How To Increase Stash Space In Fallout 76

Fallout 76: all hackable terminal locations & levels, super mario party jamboree release date, boards, minigames, & characters.

Fast Travel is a staple in any open-world RPG and is one of the main transportation methods in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet . The Paldea region is vast, and it can take quite a while to traverse to each destination. This is made easier with the ability to ride on the backs of the Legendary Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon. Later in the games, these pocket monsters also learn more traversal methods, such as dashing, swimming, and gliding. For those that wish to get to their destinations faster, Scarlet and Violet feature Fast Travel.

Trainers will not be able to Fast Travel immediately upon starting their journey. Fortunately, this system is quickly unlocked by finishing the prologue. Players can Fast Travel by opening their map and selecting a blue feather icon. This is similar to the icons for the Corviknight taxi in Sword and Shield . The Fast Travel locations in Scarlet and Violet are spread throughout the Paldea region. This makes moving around the map easy for any player hunting down a specific Pokémon or finishing up a quest.

Unlocking Fast Travel Locations In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Fast Travel in Scarlet and Violet is free and can be used anytime. The only exception is that Trainers cannot use this method when inside a building or other enclosures. As one would expect, players will come across an abundance of Pokémon Centers scattered throughout every significant town, city, or biome. These buildings are also Fast Travel locations and appear as a red icon with a Pokéball in the center. At first, Mesagoza is the only place available on the map, but players can expand their Fast Travel destinations. Trainers will unlock each location by traveling and talking to the NPCs at the Pokémon Centers in Scarlet and Violet .

Before Sword and Shield , traversal was conducted by running, riding a bike, or using a Pokémon with the move Fly. Fast Travel allows Trainers more freedom on their team and opens up exploration. Having this system unlocked after the prologue will enable players to travel to new destinations from the start of the game. Fast Travel can save players plenty of time when moving to different parts of the Paldea region, especially during any of the three main storylines. Trainers looking to complete their Pokédex may instead want to ride on their Legendary. Fast Travel is incredibly useful for players that have a specific order for beating the Gym Leaders in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet . Trainers should take advantage of the free Fast Travel system to enhance their time in the Paldea region.

Sometimes you just miss a prompt or the game forgets to clue you in on a useful mechanic that might not be key to the actual gameplay. Such is the fate of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s fast travel mechanic that many players seem to be having trouble with.

Much like with Pokémon Legends: Arceus and, Sword and Shield before it, players won’t need to rely on a Pokémon that knows Fly in order to soar around Paldea. Instead, Scarlet and Violet implement a new type of Flying Taxi with the local Squawkabilly that let players jump from place to place using their map.

This is unlocked very early during your journey and is a boon for players who want to explore the Pokémon franchise’s first true open-world region. But if you missed the prompt or haven’t played either of the previous titles, you might not know how to access the fast travel mechanic at all.

For those who aren’t looking to run—or ride a Legendary Pokémon—absolutely everywhere, here is how you can ensure you have unlocked fast traveling and how to use the feature in Scarlet and Violet .

How to unlock and use fast travel in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

At the start of your journey through Paldea you will be given a tour of a local academy as a sort of tutorial before the games truly open up to you. This will take quite some time to complete , but as soon as you reach the first Pokémon Center after the intro, you should have access to fast travel.

fast travel violet

Using the Y Button to navigate to your map is the first thing you need to do after reaching this point because from there you should see small blue feather icons dotted around the places you have just been visiting. These are the fast travel markers, which you can select by hovering over them and clicking the A button until you confirm your selection and are whisked away.

You will need to unlock each fast travel maker before you can actively use them, but you can do that just by exploring Paldea on foot or while riding Koraidon/Miraidon.

How to Fast Travel in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

How to Fast Travel in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

While the environments and routes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are certainly great, you can only walk through them so many times before it starts to feel repetitive. After all, you’ve got a Pokemon adventure to undertake, and wasting time retreading old ground won’t bring you any closer to completing it. That’s why you sought out this guide, and are eager to learn how to fast travel in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet . Fortunately for you, we’ve got all the answers you’re looking for.

Do Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Have Fast Travel? Answered

The good news is that you can fast travel in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The better news is that it’s incredibly easy to do.

First and foremost though, you’ll need to unlock it. This is done by completing the game’s tutorial section, which takes place during your tour of the Pokemon Academy at the start of the game. Once this concludes and you reach your first Pokemon Center, you’ll gain access to your map and the game’s Fast Travel mechanic.

You can then Fast Travel at most any point you’ve already visited by going out into an area where the sky is visible, opening your map with the Y button, and then selecting any location with a small feather icon next to it. A flying Pokemon taxi service will then pick you up and take you to your destination of choice.

Like with Pokemon Legends Arceus and Pokemon Sword and Shield, you don’t have to teach a Pokemon Fly to unlock this service either. This makes it a fast and easy to use method of going from point A to point B quickly, and one you should take advantage of whenever possible.

How to Unlock New Fast Travel Points

As for how you can unlock new locations for Fast Travel in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it’s the same as it’s always been in the series.

All you need to do is travel to said locations on foot. Once you’ve done this and successfully entered a location, the option to Fast Travel to it should become available. If it doesn’t then it’s likely because it’s either a secret area that is meant to be reached on foot or because it’s a smaller part of a bigger area that you’ll need to travel to instead.

Hopefully, this cleared up how to Fast Travel in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet . For more on the wider series, check out any of the related articles down below. We’ve also got plenty of other guides related to Scarlet and Violet, including ones on how to restart the games , whether or not there are cars , and how to trade Pokemon with your friends .

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet feature many changes to the existing Pokémon formula. They also feature changes carried over from previous titles like Sword and Shield. Though this includes the removal of some quality-of-life choices players could make , it also includes features that fit very well with the open-world design of these newest games. One feature players might be looking for is the ability to fast travel, either through a flying Pokémon or the Flying Taxi service . The question remains, then — how can players fast travel in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

How Can Players Use the Fast Travel Feature in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Similarly to Sword and Shield, Scarlet and Violet feature the Flying Taxi service. Unlike the previous games, it is unlocked as soon as you can use the Rotom Phone . You’ll still need to actually find new locations and Pokémon Centers to travel to, but the actual process of travelling is easy:

  • Open your map with Y.
  • Move the magnifying glass to a circular wing icon (important location) or a Pokéball icon with a wing next to it (Pokémon Center) and press A.
  • Select “Fly here” and press A again to fly to your destination.

Pokemon-Scarlet-and-Violet-Fast-Travel

And that’s it! Following a short loading screen, you’ll appear at your destination. You might need to make sure you’re not choosing a Flying-type Tera Raid point, as those cannot be travelled to with the Flying Taxi service. You also cannot fast travel if you view the full map by zooming out with ZL. If you do that, points you can fast travel to will not show up on the screen. Fast Travel will be especially helpful early in the game if you neglect to do the Path of Legends, as you’ll be able to quickly visit areas without the help of Koraidon or Miraidon. Enjoy using fast travel to speed up your exploration of the massive Paldea region!

Paldea is an expansive world in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. You'll gain several  moves  to navigate around as you progress and defeat  Titan Pokémon . Thankfully, one ability is granted to you immediately after leaving the Academy on your treasure hunt: the ability to fly. Flying allows you to fast travel to points on the map that you have visited before.

How to Fly and Fast Travel in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

fast travel violet

After choosing a gate to exit from Mesagoza, you'll notice a blue circle icon on your map that appears nearby the gate. The icon will have a white wing inside of it. This icon designates a fast travel point that you can select by scrolling your magnifying glass cursor over the icon and pressing A . You can then select Fly Here from the drop down menu to travel to that point.

Most fast travel points will be Pokémon centers that you have visited. A white wing will indicate those fast travel points with a blue outline in the bottom right corner of the Pokémon Center icon. Remember, you must have traveled nearby the location on foot at least once before you can use fast travel flying to return to a location.

How to Fast Travel in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The Paldea Region is vast. And if you’ve just started your journey, there’s no doubt that its flowing, unbound fields and forests were a Siren call that many trainers weren’t able to resist. Who can blame you? There’s Pokemon out of the whazoo in every direction.

But if you’re a fan of autobattling (or even normal battling) it’s likely it didn’t take long at all for your poor team of Pokemon to get low on health. There are Pokestops littered across Paldea, but they’re scarcely an easy hike back. Even if you jump on your motorcycle-transforming legendary, it can still be quite tedious.

But did you know that you can actually zoom back to any Pokemon Center, landmark, or city you’ve visited in the past? Yep! Pokemon Scarlet and Violet blessedly have fast traveling. And though The Pokemon Company threw every single tutorial in our face (including emotes and how to change our outfits) they didn’t provide this instruction, even though it might be the life-changing mechanic in the game.

If you want to fast travel, Press the Y button on your Switch controller. This will bring up your map. With the left stick, you can move your Rotom-style cursor around the map. Scattered across the map, you’ll see the white wing symbol. These symbols are fast travel points.

Click them, and you’ll be instantly transported across the map. No more enduring the assault of 10,000 Lechonks and Scatterbugs who are determined to throw themselves beneath the wheels of your Miraidon.

Fly free, trainer!

How to Fast Travel in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet Violet Fast Travel cover

Fast Travel is one of the features that players can do, especially when traversing the massive land of Paldea in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It has existed in the previous games via the help of Pokémon that learned the Fly skill, and it was made easier with the recent addition of the Flying Taxi. In the latest game, another fast travel feature has been added that makes traversal much easier.

In this guide, we will talk about the methods of fast traveling in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to Fast Travel in Paldea

After taking a tour of the academy and visiting your very first Pokémon Center, you’ll then be able to unlock the fast travel feature via the Squawkabilly Flying Taxi. Simply open the map by pressing on the Y button, hover your pointer over to a Pokémon Center icon and choose the option to fast travel. Only Pokémon Centers that you have visited at least once can be fast traveled to, which are marked by a wing.

Another location that you can fast travel to are the tall towers that are scattered across Paldea. These towers have around 2 to 3 levels and they usually have a Gimmighoul Chest that you can catch or defeat at the top. Visiting these towers will put a wing marker on your map which will allow you to fast travel to it.

There are also the Ten Sights of Paldea that can be fast traveled to once you’ve visited their markers at least once.

Do I need a Pokémon that knows Fly?

No, the Squawkabillies got you covered. You no longer need a Pokémon that knows Fly nor do you need your Bike-mon to learn how to glide before being able to use the fast travel feature.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Fast Travel Guide – How to Fast Travel

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Fast Travel Guide

Fast travel is a time-saving mechanic and we have seen this mechanic in nearly all of the recent Pokemon titles. The newly released Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is no different and it comes with its own version of fast travel which will allow you to travel quickly around the map. With a big enough map featured in both versions of the game, sometimes you will need to skip all of the traveling and just arrive at the desired location which is where this guide comes in handy. This Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Fast Travel Guide will help you understand how to fast travel in the game easily.

Fast Travel Guide – Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Set in the new Paldea region, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet feature a vast open world that requires quite a bit of trekking if you want to reach some far-off areas in search of a rare Pokemon. Lucky for you, there is a fast travel mechanic in place which will allow you to save some time and quickly reach the area that you want to reach. Before you can actually fast travel to a location, you must first discover that location and personally visit it at least once. This will mark that particular location on your map, and you will then be able to fast travel to it later from any part of the map.

To fast travel, all you need to do is open your map, head to the icon of the location where you want to go and if you see a wings icon next to it, you can fast travel to this location. If there is no wings icon next to this location then you cannot fast travel to this particular location and you will need to find another location near it with the wings icon to fast travel there. You can use fast travel to quickly visit places such as PokeCenters, key town locations such as the Poco Path Lighthouse, or your house at Cabo Poco.

That is all for this guide. If you need more help with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, check out the guides linked below:

How To Fast Travel in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Image of Artur Novichenko

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is a new game from Game Freak released on November 18, 2022. In the game, you, as always, become the new Pokémon Trainer . Players will be able to explore the vast and beautiful region of Paldea . And to cross huge distances you can use the legendary Koraidon and Miraidon . But there are other ways to travel in the game. Therefore, in this guide, we will tell you how to Fast Travel in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet .

Traveling in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

fast travel violet

Often, in Pokemon games, players must explore vast areas. And if, at first, you have fun exploring them on your own, then in the late game, you want to save your time, especially when you hunt for Shiny . Therefore, the developers have added the Fast Travel feature to the latest games of the series. Players had to teach their Pokémon the Fly skill to Fast Travel around the region. And in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet , this feature has become even more convenient.

How To Fast Travel

In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet , players no longer need to learn the Fly skill . Instead, Squawkabilly Flying Taxi takes care of all the worries about the quick delivery of players. And all you have to do is unlock one of the waypoints and then select it on the map for fast travel. There are three waypoints types in total:

  • Pokémon Center – You only need to visit the Center once to unlock it for Fast Traveling . The Pokémon Centers available for Fast Travel are marked with a wing.
  • Towers – Throughout the Paldea region you will find Towers with Gimmighoul Chest on top. After the first visit, the Tower becomes available for Fast Traveling .
  • Ten Sights of Paldea – Everything is simple here. Visit Ten Sights to unlock more waypoints for Fast Traveling .

That’s all you need to know about Fast Traveling in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet . Follow our tips, and you will be able to travel all over the region without wasting much time. And while you are here, take a look at our Pokémon Scarlet and Violet TM Machine guide .

How to Fast Travel in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

' src=

It is to be noted that there has been the removal of a few choices of quality of life that players had. However, features that would fit great with the concept of the open world have been included in the game.

One such feature is the ability given to the players to fast travel. This is done either through a Flying Taxi service or via a flying Pokémon. And hence comes the question: How to fast travel in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? Not to worry, the following guide is here for your help.

How to Fast Travel in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have the feature of the Flying Taxi service. However, contrary to the previous game, as soon as you can use the Rotom Phone, this gets unlocked.

But keep in mind that you would still have to search for Pokémon Centers and new locations to travel. The process to fast travel is relatively easy and can be done in three easy steps.

Follow these steps:

  • Firstly, press Y and open the map.
  • Secondly, shift your magnifying glass to either a Pokéball icon that has a wing beside it, indicating a Pokémon Center or, to a circular wig icon, indicating an important location and press A.
  • Third and lastly, select “Fly here” and press A again. You will fly to your destination.

That is all! A short loading screen will appear, following which you will reach your desired location.

Note: Keep in mind that you do not choose to travel to a Flying-type Tera Raid Point as with the Flying Taxi service, this is not possible.

Also, you can’t fast travel if you have zoomed out to view the full map with ZL, as the points you can fast travel to will not appear.

This feature is highly useful during the early stages of the game if you wish to leave doing the Path of Legends, to quickly take a visit to the areas that too without the help of the Legendary Koraidon and Miraidon.

That is all that we had on how to Fast travel in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

If you think this guide has helped, then let us know in the comment section below. And for more  Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Guides , keep an eye on Frondtech.

That’s all, folks!

How to fix the fast travel bug in the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC

Image of Timothy Monbleau

Ever since launch, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet have had a… notorious reputation for bugs . Errors both big and small have popped up for players everywhere, which can make glitches with relatively reasonable explanations feel distressing. As a prime example, some players have encountered a niche bug in the new Teal Mask DLC that prevents fast traveling anywhere on the map. Sure, you can travel around Paldea just fine, and you can even walk around Kitakami freely if you’re already there. But if you’re already in Paldea and you hit this bug, no more Kitakami for you.

Fortunately, you can fix this fast travel bug by redownloading the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Teal Mask DLC. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Select the Nintendo eShop on your Switch’s main menu.
  • Select “Search/Browse,” and search the store for “Pokemon” .
  • Look for the bundle for the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLCs (make sure it corresponds to your game). Select this.
  • Scroll down and select “Part 1: The Teal Mask” under the section that reads “Downloadable content.”
  • On this page, you should see a “Redownload” button to the right with a cloud icon on it. Press this and you’ll solve this glitch.

Note that, if you’re in Pokemon Scarlet or Violet when you do this, you’ll have to close the game and reopen it for the fix to work. But once that’s done, you’ll have nothing to worry about.

Fast travel bug in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Teal Mask

What causes the fast travel bug in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?

It seems like the most likely culprit is simply transferring Nintendo Switch systems. Even if you slap your game cartridge in your system or redownload the game, it seems you need to reconfirm you own the DLC too. That’s why the above fix works, even if it’s not obvious that that’s causing the problem. Game Freak, am I right?

Either way, at least this one is pretty easy to fix. Get back to your adventures in Kitakami!

Smartphone overheating? Here are 3 ways to cool it down fast (and what not to do)

adrian-kingsley-hughes

The central and northeastern United States are in the grips of a heatwave, with decades-old temperature records being broken and some 80 million people sweating under heat advisories or excessive heat warnings. While we have to put ourselves first, spare a thought for your constant digital companion -- your smartphone.

Also: This ultra-thin power bank I tested is a must-have travel gadget (and it's surprisingly cheap)

Clad in rubber cases, carried in pockets or bags, and left in cradles on car dashboards to cook, it's very easy for smartphones to hit the point where they start to overheat. Once smartphones hit around 95° F/35° C, most devices will throw up overheating warnings, and it's time to cool things down to prevent damage, especially to the battery.

So how do you cool things down fast? Here are three ways to do that.

1. Turn off your smartphone

Shutting down your phone completely stops all running processes, applications, and background services. The upside is that this is the most effective way to cool down your phone quickly because it stops the smartphone from generating more heat. The downside is that you can't use your smartphone while it's off.

Also: The best phones to buy in 2024

Smartphones have a maximum operating temperature of about 95°F/35°C, whereas their maximum non-operating temperature can be as high as 113°F/45°C.

2. Remove the case

Many phone cases, especially those made of rubber or plastic, can trap heat generated by the device and limit its ability to dissipate that heat into the surrounding air. Cases made of black or darker materials can actually absorb heat, making the problem even worse.

Smartphone engineers design the chassis of devices to dissipate heat, and removing any case allows air to flow more freely around the phone, letting it cool as intended.

This simple action can significantly reduce the temperature of a smartphone very quickly.

3. Move it to a cooler spot

Move your phone to a room with a lower ambient temperature. Air-conditioned rooms are ideal because they allow the phone to dissipate heat more efficiently.

Also: 6 reasons why iOS 18 makes the iPhone 16 a must-upgrade for me

Another trick I use is to place your phone on a cool surface, like a wooden table or a cool metal surface. If you have a fan handy, position it to direct a steady flow of cool air to further aid in the cooling process. If you're in a car with AC, place the phone near a cooling vent.

Do not place your phone in the refrigerator or freezer. Rapid temperature changes can cause condensation inside the phone, potentially leading to damaging short circuits or other issues.

  • Limit usage : While cooling down your phone, avoid using it for intensive tasks like gaming or video streaming.
  • Unplug from charger : Charging -- wired or wireless -- generates additional heat, so unplugging it can help reduce the temperature.
  • Don't waste your time on cooling cases : I've tested dozens and there's nothing that I feel is worth recommending. Some even made overheating problems worse.

This ultra-thin power bank I tested is a must-have travel gadget (and it's surprisingly cheap)
