Best Beaches, Rainforest and Islands – 13 Day Flashpacker Adventure Tour

"My boyfriend and I travelled from Brisbane to Cairns with Via travel two weeks ago and had the trip of a lifetime! The tour had the perfect balance of sight-seeing and relaxing so it really felt like a holiday while also seeing and experiencing some amazing places! It was fun, well-organised and stopped at all of the must-see places on the East Coast! Our tour guide, Jason, was friendly and informative and had an outrageous amount of knowledge on everything East Coast, from local knowledge, information about the wildlife, history and culture to restaurant and bar recommendations! His energy kept us going, even when we were tired, and made sure that everyone had a great time! Although everywhere we visited was amazing, some of the highlights for me were Magnetic Island (our favourite!!), which gave us the chance to see koalas, wallabies and lots of wildlife up close and in their natural habitats, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, where we saw incredible aquatic life and coral (an absolute must do!!) and our Indigenous culture experience with Kuku Yalanji tours where we were completely out of our comfort zone but learned so much and got a real insight into local culture. We absolutely loved the small tour group size too, which allowed us to get to know everyone really well within a couple of days and make friends from all corners of the world! The group dinners and nights out that we had were so much fun! Whether you're a nature enthusiast, adventure seeker, or simply looking to explore the beauty of the East Coast, this tour with Via travel is a must-do experience and one that I will be recommending to all of my friends!!"

Exploring New Zealand's incredible scenery

Welcome to Brisbane! Or Meanjin in the language of the Turrbal and Yuggera peoples, who are the Traditional Owners of the land on which Brisbane is now located. Your adventure starts with a welcome meeting at 10 am. After, you’ll drive straight to Noosa Heads – a serene town in Queensland by the sea – where you can grab some lunch, relax on the beach or go shopping in the cute boutique shops. If you’d like, maybe use your free time here to do part of the Noosa Coastal Walk and look out for local flora and fauna. This afternoon, you’ll hit the road again for the coastal city of Hervey Bay, where you’ll spend the night.

Your travel time today will be approximately 3 hours. In Noosa you have time to complete a short walk along the coast if you wish. Choose from the Palm Grove Walk (Grade 3, 1.1km return/30 mins), Noosa Hill Walk (Grade 4, 2.8km return/90 mins), the 300m path to Boiling Point or Dolphin Point (1.2km one way) - both sealed and barrier free.

Dingo on the Beach in Fraser Island

After breakfast this morning, you’ll head to the stunning K'gari (previously known as Fraser Island) by ferry for a day trip. The name change is a major milestone in a long-running campaign by the Butchulla people, whose original name for this place means ‘paradise’ – and you’ll soon see why. Set off on a 4WD adventure through the breathtaking landscape. Start off with an adventurous drive along 75 Mile Beach Road – one of the best coastal drives in the country. Take a refreshing dive into the crystal-clear water of Boorangoora (Lake McKenzie) – an island icon. The lake is world famous for its turquoise colours and delicate white, 92% pure silica sand. Take another dip, this time in the fresh waters of Eli Creek, then visit the Maheno shipwreck and the coloured sands of the pinnacles. From tropical dense rainforest to wild offshore waters, you’ll witness the contrasting fauna and terrain of this truly unique island as you venture across undulating dunes and vast golden beaches in search of the iconic outback creature – the dingo. Tonight, head back to Hervey Bay where you can rest and recharge.

Please note that your day trip to K'gari today is on a join-in basis. Other travellers from outside our Intrepid group may join us.

Activities:

  • K'gari - Full day 4WD tour

Children on Airlie Beach

Enjoy a free day in Hervey Bay today – one of the best sites for observing humpback whales during migration season. If the month is right, maybe spend the morning whale watching on the water, or rent a bike to cycle along the foreshore. Or you could take a leisurely stroll along the water’s edge, go kayaking or just enjoy one of the many gorgeous beaches nearby. Make sure you pick up some snacks for tonight's overnight train journey north on the famous 'Spirit of Queensland', from the train station at Maryborough West to Proserpine, just south-west of Airlie Beach, arriving early tomorrow morning.

Tonight you will take the 'Spirit of Queensland' overnight train to Proserpine. An Australian first, the revolutionary 'RailBed' is a spacious and comfortable seat by day that includes a state-of-the-art personal entertainment system, a 240v power point and a USB point. In the evening, the onboard team convert the seat to a lie-flat bed with all linen provided. The train journey will be unaccompanied by your leader. You'll say goodbye to your first leader at the train station tonight and your new trip leader will meet you at the other end upon arrival of the train in the morning. Please note that throughout the year scheduled railway track works may take place on the route from Hervey Bay to Airlie Beach. If the train happens not to run on your departure you will be driving with your leader instead, with an overnight in or around Gladstone. The total distance is around 900km, taking approximately 10 hours, split across two days. Please note that whale migration season is from July to October. Please choose your departure date accordingly if you would like to take advantage of the opportunity to see whales.

  • Overnight train (1 night)

View of Whitehaven Beach

Your new leader will meet you at Proserpine train station early this morning. Head to their favourite sunrise spot as a group – the best way to start your day – and watch the land come alive. Then, you’ll head for an optional breakfast and caffeine hit at a local café in Airlie Beach. Your day is free to explore this coastal paradise dotted with palm trees. This hub town of the popular Whitsundays has beer gardens, trendy cafes and a lawn-fringed swimming lagoon. Maybe stroll around and explore, visit some local swimming spots for a refreshing dip or find a seat at one of the many bars and watch the sun sparkle on the water. Get to know your new leader tonight with an optional group dinner.

We request that our property in Airlie Beach prepare rooms in time for our arrival. However as we're arriving prior to normal check-in time this isn't always possible. This means we may not be able to check-in immediately on arrival. Instead, we can store our luggage and explore our new destination, or head straight for the pool or the beach. The Coral Beach trail is a Grade 3, 2.2km return/90 min walk in Conway National Park.

Then, hit the water and go snorkelling at Border Island, Dumbell Island or one of the secret spots today's guide will show you. See coral reefs, colourful fish, turtles, clams and other marine life. Then, enjoy an included lunch and take a boat to the southern end of the 7 km stretch of Whitehaven Beach, taking the chance to kick back and relax in the sun after a day of outdoor adventures. Tonight, back in Airlie Beach, maybe head to one of the local bars for a cocktail (or two) and watch the sunset.

The story you’ve been told will come to life as you visit an exhibition of pictures within the historic homestead. Then head out and explore the Mungalla wetlands in search of aquatic birdlife. Drive to Mission Beach this afternoon – a small coastal town with expansive beaches, palm trees and opportunities to explore the Great Barrier Reef. Stop in Tully along the way to stretch your legs, then ask your leader for the best way to spend your night.

Your travel time today will be approximately 2.5 hours.

View of Cairns Lagoon

This morning after breakfast, drive to Millaa Millaa Falls for a nature walk and a quick swim in the cascades. Stop in for lunch at a local cafe near Atherton. Take the Curtain Fig boardwalk to see the iconic tree this park was named after – this park protects endangered mabi forest and a large green fig tree with extensive aerial roots that drop 15 m to the forest floor, forming a ‘curtain’. This afternoon, you’ll drive to Cairns, where your trip will come to an end at approximately 5pm. If you’d like to stay longer, just speak to your booking agent.

Your travel time today will be approximately 4 hours. The Curtain Fig boardwalk is a Grade 2, 180m circuit taking around 10 min. The Lake Eacham circuit track in Crater Lakes National Park is a Grade 2, 3km circuit taking around 1 hour.

Terms and Conditions

Please read our  terms, conditions and cancellation policies  before booking your East Coast itinerary package.

This is not a group tour, so you only travel with whoever you book for. Whether solo, with your partner, friend or group of your choice, spend your downtime how you like and make memories with your tribe!

When you embark on a tour during your itinerary (like your Whitsunday sailing trip or K'gari 4WD), rest assured they will be adventurous backpacker-style trips attracting similar travellers!

This is a semi-guided itinerary, meaning that professional skippers and tour guides lead any time spent on individual tours (like sailboats, 4WD camping tours, reef tours, and the likes). However, the in-between bits like travel days, downtime and free days are up to you.

That means nobody will be waking you up for your early bus or checking into hostels with you, however, it makes your time in Australia undeniably more personalised and flexible. Read more about our semi-guided itineraries in our  FAQs  or chat with a local travel agent to match you with your dream experience.

If you are looking to travel with a group of other backpackers and be guided through every leg of your journey by a local leader, check out our  fully guided group itineraries .

5 breakfasts, 8 lunches, and 5 dinners are included in this itinerary package, all of which are provided during your tours. The rest of the meals are up to you, and you will have plenty of access to bars, restaurants and supermarkets along the East Coast.

Yes, we strongly recommend that travellers purchase their own travel insurance before their East Coast trip. Travel insurance is not included in your package price, and East Coast Tours is not responsible for personal injury, operator cancellations or delays.

We recommend about $60 to $100 AUD spending money per day. This will cover you for a meal in a restaurant, a couple of beers and some supermarket supplies daily. For details on your daily spending budget in Australia, check out our  budget travel guide !

You will stay in a variety of beachfront, poolside and city-centre hostels on this trip. A highlight is definitely your Magnetic Island oceanview hostel! You will sleep in a shared cabin aboard your deluxe Whitsunday vessel. On your K'gari 4WD tour, you'll be spending two nights at your beachside campsite with hot showers and all gear supplied.

Of course! If you prefer some privacy, you can absolutely upgrade to a private room. You will pay the difference from a shared dorm to a private room, and all accommodation is subject to availability. For detailed costs, chat with our friendly travel agents over live chat to secure your space.

This itinerary includes bus transport which is primarily a  Greyhound Whimit Pass . Greyhound Busses are deluxe coaches with in-seat USB charging, wifi, reclining seats, air conditioning and onboard bathrooms. If you wish to upgrade your package, you can book a  rental car or campervan  through our friendly travel experts to go your own way!

Simply chat with our friendly travel agents to personalise your itinerary before you book. We wouldn't blame you for wanting longer in the Noosa surf or Airlie Beach sunshine!

Yes, the dates for this itinerary are flexible. Simply input your preferred arrival and departure dates before booking, or chat with our expert travel agents about your timeframe and we'll make it work for you!

Day 1 Brisbane

Arrive at any time.

Welcome to the “Land Down Under”! Tonight, gear up and get ready for a night out in Brisbane with the group. Enjoy an evening filled with friendly vibes, epic times, and dope views of the city as you sip some local bevvies with your new travel pals by your side.

Exclusive Inclusions:

Day 2 brisbane/noosa.

Escape the city as you journey north up the coast to Noosa. Noosa is known for the balmy sunshine, slow beach days, bright blue skies, rolling waves around every corner. Arrive at our hostel for the next three nights and enjoy lunch before heading out to explore all the area has to offer.

Meals included:

Day 3 noosa to k'gari (fraser island).

On your mark...get set.... go! Travel by private vehicle and ferry with your group to reach K'gari (Fraser Island); for a true Aussie experience. K'gari (Fraser Island) is the largest sand island in the world and the only known place where rainforest grows on sand. In the traditional Butchulla language the name of K'Gari means paradise; think striking blue lakes, crystal clear creeks, giant dunes, and dense rainforests in a place truly unlike any other. Once on the island the group will go for a 4x4 tour, driving along over 100km of beach to get a sense of your surroundings. Then take a swim in Lake Mckenzie, or be on the lookout for wild Dingoes (this is one of the few places in Australia where you are able to see them). Return to Noosa later in the afternoon.

Day 4 Noosa

Enjoy a free day in Noosa by taking in the shops along Hasting Street in search of souvenirs, having a coffee on the beach, or a surf in the Ocean. You can also choose to spend time back at the hostel or participate in some of the optional activities offered in the area.

Day 5 Noosa/Airlie Beach

Wake up and get ready to see some of the most beautiful coastline in Australia. This morning the group will hike parts of the Noosa Coastal Track with stunning views across the water and if you look up you may just spot a Koala or two! We will cross secluded beaches before ending up at Hell's Gate. In the afternoon the group will head to the train station to board an overnight train (get ready to post some ‘grams) as the group travels north to Airlie Beach.

Day 6 Airlie Beach/Whitsunday Islands

Awake as the train pulls to a stop in your next destination. Remember those stranded-on-a-deserted island fantasies that we all had growing up? (no just us?) Either way get ready to relive that castaway dream as you hike to an island lookout over Whitehaven Beach (one of the most famous beaches in the world) and enjoy the views of powdery sand and the Coral Sea’s azure waters. You probably won’t ever want to leave. And you haven’t even gone below the surface yet! After some free time on the beach basking in the sun you'll be off to another secluded tropical island spot where the group will anchor for the night.

Day 7 Whitsunday Islands/Airlie Beach

Expected forecast today is; peace, serenity, paradise, and lots of gorgeous views. You may want to pull out your phone or camera every chance you get, but try to refrain and simply enjoy the moment as you and the group continue sailing through the picturesque backdrop of the Whitsunday Islands. Swim, snorkel, or lounge on the boat deck before sailing to the resort town of Airlie Beach for a night on the town with your best adventure buds! Live it up because let’s face it, how often are you really in this kind of paradise?

Day 8 Airlie Beach/Cairns

With an early morning departure, admire the scenery on the bus ride north to Cairns.

Day 9 Cairns

Cairns is quite the place to visit if you love warm weather (it would be headline news for the city’s temperature to drop much below 20°C (68°F)) and want to visit the Great Barrier Reef. Take advantage of a free day to book one of the many optional activities that will get you out in nature’s playground. Snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef, get that adrenaline pumping by whitewater rafting or skydiving and cap it all off on a Big Night Out in Cairns with your fellow travellers. Drinks all around are well deserved after spending the day escaping your comfort zones.

Day 10 Cairns

Depart at any time.

Itinerary & Accommodation Snapshot

Please check your required arrival time with the office before booking your flights.

Today you will be greeted by our friendly and professional Tour Directors. We then depart Brisbane Airport early this afternoon en route to Toowoomba, situated on the crest of the Great Dividing Range. Toowoomba is the largest non-capital inland city in Australia with a population of approximately 150,000. It is well known for its many beautiful parks and gardens which benefit from the town’s rich volcanic soils.

This afternoon we enjoy a tour of this strong regional city before checking in to the fully refurbished Burke & Wills Hotel for our overnight stay. Meals (D)

This morning we enjoy a wander through Queens Park and visit the Cobb & Co Museum for an informative tour. Leaving Toowoomba, we cross the rich and fertile plains of the Darling Downs before visiting Dalby, home to the largest grain receival depot in Queensland.

We pass through Chinchilla and Miles before arriving at Roma where we enjoy a tour at the Big Rig Oil Patch. Tonight, we stay at the Roma Explorers Inn. Meals (B,L,D)

We continue north into the Carnarvon National Park. An oasis in the heart of Queensland, Carnarvon National Park is characterised by towering white sandstone cliffs and pockets of rainforest. Well known for its incredible abundance of wildlife, the park is home to over 180 species of birds, 90 reptiles, 22 frog species and six species of gliders. It's also a refuge for Australia’s two monotremes, the Platypus and Echidna.

There are numerous guided walks available in the park, depending on your level of fitness. Your guides will help you choose the walk that's right for you. Spot an elusive Platypus on a gentle nature trail or, for the more seasoned walkers, head up the gorge to Moss Garden where water seeping out of the limestone supports a lush carpet of mosses and ferns.

This afternoon we depart Carnarvon Gorge and travel to Emerald, a coal mining town, responsible for the export of over 14 million tonnes of coking and thermal coal each year and home to a number of prosperous gemfields with the industry producing world class sapphires. We overnight at the Maraboon Motor Inn. Meals (B,L,D)

This morning we depart Emerald and head further ‘outback’ towards Longreach. We pass through Alpha, the name being derived from the Alpha Pastoral Station, established in 1863. This was a very large station, dominating the area and growing to more than 1,600 square kilometres by the 1890s.

From here we continue to Jericho and Barcaldine, which played a significant role in the Australian labour movement and the birth of the Australian Labor Party. In 1891, it was one of the focal points of the 1891 Australian shearers' strike, with the Eureka Flag flying over the strike camp. The landmark Tree of Knowledge, under which the strikers met, stood outside the railway station.

We arrive at Longreach this afternoon and spend the next two nights at Saltbush Retreat, a boutique outback lodge. This evening we enjoy a cruise on the Thomson River, followed by dinner on the riverbank accompanied by a talented musical entertainer performing live on Smithy's River Stage. Meals (B,L,D)

Longreach is named after the 'long reach' of the Thomson River on which it is situated. Regarded as the heart of the outback, it is one of Queensland’s most prosperous agricultural regions and one of the founding centres of QANTAS.

This morning we enjoy a tour of the School of Distance Education before visiting the iconic Stockman’s Hall of Fame, opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1988.

Later today we experience the Qantas Founders Museum which houses a Boeing 747 and the airline’s first 707. Enjoy a tour inside both aircraft and wander through this exceptional museum. Meals (B,L,D)

This morning we depart Longreach and head for Winton, stopping along the way to visit the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum. Enjoy a guided tour before arriving into Winton, a town with a rich history and links to the Great Shearer’s Strike, Qantas and Waltzing Matilda.

However in recent years the town is almost as well known for something far more ancient, the Dinosaurs! This afternoon we visit the Lark Quarry Conservation Reserve, containing the world’s only record of a dinosaur stampede.

We overnight at the Boulder Opal Motor Inn in Winton. Meals (B,L,D)

Before leaving town, we enjoy a visit to Winton's Waltzing Matilda Centre. Rebuilt after the devastating 2015 fire, the centre features a world class museum that tells the story of Waltzing Matilda, along with an art gallery and exhibition space. We then continue northwest to Cloncurry, passing by the Walkabout Creek Hotel at McKinlay which featured in the legendary film ‘Crocodile Dundee’.

We continue on to Mt. Isa, arriving mid-afternoon. We spend the next two nights at the Red Earth Hotel, a luxurious boutique style hotel in the centre of town. Meals (B,L,D)

Mt. Isa began as a mining town following the discovery of substantial deposits of lead in 1923. It is now one of the world’s top 10 producers of copper, silver, lead and zinc. This morning we enjoy a town tour before visiting ‘Outback at Isa’ home to a vast array of tourism attractions. First, we'll take an underground tour of the Hard Times Mine. Then visit the unique Riversleigh Fossil Centre which interprets the World Heritage Listed fossil sites at Riversleigh, along with an art gallery, the 'Isa Experience exhibit and a fish hatchery project.

This afternoon enjoy free time to relax at the hotel or stroll through the CBD of Mt. Isa. Meals (B,L,D)

This morning we set our sights east to the outback township of Cloncurry. The Cloncurry River was named after Lady Elizabeth Cloncurry from County Galway in Ireland. It was named by the explorer, Robert O'Hara Burke. Lady Cloncurry was his cousin. When the town was surveyed it took the name of the river.

The first-ever flight of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia took place from Cloncurry on 15 May 1928, using a de Havilland DH.50 aircraft hired from the then small airline, Qantas.

We visit the John Flynn Museum, which In 1928 Flynn established the Aerial Medical Service in Cloncurry which took his caring service to remote homesteads and communities. The display includes some interesting personal memorabilia and explanations of how the whole Flying Doctor system worked in the early days.

Flynn's story is the triumph of an unceasing commitment against huge odds. The museum also records the remarkable work of Alfred Traeger, the man who invented the push pedal radio. We continue sightseeing before checking into the Gidgee Inn Motel and enjoy some true Aussie outback hospitality.  Meals (B,L,D)

Our journey today takes us due north along the Burke Development Road towards Normanton with lunch at the Burke & Wills Roadhouse.

For years, the Burke & Wills Roadhouse has become a strategic stop for travellers. Located on Lot 51 Burke Developmental Road Four Ways Queensland, this roadhouse is just halfway between Cloncurry and the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Due to the vast remoteness, Burke & Wills Roadhouse becomes an essential stop for locals and travellers to break up any journey or for fuel and food. We learn of the expedition in 1860/61 before heading onto Normanton and into Karumba.

Located on the banks of the Norman River, Karumba came to importance in the 1930’s when it became a stop-over point for flying boats on the run from London to Australia. Here we spend the next two nights at the End of the Road Motel. Meals (B,L,D)

Note: Due to the closure of Adel’s Grove we will be spending the next two nights at the End of the Road Motel.

This morning we join one of the last great characters of rail travel - The Gulflander. This historic little train takes us on a journey from Normanton to Critters Camp.

Later, we discover the amazing secrets of the mighty barramundi at The Les Wilson Barramundi Discovery Centre, the only hatchery in the world to breed the Southern Gulf strain of this iconic fish!

This brand new interactive and state-of-the-art Interpretive Centre provides the history, stories, lifecycle, and habits of these sought-after fish.

Later this afternoon we enjoy a special Sand Island sunset dinner cruise in the Gulf. Dine on local seafood while watching a sensational gulf sunset. (Includes wine and beer. Alternative meals are available).

On completion enjoy our second night at the End of the Road Motel. Meals (B,L,D)

Note: Gulflander journey may change subject to operating hours.

This morning we continue on to Georgetown and then head south to Cobbold Gorge, a geological wonderland set on Robin Hood Station. We overnight at Cobbold Village in modern cabins with ensuite bathroom facilities. Meals (B,L,D)

This morning we take part in a 2 hour river cruise on Cobbold Gorge. The gorge stretches for approximately 6 kilometres and consists of a series of waterholes bound by spectacular rocky cliffs. Afterwards, we'll make our way to Undara Volcanic National Park, which protects the longest lava tube cave system in the world. We arrive at Undara Experience and check in to our unique accommodation consisting of restored railway carriages and pioneer huts, all with private ensuite facilities.

Today a local Savannah Guide will take us on a tour through part of the lava tube cave system. Created when the Undara Volcano erupted over 190,000 years ago, the lava that poured out was enough to fill Sydney Harbour three times over. The lava flows lasted a long time, which allowed the outer edge to cool while the interior kept flowing, creating the tubes seen today.

Tonight enjoy dinner in the outdoor style restaurant as an outback sunset fades into a clear starlit night.  Meals (B,L,D)

Departing Undara we begin the final leg of our journey to Cairns. On the way we pass through the scenic Atherton Tablelands and visit the stunning Millaa Millaa Falls. We arrive mid-afternoon and check in to The Shangri-La The Marina . Enjoy luxurious marina-view rooms in this perfectly positioned hotel along the Esplanade.

Tonight, enjoy our final dinner together in the hotel restaurant and celebrate our adventures through Outback Queensland. Meals (B,L,D)

After breakfast enjoy a free morning before being transferred. Meals: B

What you need to bring:

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Warm and cool clothing
  • Insect repellent
  • Most importantly, a sense of adventure!

*Itinerary will depend on the availability of tours and accommodations from your start date.

Q: Is this a fully guided tour?

A: No, this is a combination of accommodation and separate tours that we organise for you. You need to choose how you travel between your destinations whether by bus or driving. You can then choose to have open dated tickets or select a starting date and we’ll organise everything and send you an itinerary!

Q: What kind of accommodation is available to choose from in this package?

There are 3 types of accommodation available with this package (please see below). All accommodation will be in great quality reputable hostels along the East Coast of Australia which we are constantly reviewing to make sure our clients are happy, all hostels will have pools or will be super close to the beach which is why we get great reviews!

Dorm room: This type of accommodation is shared accommodation usually around 6 - 8 persons per room. It will be a bunk bed with linen provided. There are always places to securely store valuables at every hostel.

Double /Twin room:  This type of accommodation is a secure private room with either a double bed or two separate beds, most hostels have private bathrooms connected to the room, though in some cases the bathrooms and showers will be located close by outside the room, still indoors of the hostel. (Please note the double or twin room rate must be booked in multiples of 2).

Single Room:  This type of accommodation is a secure private room with a double bed, most hostels have private bathrooms connected to the room, though in some cases the bathrooms and showers will be located close by outside the room, still indoors of the hostel.

Q: I am a solo traveller, will I still meet people on this package?

A: Yes, for sure! Hostels are very social places, if you stay in dorms it is very easy to strike up conversations with fellow travellers about where and what they have done on their travels! If you are in a private room, just head to the hostel common areas like the bar, swimming pool or tv rooms and you will be sure to meet some fellow travellers! Also, when you are on tours such as Fraser Island, Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef and on the busses you will be travelling with like-minded travellers as well, so it's super easy to meet other travellers!

Q: Can I change anything?

A: Of course, just call or email us and we can organise a custom package in no time and set you on your adventure.

Brisbane to Brisbane 2024: Mum Run founder Tilli Conias signs up entire club to fun run

The founder of Mum Run is so keen on this year’s Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane that she’s signed up the whole club to take part.

Don't miss out on the headlines from Lifestyle. Followed categories will be added to My News.

A Brisbane fitness coach has not only signed herself up for this year’s Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane, but her whole running club as well.

Renown strength and wellbeing trainer Tilli Conias is also the founder of Mum Run, a growing community of Brisbane women who “run, walk and talk” every Sunday.

At the Bridge to Brisbane on September 8 they will be raising funds for men’s health movement Movember, a cause close to Ms Conias’ heart after she lost her father to prostate cancer in 2013.

Mum Run founder Tilli Conias with her kids Marlow, 4, and Norah, 6. Picture: Steve Pohlner

“To be running with my Mum Run community means more to me than I can express. This community is a family – we show up for ourselves but come back every week for each other and that’s what we will bring to the Bridge to Brisbane,” she said.

“The B2B embodies fun, not competition, I’ve never heard so many new runners and walkers wanting to be a part of something like this. It will be a morning of joy, community and together I know so many will achieve something they didn’t think they could.”

Ms Conias has been selected to run for the Movember Global Team in the New York Marathon in November this year, and will be hitting the pavement this week for Global Running Day in her role as a Lululemon ambassador.

Bridge to Brisbane Early Bird entry prices are now available.
