The “Maverick” has paid high-flying homage to the monarch.

Screen legend Tom Cruise took the coronation concert of King Charles III to new heights Sunday when he made a surprise appearance in a pre-recorded message.

“Pilot to pilot, your Majesty, you can be my wingman any time,” said Cruise — from the the cockpit of his P-51 airplane, an America-made long-range, single-seat “fighter-bomber” model originally used in World War II.

The pre-taped video was screened over a segment in which former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan, 69, and adventurer Bear Grylls, 48, discussed the king’s military service in the royal Navy and Air Force from 1971 to 1994.

The concert, which was attended by 20,000 people, featured several jaw-dropping performances — but 60-year-old Cruise’s cameo was definitely a showstopper for newly crowned King Charles, 74, and Queen Camilla, 75.

Cruise’s connection to the royal family dates back to 1992 when he and then-wife Nicole Kidman met Princess Diana during the premiere of their Ron Howard film “Far and Away.”

The late Princess of Wales was reportedly a major fan of “Top Gun” and would watch it frequently with her young son’s Prince Harry and Prince William. Kidman and Cruise later attended the princess’s funeral in 1997.

Cruise went on to become friendly with the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip during an event at the Outward Bound Trust in 2017, where he bonded with the late Prince Consort over their love of aviation.

"Mission Impossible" star Tom Cruise took the coronation concert of King Charles III to new heights Sunday when he made a surprise appearance in a pre-recorded message.

Cruise has since taken part in other royal events.

The “Mission Impossible” icon even managed to play a role in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and introduced the Kings Troop Royal Artillery in “A Gallop Through History” at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Cruise has also fostered a new friendship with Prince William, 40, and Kate Middleton, 41, after securing a private screening of “Top Gun: Maverick” after learning the Prince of Wales was a fan of the original 1986 film that spawned the blockbuster sequel.

King Charles III in the Royal Box ahead of the concert at Windsor Castle.

“We have a lot in common,” said Cruise on the film’s red carpet. “We both love England, and we’re both aviators. We both love flying.”

The message comes just one day after the coronation ceremony, which took place on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey.

It marked the official transfer of power to King Charles after the  death of his mother,  Queen Elizabeth II, in September at the age of 96.

Cruise's connection to the royal family began in 1992 when he and then-wife Nicole Kidman met Princess Diana during the premiere of their film "Far and Away."

The coronation was attended by a number of high-profile celebrities such as Katy Perry and Lionel Richie  — who also performed several of their hits at the engagement.

Classical stars such as pianist Lang Lang and opera singer Andrea Bocelli also appeared on the next-day’s classy concert bill, along with a show-capping reunion performance by the Brit boy band Take That.

Prince Harry attended the previous day’s official coronation event without his wife Meghan Markle, which marked his first time back in his native United Kingdom since he dropped his bombshell, tell-all memoir, “Spare,” in January.

In his controversial autobiography, Harry made a slew of nasty comments — and alleged that his brother, Prince William, had “ physically attacked ” him and branded his stepmother, Queen Camilla, as a “villain.”

Moments after Sunday’s historic event, Prince Harry was  already on his way back  to Los Angeles where he celebrated the fourth birthday of his son, Archie.

He spent less than 24 hours in the UK.

Cruise was among several celebrities who participated in the concert at Windsor Castle following the coronation at Westminster Abbey. Performers at the event included Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, the Royal Ballet, Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, opera singer Andrea Bocelli and British band Take That.

Other artists — such as Harry Styles, Elton John, Ed Sheeran and the Spice Girls — reportedly turned down invitations to perform at the concert, citing scheduling conflicts and other reasons.

According to the Associated Press, Richie brought Charles and Queen Camilla to their feet with his performance of the 1983 classic “All Night Long,” while Perry sang her empowerment anthem “Roar” during the extravaganza.

On Saturday, British police arrested a number of anti-monarchy demonstrators protesting Charles’ coronation. The protesters held signs and wore shirts with the rallying cry “not my king” while demonstrating during the royal procession.

“It was a completely peaceful demonstration,” anti-monarchy activist Harry Stratton told the Associated Press .

“It feels like something out of a police state because we still don’t know why anyone’s been arrested, and we still don’t know where they’re taking our people. Britain’s meant to be a democracy, but Charles isn’t treating it like one.”

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

King Charles III's Coronation convert

It was the U.K.’s first coronation in 70 years — a cause even Hugh Jackman, Tom Cruise and Pierce Brosnan had to celebrate.

A star-studded lineup for King Charles III ’s Coronation Concert took to an enormous stage on Windsor Castle grounds, the historic building a shimmering backdrop for a crowd of 20,000 on Sunday night.

In and among performances from Katy Perry, Nicole Scherzinger and Lionel Richie (the latter managing to tempt the king out of his seat for some bobbing to All Night Long ) were video messages of congratulations and “Did you know?” facts about Charles from Hollywood royalty.

“Pilot-to-pilot, Your Majesty, you can be my wingman any time,” Cruise said, filmed doing what he does best — aviators on and in the cockpit of a fighter pilot jet in a sequence that was perfectly Maverick-esque.

And Cruise wasn’t the only action star to feature at the historic event. Ex-Bond Brosnan appeared, albeit also virtually, to talk about Charles’ history as a fully trained Royal Air Force pilot. Jackman waved hello, too. “Your Majesty, a little birdie told me that you’re quite the thespian,” he said after Dame Joan Collins told audiences about the king’s acting chops.

A myriad of famous names popped on stage to add to the already impressive concert bill: Nigerian singer-songwriter Tiwa Savage and Olly Murs sang after a crowd-pleasing Muppet moment where Miss Piggy seemed unable to separate Lord Grantham from the host in front of her, and insisted on staying near.

Sex Education star and incoming Doctor Who Time Lord Ncuti Gatwa acted out excerpts from Romeo & Juliet alongside Call the Midwife ’s Mei Mac, and hundreds of voices from across the Commonwealth sang as part of a choir for the king, who watched from the royal box with Queen Camilla, the Princess of Wales, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The young royals watched as their father made an emotional tribute to Charles’ work.

“Pa, we are all so proud of you,” he added.

World-famous opera singer Andrea Bocelli teamed up with Sir Bryn Terfel, a Welsh opera star, before Paloma Faith joined in on the fun. Stella McCartney made a short statement commemorating King Charles III on his conservation efforts and decades-long environmental campaigning. “He champions hope and action,” the designer said.

The concert was rounded off with a rendition of hits “Roar” and “Firework” by Perry, who herself looked every bit the gilded display of a coronation in shining gold. U.K. veteran boyband Take That closed the show and thanked the king and queen, who in response waved their union jack flags from the royal box.

tom cruise in coronation concert

During the Coronation Concert on Sunday, the Top Gun: Maverick star, 60, appeared in a video cameo, giving King Charles III a shoutout while sitting in a fighter jet.

The concert, hosted by Hugh Bonneville , celebrated the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen. Approximately 20,000 members of the public and invited guests were in attendance, while millions were expected to be watching at home.

Kate Middleton and Prince William 's two eldest children joined the royal family at the concert, continuing the celebrations after King Charles and Queen Camilla 's crowning ceremony took place on Saturday. Tom Cruise tells King Charles: ‘You can be my wingman anytime’

tom cruise in coronation concert

WINDSOR, England — In one of the more surprising moments heralding this country’s new sovereign, Hollywood royalty Tom Cruise assured actual royalty King Charles III that he could be his “wingman anytime.”

The “Top Gun” actor’s message was among the highlights of Sunday evening’s concert celebrating the weekend’s coronation. Some 20,000 members of the public, ticket holders via a lottery, gathered with the royals on the grounds of Windsor Castle — the first time a concert has ever been held here. Many more watched on the telly at home.

They enjoyed an eclectic mix of dance, music, spoken tributes and skits. And there were gasps from the audience during a dazzling drone show, which lighted up the night sky with the colorful outlines of a whale, lion, rabbit, flower and other images.

During Cruise’s prerecorded sketch, a nod to Charles’s training as a jet pilot in his early 20s, the actor flew a small vintage craft through thick clouds. He addressed the new leader with a salute, a greeting that played on huge screens on the castle grounds.

“Pilot to pilot, Your Majesty,” Cruise said, “you can be my wingman anytime.” (Fans hoping to see the actor materialize in their midst were disappointed.)

Charles and Camilla watched the extravaganza from the royal box — probably a welcome change of pace from Saturday, when they were center stage. At one point, with Lionel Richie singing, the couple got up to dance.

In the most emotional moment of the night, Prince William paid tribute to his “Pa” and said the late Queen Elizabeth II was “fondly keeping an eye on us; she would be a proud mother.”

William also praised his father’s charity work and dedication to diversity and the environment. As he spoke, some in the crowd chanted: “You’re next, and you know you are!”

The event was the lesser U.K. concert of the week. The city of Liverpool is hosting the Eurovision song contest, with its finale on Saturday. That concert could be watched by around 160 million worldwide, including Charles and Camilla, who revealed themselves to be Eurovision fans during a recent visit to that city.

Back at this one, it was the likes of Take That — a beloved British band billed as pop “royalty” — that got the crowd going. “Downton Abbey” actor Hugh Bonneville hosted, kicking off things by saying that Charles has a lifelong passion for the arts. “He’s a painter,” Bonneville noted. “An artist. An artist formerly known as prince.”

The range of artists reflected the king’s wide interests. They included the Chinese pianist Lang Lang, the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and Welsh Grammy winner Bryn Terfel. Performing together for the first time was a mega-wattage combination: the Royal Ballet, Royal Opera, Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal College of Music and Royal College of Art.

But there was a lack of A-list British stars to give the concert extra oomph, and no moment was as memorable as the Paddington Bear sketch at Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee last June.

“There wasn’t anything wrong with the performances per se,” wrote the Guardian’s music critic, Alexis Petridis. “But not even a spectacular light show, replete with illuminated drones hovering above Windsor Castle, could distract you from the sense that the show was cobbled together from what they could get.”

Crowd gasps at the drones. #coronationconcert pic.twitter.com/1r4Y6RxBAi — Karla Adam (@karlaadam) May 7, 2023

The event was organized and hosted by the BBC, the taxpayer-funded broadcast entity that constantly panned to the royal box, where Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 8, were seen waving flags and swaying to the music.

One of the standout acts was Katy Perry, who arrived onstage to sing “Roar” as drones formed the lion above Windsor Castle. Charlotte sang and her mom, Catherine, Princess of Wales, danced along as Perry belted out her signature hit. “Gawd bless Queen Katy Perry,” ran a headline in the Evening Standard.

Perry attended the coronation on Saturday as well, wearing a large hat at Westminster Abbey and seeming to briefly struggle to find her seat. The moment quickly turned into a meme.

The fans inside the palace walls were in a jovial mood — joining in loudly on the verses of “God Save the King” and soaking up the atmosphere with the majestic backdrop of Windsor Castle, a favorite home of the late queen.

Paul Truesdale, a 45-year-old nurse, was there to cheer on his fellow choir members as they went onstage with the Coronation Choir, a group of amateur and community singers from across the country. “It’s a moment I’ll never forget,” he said.

There’s still a bit more of royal festivities to come. Monday was made a bank holiday for the coronation and is being billed as the “Big Help Out,” a day when people are encouraged to volunteer in their communities.

King Charles III  ’s coronation concert will feature  Tom Cruise  ! The Top Gun actor as well as Dame Joan Collins , Winnie the Pooh and Sir Tom Jones are among stars who will be appearing “in a series of pre-recorded sketches and segments revealing little-known facts about The King,” according to the BBC .

The Sun reported back in February that Tom had been invited to the King’s coronation . “Tom has been invited to King Charles’ Coronation and there is no way he would have ever turned it down,” a source told The Sun at the time. “It is a hugely prestigious event and Tom is a real royalist — plus he is now close with Prince William and Kate. Tom has told film bosses to shut down the production on Mission: Impossible over the Coronation weekend to make sure he can attend.”

The coronation concert on May 7 will feature Tom Cruise

“It shocked some people on the film, as Tom is so dedicated to his craft and would never normally deviate from his intense production schedules,” the source added. “But something as important — and grand — as King Charles’s Coronation is something he would not want to miss out on. It is a huge thing for Tom to be invited and he is honoured.”

The coronation concert featuring Tom is taking place on the grounds of Windsor Castle the day after King Charles and Queen Camilla are crowned at Westminster Abbey. The lineup of performers includes Take That ,  Lionel Richie ,   Katy Perry   and  Andrea Bocelli . The BBC has said that the concert on May 7 “will celebrate a new chapter in the nation’s history, with themes of love, respect and optimism, celebrating the four nations, their communities and the Commonwealth.”

The Piers Morgan Uncensored host weighs in as Prince Harry is expected to make a quick exit back to America after King Charles coronation.

Tom Cruise, who recently joined the star-studded lineup for King Charles III's upcoming coronation concert, has long-standing ties to the British royal family.

The 60-year-old actor is set to appear "in a series of pre-recorded sketches and segments revealing little-known facts about The King" at the royal event on Sunday, per the BBC.

While the "Mission Impossible" star's participation may have come as a surprise to some, Cruise's links to the royals date back over 30 years.

In 1992, Cruise and his then-wife Nicole Kidman met the late Princess Diana at the London premiere of their romantic drama "Far and Away."

According to royal expert Neil Sean , Cruise and Diana went on to become "chums," and the actor was "devastated" when the Princess of Wales died in a car accident at the age of 36 in August 1997.

"She was a magical person and really engulfed you with her personality," Cruise told Sean.

Cruise and Kidman were among the celebrity guests who paid tribute to the late princess at her funeral on Sept. 6, 1997.

Sean also recalled that Diana loved Cruise's 1986 hit "Top Gun" and would frequently watch the movie on video with her sons Prince William and Prince Harry when they lived at Kensington Palace.

William would later forge his own friendship with Cruise, who held a special screening of his 2022 sequel "Top Gun: Maverick" for the prince and his wife Kate Middleton ahead of the movie's release last May.

Cruise invited the royal couple after learning that William, who previously served as a pilot with the Royal Air Force, was a huge fan of the original film.

The screening was reportedly also attended by other royal family members including William's aunt Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and cousins Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.

Two months later, the Prince and Princess of Wales attended the London premiere of "Top Gun: Maverick" at the invitation of Cruise.

The trio were seen smiling and chatting while making their way down the red carpet, with Cruise even giving Middleton a helping hand as she walked up the steps at Leicester Square.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, Cruise confirmed that he had treated the couple to the early screening.

"He's an aviator, so I knew he would have a lot of fun," the New York native said.

When asked if Cruise, who is a licensed pilot, had flown with William, he told the outlet, "Not yet."

"I'm sure. Pilots are pilots, so we all want to go flying," he added.

The "Mission Impossible" star echoed the sentiments in an interview with the PA News Agency during the premiere .

"We have a lot in common," he said of William. "We both love England, and we’re both aviators. We both love flying,"

PRINCE WILLIAM, KATE MIDDLETON TO ATTEND TOM CRUISE'S ‘TOP GUN: MAVERICK’ PREMIERE IN LONDON

The "Top Gun: Maverick" premiere came days after Cruise played a role in a royal event during the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee. The actor introduced the Kings Troop Royal Artillery at the "A Gallop Through History" Platinum Jubilee celebration at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Cruise expressed his admiration for the queen in an interview backstage at the event, which was held at Windsor Castle. He also shared that he previously bonded with another royal over their mutual love of flying: the late Prince Philip .

While chatting with presenters Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham, Cruise opened up about meeting Philip at the 75th anniversary of the Outward Bound Trust in 2017. The Duke of Edinburgh passed away in 2021 at age 99.

"There was a moment, of course we were talking about pilots, we had to talk about helicopters, and he was telling me the wonderful story of how he got the first helicopter into Buckingham Palace during [Queen Elizabeth II's] coronation," Cruise recalled.

"Fantastic story," he added. "I was this close to going ‘I’d like to land a helicopter, if you ever need someone to pick you up, I've got a helicopter and I think I could put it right there.’"

Cruise told Schofield and Etchingham that it was a "real privilege" to be part of the festivities marking Elizabeth's 70th year on the throne.

"It's a wonderful event," he said. "I'm very honored to be here."

He continued, "She’s just a woman that I greatly admire. I think she is someone who has tremendous dignity and I admire her devotion. What she has accomplished has been historic. I just remember always as a kid seeing photos of her."

Cruise went on to discuss his love for the United Kingdom , noting that he had been making movies in the country since 1982.

KING CHARLES' CORONATION DETAILS REVEALED

"Even before I started producing movies, I would bring them here to England because I just liked the crews and the people and the generations of families that I've worked with," he said.

"I love the history and I just have great respect for her," Cruise continued of the monarch. "So when they asked I instantly said ‘Yeah, it would be my honor. It’s wonderful."

Cruise and the late monarch reportedly became friends in the months before her death. A source told the Times of London in November that the two "really hit it off" over the summer after Elizabeth was unable to meet the movie star at the Platinum Jubilee event due to mobility issues.

"The queen let it be known that she was really disappointed not to have met Tom at the [equine] pageant, so he was invited to have a special tour of Windsor Castle with everything laid on for him," the palace insider purported.

"Afterwards, just the two of them had tea together. She loved seeing him, and they really hit it off, so much so that she invited him back for lunch. He was even allowed to fly in by helicopter."

The outlet claimed that not only did the queen arrange for photographs to be taken of her with Cruise during their private meeting, but he was also permitted to take a shot at firing a ceremonial gun. The queen allegedly gave her new pal "full VIP treatment."

It is believed the pair were expected to schedule a lunch date. However, the meeting never occurred. The queen passed away on Sept. 8 at Scotland’s Balmoral Castle. She was 96.

Tom Cruise, Winnie the Pooh, Nicole Scherzinger Set for King Charles’ Coronation Concert

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

King Charles III ’s coronation is set to be a memorable occasion – if only for the eclectic lineup that will be appearing at a concert thrown in the new monarch’s honor.

The latest stars to be confirmed for the Coronation Concert, which will take place in the grounds of Windsor Castle the day after the historic ceremony, are “Top Gun” actor Tom Cruise, Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger and tubby little cubby Winnie the Pooh.

It will not be the trio’s first brush with royalty, with all three having attended previous royal events. Cruise was a guest at Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997, Pooh was invited to a children’s garden party at Buckingham Palace for Queen Elizabeth II’s 80th anniversary in 2006 and Scherzinger took part in a pageant in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee last year.

For the coronation, which will honor King Charles’ ascension to the throne following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth last year, Cruise and Pooh will appear alongside “Dynasty” star Joan Collins, singer Tom Jones, adventurer Bear Grylls and dancer Oti Mabuse in a series of pre-recorded VTs in which they will reveal “little-known facts about the King.”

Also newly confirmed for the concert are Paloma Faith, Tiwa Savage, Steve Winwood, Olly Murs and club DJ Pete Tong, who will play his Ibiza classics. The concert will also feature world-renowned pianist Lang Lang as well as recent “The Piano” winner Lucy. Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor will also appear on stage to deliver a spoken word performance to introduce the Commonwealth virtual choir.

They will join artists including Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, who were announced earlier this month . “Downton Abbey” star Hugh Bonneville will host the proceedings, which are being produced by BBC Studios.

“I am incredibly honoured to be a part of such a historic event,” said Scherzinger. “The U.K. has been my home away from home for many years now, so this means so much to me to be lending my voice through the gift of song. The piece I will be singing is such a powerful, moving song. And to be sharing the stage with Lang Lang will be a dream come true; a once-in-a-lifetime performance.”

Kate Phillips, BBC’s director of unscripted, said: “I’m delighted that even more world class names have joined the line-up for the Coronation Concert, broadcast live across the BBC. Against the stunning backdrop of Windsor Castle, it’s going to be a jam packed evening of memorable moments, that Their Majesties and everyone in the U.K. can enjoy!”

The King’s coronation will take place on Saturday, May 6. The Coronation Concert will follow on the evening of Sunday, May 7.

Coronation Concert line-up revealed as Tom Cruise and Winnie the Pooh announced

Alongside Sir Tom Jones, adventurer Bear Grylls and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse, Tom Cruise, Winnie the Pooh and Dame Joan Collins will appear in a series of pre-recorded sketches revealing little known facts about the monarch

With just a matter of days to go before the sparkling display of pomp and pageantry of King Charles' Coronation, further additions to the party have been revealed, with some very unlikely stars set to join the line-up.

Tom Cruise, Winnie the Pooh and Dame Joan Collins will feature during the Coronation Concert celebrating the crowning of the King and Queen Consort.

Alongside Sir Tom Jones, adventurer Bear Grylls and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse, they will appear in a series of pre-recorded sketches revealing little known facts about the monarch.

Music acts Paloma Faith, Olly Murs, veteran rock guitarist Steve Winwood, Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger and Chinese pianist Lang Lang have also been added to the line-up.

Among the other new names set to perform are Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, DJ Pete Tong with his Ibiza Classics project, and winner of The Piano TV talent show, Lucy.

Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor will also deliver a spoken-word performance.

While the late Queen's eldest son officially became Monarch the moment she passed away at 3.10pm on September 8 last year, the Coronation will celebrate the beginning of his reign. His wife Queen Camilla will also be crowned.

The event at Westminster Abbey will be filled with royal tradition, with both Charles and Camilla wearing priceless crowns covered in jewels worth millions of pounds.

Members of the Royal Family, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and Prince George, are set to have starring roles.

On the Sunday night of the Bank Holiday weekend, King Charles is putting on a huge Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle.

However, it's been reported that putting together the line-up hasn't been too easy.

A number of big names have reportedly turned down invitations to join, including Sir Elton John and the Spice Girls among the list of those who can't make it. Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran , Adele and Robbie Williams are all said to have said no due to their jam-packed schedules.

However there are still countless big names who could make the list – so it will definitely be a night to remember.

For the Coronation itself, Charles has commissioned 12 new pieces of music. There are six orchestral pieces, five choral and one organ commission. The job of creating the pieces has been given to world-renowned British composers including Andrew Lloyd Webber, Patrick Doyle and Iain Farrington.

Other stars to be announced join the line-up of Take That , Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, plus classical acts including Andrea Bocelli and Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel.

The event on May 7 in the grounds of Windsor Castle will be in front of a crowd of 20,000 members of the public and invited guests and will be broadcast across BBC television and radio stations.

The concert will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer , as well as BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla wave from the Royal Box at the Coronation Concert.

Tom Cruise quotes Top Gun at us

Tom Cruise appears during the Coronation Concert.

More famous person clips. Pierce Brosnan says that King Charles can fly an aeroplane. Bear Grylls says that he can do boats and stuff. And now Tom Cruise is in a plane, quoting Top Gun at him. And this is the best part of the whole evening, by far, because I’ll be damned if I’m losing my cake privileges over a sodding liveblog.

Camilla, on the other hand, is going crazy for this. She’s singing. She’s waving a little flag. This is the most fun she has had in years.

Andrea Bocelli and Bryn Terfel are up next, to shout You’ll Never Walk Alone as loudly as they possibly can.

The Muppets!

Hugh Bonneville, Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog at the Coronation Concert.

Oh hang on, it’s the Muppets. Kermit and Miss Piggy are here. Miss Piggy is currently trying to have sex with Hugh Bonneville. And Prince Charles bloody loves it.

Tiwa Savage at the Coronation Concert.

Next up tonight is Tiwa Savage, singing Keys to the Kingdom, which seems a bit on the nose tonally. I’m not saying that I’m getting fatigued, but I can’t think of a single thing to say about it. Let’s just call it a song and leave it at that.

Behold, the many prancing poses of Olly Murs .

Olly Murs

It’s important to remember this moment. Because one day your grandchildren will gaze into your eyes and ask “Where were you when they did that Zoom karaoke song for the king?” And you will have to look down at them and say “I was reading it about it on a liveblog”. And everyone will feel equally bad about themselves as a result.

Steve Winwood performing at the Coronation Concert.

Now for that Steve Winwood thing. Interestingly, the Commonwealth choir he kept banging on about is a virtual one. What we’re witnessing, basically, is a Zoom meeting.

Lucy Illingworth performing at the Coronation Concert.

Next up, someone from The Amber Trust is playing Bach on the piano. This is because, if I’ve got this right, this is an entire segment in celebration of the king’s watercolour paintings.

Next: a reminder that Charles and Camilla like books. And Tracey Emin says that he likes art: “He’s a very good painter, and there’s a lot of heartfelt emotion in this,” she swoons over one of his watercolours. And Dynamo says that he’s a magician. Sadly the clip ends there, because hopefully Sooty was going to come on next and say that Charles is also a handpuppet of a bear.

Tom Cruise Dances and Grins at Taylor Swift Eras Tour Show in London

tom cruise in coronation concert

By Eve Batey

Tom Cruise

It seemed impossible to top the star power at Friday’s Taylor Swift show at Wembley Stadium, but that was before Tom Cruise —Mr. Impossible , himself—showed up on Saturday at the second London stop in the billionaire singer’s Eras Tour. And Cruise wasn’t the only big name at Saturday’s Swift show, as Hugh Grant , Princess Olivia of Greece , Greta Gerwig , and a number of other stars packed the stadium’s VIP area as Swift sang—and threw shade—from the stage.

Cruise has reportedly lived in London since 2021, making his presence at this show (as opposed to one in, say, LA or New York) less brow-raising than it might otherwise be. And yet, it still feels surprising (did you know he was a Swiftie? I sure didn’t!) that he was there , and that he arrived—as numerous users of social media noted—with a Swift fans' now-familiar handful of DIY friendship bracelets that he traded with his fellow VIPers. Did Tom Cruise make his own friendship bracelets for this thing? Wouldn’t it be wild if he did? ( Vanity Fair reached out to a Cruise representative for more information on his Swift interest, but has not received a response as of publication time.)

Taylor Swift performs onstage during “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” at Wembley Stadium on June 22, 2024, in London, England, UK.

The 61-year-old star was seemingly good-natured even when a huge man in the tent grabbed him by the shoulders and started shaking him about, as was captured in footage shared by fans . It helps, perhaps, that the big guy was Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce , who is also known as Swift’s boyfriend and/or the guy the royal family didn’t want a selfie with the night before.

Actor Hugh Grant, who was also at Saturday’s show, was similarly struck by Kelce’s size and charm. Via X (formerly Twitter), the 63-year-old Grant wrote of his Saturday night concert experience, “Dear @taylorswift13, You have an incredible show, an amazing and v hospitable team and excellent if gigantic boyfriend (#tequilashots.). Thanks so much from one ageing London boy, wife and thrilled 8 year old #halfgirlhalfbracelet." It's a tweet that leaves this correspondent wondering what seemed less likely likely a decade ago: the star of Eyes Wide Shut playing with beaded bracelets, or the star of Four Weddings and a Funeral using hashtags?

Other luminaries at the show included Barbie director Greta Gerwig, who danced shoulder-to-shoulder with Cruise and Kelce; Danny Masterson apologists Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher ; and YA dystopia poster boys Liam Hemsworth and Theo James , among many others.

But the drama wasn’t just in the VIP tent, as Swift went a bit off script to celebrate the crowd, as well as slam her enemies, footage posted to social media shows . As she transitioned into the acoustic portion of her set, Swift said, “I was thinking about getting to play Wembley Stadium. That’s not remotely normal [and] it is so insane for you to [have] done that for me … and for my crew because we get to play Wembley Stadium eight times this summer,” she said, a reference to the Era Tour’s return to England in August.

“You clearly thought this was a good idea [and] you wanted this to happen. Blows me away. I’ll spend forever trying to thank you for that.”

“On the other hand,” Swift continued, “it really makes me think about how every time someone talks shit, it just makes me work even harder and it makes me even tougher. So, it also makes me incredibly thankful for those people.” Swift then launched into “thanK you aIMee,” a song from The Tortured Poets Department widely believed to be a dig at Kim Kardashian , a Swift nemesis since 2006 .

Swift has one more show at Wembley Stadium on Sunday night, and then it’s off to Aviba Stadium in Dublin for a three-show stand from Friday, June 18 to Sunday, June 30.

Fans Loved Video Of Travis Kelce With Tom Cruise At Taylor Swift Concert

T ravis Kelce wasn't the only noteworthy person in the VIP box of the latest Taylor Swift concert on the Eras tour. Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise was there well, and the two seemed to bond pretty quickly.

Kelce and Cruise were both standing together at the concert in London today and both seemed to be having a great time. At one point, someone saw a video of Kelce standing behind Cruise and placing his hands on his shoulders.

Kansas City Chiefs fans went wild with that one, wondering if the two are going to become fast friends. Others just had jokes:

Via @ BBQChiefs  on X:

"I knew Tom Cruise was short, but he looks like a child here," one user joked.

"Tom Cruise & Travis Kelce! Mahomes better be careful. Tom about to take his wingman," wrote another.

"he's so kind for letting short people like tom stand in front of him," a third joked.

"Who's the friend who said Travis can literally go into a room and make friendships with everyone even the wall," a fourth wondered.

Let it never be said that Kelce can't make friends with literally anyone.

Some are already starting to wonder if Kelce has already secured a role in the next Top Gun movie. He certainly has the look for it...

Suri Cruise ‘honours mum Katie Holmes with name change’ after dropping dad Tom Cruise’s surname

Suri Cruise has reportedly dropped dad Tom Cruise’s famous last name (Pictures: Rex / Backgrid)

Suri Cruise has honored mom Katie Holmes with her new name amid strained relations with dad Tom Cruise , it has been claimed.

The teenager made headlines after appearing to publicly drop her famous surname shortly after she turned 18.

According to multiple US outlets, she was listed as Suri Noelle in the program for her high school graduation, which took place last Friday.

Noelle was a poignant choice for the college-bound student , as it is also her mom’s middle name.

An insider claimed that she opted to make the switch as she ‘wants her own identity’ and is hoping for a ‘fresh start’ ahead of her upcoming stint at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University .

‘She is showing praise for her mother by using her middle name,’ they told PageSix , adding that this could help her ‘avoid the paparazzi’.

Katie was also in attendance at the ceremony, while Tom was in London – and was spotted in the crowd at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour performance on Saturday.

It is currently unclear whether Suri has legally changed her name, but her graduation isn’t the first time it has been used.

The outlet claims that she was listed in the playbill for her school’s December performance of The Addams Family: A New Musical as Suri Noelle.

The youngster became an official adult when she turned 18 on April 18 – making us all feel absolutely ancient.

Tom Cruise

Katie and Tom welcomed their only child together in 2006, shortly before they tied the knot.

However, their relationship wasn’t to last and the Dawson’s Creek star filed for divorce at the end of June, 2012, with the former couple signing a settlement a few weeks later.

She is thought to have been granted full custody of their daughter, but the details surrounding their separation have been kept tightly under wraps.

Suri has always shared a close bond with her mom, there have been questions raised about her relationship with her dad – something the family have not addressed publicly.

However, around the time of her milestone birthday, an insider has claimed that there is a rift between the Hollywood star and his youngest child.

Suri Cruise and Katie Holmes

‘Tom does not exist to her,’ a source told DailyMail.com. ‘Suri will not have any contact with her father, despite being 18, and even if he called, she would not answer.

‘He does not exist to Katie or Suri, and his daughter does not want to rely on him for anything.

‘She feels that she has one parent and that is her mother.’

According to the outlet, Tom will no longer be required to pay child support to his ex-wife now that Suri has reached the age of 18, which may sever one of their last remaining ties.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Tom and Katie for a comment.

Tom Cruise was all smiles at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in London Saturday night the day after daughter Suri’s high school graduation in NYC just hours prior.

The “Top Gun” star looked gleeful at Wembley Stadium as he traded friendship bracelets with fans ahead of the singer’s second of three sold-out performances in England’s capital city.

The 61-year-old actor — who rocked dark wash jeans, a white T-shirt and a black jacket — sat among A-list attendees including Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Hugh Grant and “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig.

Cruise appeared to be having the time of his life as he — much like Prince William the night prior — danced along to the Grammy winner’s hit song “Shake it Off” with his famous peers in the VIP tent.

Swift’s beau, Travis Kelce, was also among stars as he attended his second London concert in a row with his brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Kylie .

Meanwhile in the US, Cruise’s estranged 18-year-old daughter graduated from LaGuardia High School the day prior.

A beaming Suri was photographed greeting friends outside the venue shortly after they received their diplomas.

She also eagerly took pictures with mom Katie Holmes, who proudly stood by her daughter’s side on the special day.

The teenager dressed for the heat in a white sundress and heels adorned with a flower.

She completed her summery ensemble with a red graduation robe and white sash.

The 45-year-old “Dawson’s Creek” alum, for her part, looked cheerful in beige pleated trousers and a matching collared shirt.

Cruise’s choice to opt out of the graduation does not come as a surprise, as he has been estranged from the teen for years .

Suri even dropped the “Risky Business” actor’s last name in her school’s official graduation pamphlet, opting instead to go by her first and middle names, “Suri Noelle.”

Cruise confirmed in a 2012 deposition that Holmes divorced him “in part to protect Suri from Scientology.”

Followers of the controversial religion are not allowed to associate with nonbelievers.

Suri — who revealed she will attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh in the fall — did not let her father’s absence ruin her final days of high school.

Earlier this week, she was seen having a blast with her friends as they took pictures before they went off to prom.

Suri looked like a spitting image of her mother in a ’90s-inspired floral gown that featured a corseted bodice.

Holmes and Cruise split in 2011 nearly six years after tying the knot.

The “Mission Impossible” actor shares daughter Isabella, 31, and son Connor, 29, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, whom he separated from in 2001 following an 11-year marriage.

Cruise still spends time with his eldest children as they have followed in his Scientology-practicing footsteps.

While Taylor Swift is bringing over 80,000 people to Wembly Stadium for six nights, she also proves she can bring in the stars, as the Eras Tour is quickly becoming Hollywood's favourite night out.

Here are all the celebs spotted by eagle-eyed Swifties on the second night of the concert.

Mission Impossible actor Tom Cruise has been spotted at the Eras Tour – and even better, he's wearing friendship bracelets.

Perhaps in keeping with the black-and-white theme of The Tortured Poets Department, Tom kept it simple in a jacket and jeans with a white top, but seemed happy to trade bracelets with fans.

He was all smiles as he chatted with fans before heading off to join other stars in the VIP section.

  • Liam Hemsworth

The Australian actor and Hunger Games  star was snapped chatting away in the VIP section.

Rachel Zegler

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes  singer took to Twitter ahead of the concert, writing: "wembley i don’t have any friendship bracelets i am so sorry but if i accrue some we can all trade [sic]." A singer herself, perhaps Rachel will be taking inspiration from Taylor.

Greta Gerwig

The Barbie director has come to check in on singing Barbie, and from her smile she's enjoying it!

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis

Long-time Taylor fan Mila and husband Ashton were ready to dance the night away.

  • Travis Kelce

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce proved he is the ultimate supportive boyfriend and made a return to the show (and even his bodyguard is a Taylor fan).

You can just about make out the Wonka  star in the back of this image, proof that everyone can be a Swiftie.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy

The Channel 4 presenter and journalist confessed to being "quite excited" as he snapped a photo of his ticket outside the stadium.

The presenter was ready for the Eras

Phoebe Tonkin

Best known for her role in The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals or for her oceanic antics as H2O mermaid Cleo, actress Phoebe beamed in the sun as she posed outside the stadium.

Jamie Dornan

Sources report that the Fifty Shades star is also in the audience tonight.

Jason and Kylie Kelce

Ever the supportive family members, Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie came for a second night in a row, with the football star repping some rather impressive merch.

Emily Maitlis

One of the main subjects of the Netflix series Scoop , the journalist and presenter is also rumoured to be in attendance tonight.

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo

Former Made in Chelsea star Jamie has swapped Candy Kittens for cowboy hats as he and wife Sophie enjoyed a night of Taylor Swift. He captioned the joyful shot: "When your wives turn you into Swifties". He also included #traviskelce as a nod to the NFL star's continued support at his girlfriend's concerts. He also made sure to swap a few bracelets with fans.

All smiles!

Peter Phillips

Taylor seems to have many royal fans, as Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips and his new girlfriend Harriet Sperling have also been spotted enjoying the music.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

It's not just Prince William who appreciates the music of pop music's princess – his cousin Beatrice and her husband Edo attended the Eras tour, sharing an atmospheric shot of Wembly lit up.

The couple left little Sienna Elizabeth at home.

Friday night's show also drew in the stars , with Bridgerton actress Nicola Coughlan pictured dancing with Queer Eye's Johnathan Van Ness, also stopping for a selfie with Cara Delevingne .

Of course, Prince William also attended with Princess Charlotte and Prince George, and the royal family stopped by after the show to snap a selfie with the woman of the hour. The future king later took to Instagram to thank the singer for a brilliant night out.
