommodation is lovely. The only problem is the cost. It's quite expensive, it's not for the faint hearted. It you enjoy riding on the river then it's an added bonus. There are other forms of entertainment so don't bother if you don't like water.

Beautiful and serene place. There's a cheaper canoe ride option in case you don't want the speed boats or ski jets. Would love to go back for a weekend.

One of the best place to visit when you are in Ghana. It's around 200 kms from Accra. You can book a cab they will drop you. Hotel property is amazing. Food is yummy and you will enjoy. Best time to be at Friday.

It's a lovely place away from the hustle and bustle of the capital. The access road is a bit bumpy and the last 1km road is untarred. The hotel is currently undergoing some face-lift and hopefully I will give it a fresh appeal. It lives up to its name with water, and aquariums all over, together with in house pets (peacocks, pelicans, rabbits, donkeys, ducks, horses etc).

I have decided to make this destination my holiday destination. Always remember to request for a package. I was quite impressed with the front desk staff. They were helpful and quick.

The place is amazing and serene. A good place to work and also have fun: the pool, the boats, jet ski, horse riding and their amazing dishes and drinks at the restaurants. A very good place to appreciate nature and Creation.

I had my honeymoon here and my wife and I have made it a yearly ritual to go there at least once a year. I will recommend this place to anyone who wants a quality, calm and comfortable getaway. A gym would have made it fully complete but I was assured they are working on one so I will give it a 5 star regardless.

Rooms were small but comfortable. Staff polite and helpful but the noise levels are unacceptable for a place that prides itself as a relaxation destination. The music was so loud, the wooden rooms were vibrating! Pack your ear plugs if you want a quiet evening.

Awesome place for a getaway! … It's where man meets nature in a very receptive way. The boat rides are also a quite interesting.

I would have given 5 stars but for some minor issues. Ambience, food, swimming pool, jet ski customer service… All check √√√. However our room had a leaking soap dispenser and d whole sink area was flooded with liquid soap. Overall I think I was impressed at how quickly planks that were out in wooden floor was immediately repaired. Fantastic hotel with great decor and ambience.

Nice place to take a time out. I enjoyed the riverfront scenery, not to mention the boat ride and other activity. It is therapeutic.

It was Heaven on earth at my stay in Aqua safari Resort and set a new top level of holiday which probably cannot be beaten for a very very long time. Uppon my arrival I was warmly welcomed by the receptionist Great service and good food is their hallmark. To the meticulous, comfortable room and spacious bathroom my experience was nothing less than exceptional. Would definetely recommend to everybody. Whatever your preferred treat is: watersports, nature, wildlife boat ridding or exquisite dining…it´s there. It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. Thank you again to the owner for going just that little step extra for their guests!

Seen improvement since my last visit. I couldn't help but notice an improvement with the towels. Customer care could still do with some improvement.

In one word. Amazing. Great architecture, good food, activities for the family and a wide range of rooms and services. Ideal get away location. Just about an hour away from the city.

Classy, and yet not outrageously priced. Offers a wonderful experience. Want a speed boat ride? Or perhaps, a beer by the bonfire at night? How about eating breakfast with a lovely view of the Volta River? Look no further.

Had high expectations based on photos. The resort certainly has a lot of potentials but their main guests are there for conferences — my group got kicked out of the main dining hall because they reserved the area for companies. Even the outside dining area had been booked. The staff didn't direct us where to go — it was very unpleasant experience. Also, the music is absolutely too loud and you can't go to this resort to relax by the pool or anything.

• In case of illness, only the person who is ill will receive a 100% refund. Other participants within the same booking that cancel the tour will not receive a refund unless otherwise decided by the supplier depending on the circumstances.
• No-shows, or if you miss the tour because you are too late, and cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled activity will be charged the full price.
• In case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances the tour will be rescheduled, if rescheduling is not possible or the new time is inconvenient for you, a full refund will be issued.
