Bridgestone Arena visitor guide: everything you need to know

Bridgestone Arena visitor guide

It may only have been built in 1996, but Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena has gone by many names since it was first opened. Originally the Nashville Arena, it then became known as the Gaylord Entertainment Center and Sommet Center.

This is the home stadium of the Nashville Predators National Hockey League team, and the stadium is owned by the team. It was also the location of the NHL draft in 2003 and the NHL All-Star game in 2016.

But in Music City, hockey isn’t the only thing the arena is used for. Bridgestone Arena occupies a prime location in downtown Nashville on Broadway and 5th, and its architectural design pays homage to the legendary Ryman Auditorium .

Bridgestone Arena also hosts many musical events, including the Country Music Association or CMA annual award ceremony. Additionally, this nearly 20,000-seat arena has hosted some of the biggest names in country music, along with performers representing many different musical styles.

Whatever event you are in Nashville to attend, you’ll find it a lot easier to enjoy yourself if you’re not carrying more than you need to. It’s important to know the bag policy of the stadium, but you can save yourself a lot of hassle by leaving your things behind at a convenient Bridgestone Arena luggage storage in Nashville, where your things will be safely looked after until you’re ready to pick them up again.

Bridgestone Arena bag policy

Bridgestone Arena bag policy

Understanding the Bridgestone Arena bag policy will make it much easier to have a pleasant visit, whether you’re attending a hockey game or a concert.

Bridgestone Arena operates a clear bag policy, which means any bag you want to bring inside needs to be transparent so security staff can see what’s inside. Your clear bag can be up to 12” x 12” in size, but no bigger. There is an exemption for medical bags.

Backpacks of any size are not allowed. You can bring a non-clear bag if it’s 6.5” x 4.5” or smaller. Essentially, that’s equivalent to a small purse or wallet.

Security staff have the right to refuse entry if your bags do not comply. The arena advises that trying to get through security with non-compliant bags can cause delays. You should also note that there is no bag storage are Bridgestone Arena, so the best course of action is always to leave your bags behind at a convenient Bounce luggage storage facility.

Bridgestone Arena food policy

The Bridgestone Arena food policy prohibits any outside food or drinks, including but not limited to alcohol. That means if you want to enjoy a drink or a snack with your game or concert, you’ll need to buy it inside.

Fortunately, the Bridgestone Arena food options are quite good. The arena has a food court inside that provides a good range of different places to eat.

For example, Pete and Terry’s Tavern provides a relaxed sports bar atmosphere with big screens, bar snacks, and a great selection of beer on tap. The Barrel House provides a similar atmosphere, while the MGM Sports Lounge provides a more upscale atmosphere with delicious food options and also allows you to indulge in the excitement of betting on the game.

Along with these large establishments, you’ll find a range of smaller kiosks offering classic stadium foods like hotdogs, nachos, popcorn, and pizza. You’ll also find some vegetarian options in the form of wraps and veggie burgers. The food at Bridgestone Arena might not be the healthiest in the world, but it’s certainly satisfying.

How to get to Bridgestone Arena

Bridgestone Arena transportation

Thanks to its extremely central location, it’s not hard to figure out how to get to Bridgestone Arena. The arena is located right across the street from Ryman Auditorium, next to the Country Music Hall of Fame , and right beside the National Museum of African American Music. That means the station is well within walking distance of some of the main attractions in Music City.

It also means parking can be a challenge, especially when there’s a big event in town.

There is public parking at a multistory garage at 5th and Broadway. Bridgestone Arena also has its own parking on 6th Avenue. Plus, the First Baptist Church, located right next to the arena, provides parking during events for $25, which you can book in advance online.

A cheaper option is the Fifth Avenue of the Arts garage which is just a couple of blocks from the arena and can be booked in advance for only $10. Or, you can park at Nissan Stadium for free in Lot R, then take a three-dollar shuttle bus to and from the arena.

Bridgestone Arena public transportation

Because it’s so centrally located, Bridgestone Arena is really easy to reach by public transportation. Bus routes 3, 7, 8, and 18 all stop at the station on Broadway and 8th, just a few blocks from the arena. And if you’re coming into Nashville by train, Riverside Station is also just a few blocks away at the other end of Broadway.

Bridgestone Arena camera policy

The Bridgestone Arena camera policy varies according to the event you’re going to see. For some events, small cameras are allowed. However, it’s a safe bet that no matter what brings you to the arena, you won’t be allowed to bring a professional camera or equipment like a tripod, monopod, or selfie stick inside. Better to leave that equipment in luggage storage near the arena.

Downtown Nashville

Bridgestone Arena rules

Along with the restriction on professional camera equipment and large bags, Bridgestone Arena policies prohibit various other items. These include:

·        Clothing with obscene or offensive images or slogans

·        Banners larger than 2’ x 3’

·        Animals, with the exception of service animals. If you have a service animal that doesn’t fit under your seat, you’ll need to purchase a ticket for the animal to have their own seat.

·        The Bridgestone Arena Covid rules do not currently require the use of facemasks or proof of vaccination for attending events. But these rules can change and tend to follow the guidelines established by the health authorities of the State of Tennessee.

There are plenty of reasons to visit Nashville, and seeing a game or a show at Bridgestone Arena is just one of them. You can also enjoy the best hikes in Nashville , incredible nightlife, or excellent street food .

But however you plan to enjoy this always lively city, don’t forget to leave your bags behind in a convenient luggage storage so that you won’t have to worry about breaking the Bridgestone Arena bag policy.

Visit Bridgestone Arena

Bridgestone Arena may just be one of the most convenient urban stadiums in America, sited right near most of Nashville’s biggest attractions. That means it’s easy to slip in a hockey game on a whirlwind tour of the city, or hit the bars of Lower Broad after catching a sold-out stadium concert. Come to see some of the biggest acts in folk and country, like Mumford & Sons or Kasey Musgraves, or get a completely new perspective on the human body with the death-defying feats of Cirque du Soleil.

Follow the crowds as they wind their way from Riverfront station or downtown’s hotels towards the stadium, which stands right at the corner of Broadway and 5th Avenue in homage to the Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry’s original home. Go straight in, or get there a bit early to partake in the many culinary specialties on offer from the area’s restaurants, from barbecue to upscale Italian.

Join the other fans as they head into the building, which can hold up to 20,000 audience members. Feel the electricity in the air as the game or performance begins, with a state-of-the-art sound system that provides a fully immersive experience. Try out some local brands at the concessions, or just appreciate the action before heading back out into the Nashville night.

Bridgestone Arena is located in downtown Nashville, right near Music Row. Get there from the Riverfront station in 7 minutes on foot. There are a variety of metered parking garages in the vicinity, which sometimes need to be reserved ahead. On event nights, park for free at Nissan Stadium and take the low-priced shuttle. The box office is open from Monday to Saturday during regular business hours, and on Sunday for special events. Check online for bag policies and other security measures.

Reviews of bridgestone arena, 5/5 - excellent.

Easy walk from the hotel. Great atmosphere for a hockey game.

This Hyatt is like a mom and pop place. Don’t expect anything fancy. It was very busy in this area but I like how it was convenient to the interstate.

Plan your u we ahead. The streets get blocked off for concerts and it’s super busy.

Staff at Bridgestone was remarkable. Very helpful, polite and patient.

If heading to the Bridgestone Arena or the general area, go to spothero.com and reserve a parking place. We found one for $10 that was only a block and half from the Arena (which is just around the corner from Music Street). It saved us from any headaches in finding a parking place.

We paid for parking at the Baptist Parking lot through Ticketmaster with our show tickets, but there was no address listed for that parking lot. There were 2 Baptist parking lots, so it was all very confusing. The traffic downtown was horrendous. Allow 2 hours prior to start of show to leave your hotel to find parking and get inside the Bridgestone. We purchased the Patron Dinner inside Bridgestone which allowed us to NOT have to stand outside in the long lines in the heat. We entered at the side entrance, which was a quick bag check and we were in...highly recommend the Patron buffet prior to showtime.

Dubbed the Short n’ Sweet Tour , Carpenter’s upcoming concert dates will support her forthcoming studio album of the same name, which drops on Aug. 23. But shortly after the tour officially went on sale in June, tickets to Carpenter’s 2024 concerts quickly sold out online.

Taylor Swift sings love mashup for Travis Kelce in Amsterdam during Eras Tour

Swift sings "mary’s song (oh my my my)," "so high school" and "everything has changed" for kelce..

tours of bridgestone arena

Taylor Swift wrapped up her final night in Amsterdam singing two never-before-performed-live songs on the Eras Tour, including a love mashup for her boyfriend Travis Kelce .

"I can't believe this but I haven't played this song yet on the Eras Tour so that's fun," she said holding her guitar for the jam-packed crowd inside the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Her pink dress cascaded to the stage and she strummed her guitar. "Hit the ground, hit the ground, oh, oh," she sang and fans cheered as they recognized the first line from "Sweeter Than Fiction." The bonus track from "1989 (Taylor's Version)" was written for the 2013 movie One Chance.

Swift has played every song during the Eras Tour from her albums "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," "1989 (Taylor's Version)," "Folklore" and "Midnights.

She then mashed in "Holy Ground" from "Red (Taylor's Version)."

'I'll be 87, you'll be 89'

"Okay so you get bonus points if you know the words to this one," Swift said sitting down at the piano, "because it's from my first album and I've never performed it on the Eras Tour."

With Kelce cheering from a suite, she sang "Mary’s Song (Oh My My My)" which has the line "I'll be eighty-seven, you'll be eighty-nine, I'll still look at you like the stars that shine in the sky, oh, my, my, my."

This is significant, because as a teenager in Nashville, Swift wrote a song with the numbers 87 and 89. Kelce's jersey number is 87 and 1989 is one of her albums.

If that wasn't a clear enough love message for the Kansas City tight end, she mashed in "So High School" -- a song from "The Tortured Poets Department" that she wrote about him -- and "Everything Has Changed," a love song from "Red (Taylor's Version)."

Almost one year ago on July 8, Kelce attended the Eras Tour in Kansas City. He had a friendship bracelet with his number on it and a dream to get it to Swift. Since then, everything has changed.

The singer-songwriter has 22 more shows left in Europe. She will have a two month break and head to North America in the fall.

Travis Kelce Is Joined by Patrick and Brittany Mahomes at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Amsterdam

Brittany shared a video on social media of Swift performing "22" on the second night of her concerts in the Dutch city

tours of bridgestone arena

Brittany and Patrick Mahomes left a “blank space” in their European travel itinerary for Taylor Swift ’s concert!

The couple was spotted alongside Travis Kelce in a private suite during the second night of the Grammy winner’s Eras Tour stop at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam on Saturday, July 6.

In a video posted by a fan, which was reshared on X (formerly known as Twitter), the trio could be seen swaying near each other in the suite as the “Fortnight” singer, 34, sang one of her hit songs onstage.

Brittany, 28, also shared her own video taken at the concert on her Instagram Stories , including a snippet from Swift’s Red album era. In the short clip, Swift could be seen moving across the stage as she sang “22” in her classic white T-shirt with matching black shorts and a black bowler hat.

A man who sounded a lot like Kelce, 34, could also be heard singing along loudly to the song.

Prior to the concert, Brittany gave some hints that she and her NFL husband were en route to the show by sharing a photo of Patrick, 28, relaxing in a chair while on a private jet. “To our next destination we go,” she wrote over the photo, adding a happy face emoji.

Brittany also shared a look at her outfit for the concert in a boomerang alongside friend Miranda Hogue. She could be seen rocking a bedazzled black button-up top, with her hair styled in a half-up, half-down look.

Brittany and Patrick’s appearance in Amsterdam marks the latest stop on the Mahomes family’s European vacation. In late June, Brittany shared photos of herself, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and their two children — daughter Sterling Skye , 3, and son Bronze , 19 months — enjoying the beaches in southern Spain .

Earlier this week, they appeared to make a stop in Switzerland , as Brittany shared photos of the family of four posing against a backdrop of a beautiful, green landscape and majestic mountains, before she and Patrick attended the Wimbledon Tennis Championship in England on Friday, July 5.

As for Kelce, he attended Swift’s Friday night concert in Amsterdam, inspiring the musician to once again make a lyric change in her song "Karma" to reference him, singing, "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me."

The couple was also captured leaving the backstage area together at the end of the show. A clip showed Kelce encouraging the crowd's cheers before putting his arm around his girlfriend and planting a sweet kiss on her head.

Swift is next scheduled to perform in Switzerland and several other cities before capping off the European leg of her tour in London in August and then returning stateside to perform some shows.
