Why necessary precautions are mandatory?

Uttarakhand is still in the green zone, the government officials have managed to keep the surge in cases limited even after the migrants return and limited tourism opening for people traveling from other states. As a travel and social endeavor it is our duty to keep it that way.

The local villagers are at a delicate situation as they need to rely on economic stability of tourism industry while staying safe from covid exposure. That is the primary reason why it is still taking them time to convincingly take a suitable decision. Hence both the travelers and organizers must work together to make them feel safe while transiting through village / base of a given trek or destination.

  • For all our bookings we will strictly follow the guidelines issued by government sector and manage all tours with hygiene and caution.
  • We have collaborated with hotels and guides who are following the safety and hygiene guidelines diligently.
  • It goes without question that health facilities aren’t up to the mark in most remote villages of Uttarakhand which are base to treks and offbeat destinations.
  • The safety of such villages who remains unaffected by Covid pandemic, is a responsibility we both are undertaking together.
  • We request you to buy all the essentials with yourself before commencing the travel and avoid visiting local shops for last minute shopping.

Online Registrations Open for ‘Char Dham Yatra’ on Uttarakhand Tourism Portal

uttarakhand tourist safety tourism registration website

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Apr 15: The Uttarakhand tourism department announced the initiation of online registration for the ‘Char Dham Yatra’ on Monday through its official portal. Pilgrims can register themselves from April 15 onwards to visit the revered shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.

Scheduled to commence on May 10 this year, the Char Dham Yatra will open with three of the four shrines, namely Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath. The doors of the Badrinath shrine will be opened on May 12.

The Char Dham Yatra holds profound spiritual significance in Hinduism and typically spans from April/May to October/November.

Last week, Chamoli District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana inspected the preparations for the Chardham Yatra at the Badrinath Dham. He emphasized the completion of various works related to infrastructure improvements before the Yatra commences, including sewer line repairs, internal route enhancements, water and electricity provisions, street lighting, vehicle parking arrangements, and installation of signage for passenger convenience.

The high-altitude shrines remain closed for about six months each year, opening during the summer (April or May) and closing with the onset of winter (October or November).

Traditionally, the Char Dham Yatra is undertaken in a clockwise direction, starting from Yamunotri, then proceeding to Gangotri, Kedarnath, and concluding at Badrinath. Pilgrims can choose to complete the journey by road or avail helicopter services. Additionally, some devotees opt for a ‘Do Dham Yatra,’ visiting the Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines.
