Ah, at last, the Taal Lake and Volcano. Almost everyone who went to Tagaytay City had a picture of them taken with the Taal Volcano in the background. Just a sight of this wonderful creation of nature gives the tourists an unexplainable feeling of relaxation and mesmerization.

Taal Volcano and Lake

From  CNN Traveler

It’s just sad that as of the writing, the Taal Volcano recently recorded a phreatomagmatic eruption in the afternoon of July 1, 2021. This resulted in the evacuation of residents and ultimately the temporary closure of some businesses and restaurants. Usually, there are a lot of activities that can be done in Taal Lake and Volcano, however, visiting it now is not advisable because it poses a legitimate threat to everybody.

Moreover, because of Taal Volcano’s recent eruption last January 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot has changed. Tourists should be aware of current health and safety protocols to avoid unnecessary hassles. Other than that, get ready and have a memorable adventure during your visit to Tagaytay!

You might have read about People’s Park in our blog about the 10 Best Things to Do in Davao City but there’s also another People’s Park that you might need to know if you’re going to Tagaytay.

Aerial view of People's Park in the Sky

The People’s Park in the Sky located in the City of Tagaytay is a park that overlooks the entire city. It is the highest point in the area and it also offers a beautiful view of Taal Lake and Volcano! Though, it was not originally meant to be a park.

Back in 1981, a mansion was commissioned by former First Lady, Imelda Marcos, for the visit of then-U.S. President Ronald Reagan. The mansion was dubbed the ‘Palace in the Sky’. However, the President’s visit was canceled which prompted the construction of the mansion to halt.

Today, it now serves as a park for locals to spend their time in and for tourists to get an amazing panoramic view of Tagaytay. The park includes a chapel, garden, food stalls, and souvenir shops as well as the original mansion. And according to the Tagaytay Tourism Council , the People’s Park offers a 360-degree view of Taal Lake on a good sunny day!

The Taal Volcano's crater with a lake and an island inside of it

Taal Volcano is considered to be one of the smallest volcanos in the world. The area of the Taal Volcano is actually quite interesting because the huge crater has a lake inside of it and within that lake is an island which you can actually visit!

However, you might want to take precautions though because the Taal Volcano is the second most active volcano in the country with around 33 eruptions reported dating back to 3580 BCE. Unfortunately, due to the phreatomagmatic eruption that occurred in 2022, visiting Taal is not advised and it still continues to threaten the lives of the people in the area.

Without the threat though, you can go cruising and boat riding on the lake for Php600 or $11 and even go on a hike too!

11. Our Lady of Manaoag

With most of our blogs that are centered around the Philippines, there is always a church or a cathedral on every list. This list is no exception because the Our Lady of Manaoag Church at Tierra de Maria is yet another church we highly recommend you visit!

The Mother Mary statue at Our Lady of Manaoag

The area has a small church that you could enter if you wish to say a prayer or make a wish but the highlight of this place is the 50-foot statue of Mary, the Mother of God. There’s not much to do here in terms of exciting activities (it’s a church, after all). However, the reason why people come to visit the church is to pray and ask for help for all endeavors, problems, etc.

So, if you’ve got time, you can definitely visit the Our Lady of Manaoag!

To make your trip planning easier, you can use our trusted travel resources to quickly check out the availability of accommodations and get the best discounts on attractions such as Sky Ranch!

Don’t confuse La Bella Boutique Hotel and La Bella Residences like we did. La Bella Residences houses condominium units so if you want to buy a unit, this is where to get it. And just like most condominiums, you’ll find Airbnbs inside.

We booked our La Bella Tagaytay staycation on Airbnb so we stayed at La Bella Residences. The main difference between the two is that guests at La Bella Residences have to pay a P100 fee per person to try the pool.

Swimming Pool

One of the unique things about La Bella Tagaytay is their aquarium-like swimming pool. What do I mean? One part of the pool is completely see-through. You didn’t go to La Bella if you didn’t have your photo taken here. Haha. Here’s mine.

La Bella Tagaytay

Getting your photo taken while trying not to drown and hitting your head on the concrete is hard. LMAO.

Village Market

Construction is currently ongoing. This is just a few meters away from Bodhi Cafe and Library.

The jacuzzi is a bit expensive but if you have the money, go for it! It’s located on the rooftop, so the view you get is just plain awesome. Soak and enjoy what La Bella has to offer. You’ll need to pay P2,000 pesos to have access to it.

You’ll find that La Bella Tagaytay is adorned with several paintings, arts, and crafts. If you’re into arts, you’ll love this place.

Restaurants & Cafe

  • Bodhi Cafe & Library – Love waffles? You’ll want to stay here. Here’s an article that summarizes our experience of Bodhi Cafe & Library.
  • El Cocinero – Their seafood paella is to die for! (Honestly, this is the only meal we ordered. One, because it was expensive. Two, it was their best seller!)
  • Organico Gourmet – We didn’t get to try their food but we heard it’s amazing.
  • Hirasei Japanese Restaurant – Quite expensive. We’d recommend Aozora Japanese Restaurant if you’re into Japanese food.

El Cocinero

What We Loved

We stayed at Happy Soul Santorini Villa and the place is fantastically amazing! I recommend this Airbnb 110/100 if you want a Tagaytay staycation. This article talks more about our stay at this lovely Airbnb.

La Bella Tagaytay

Ryk and I loved how La Bella Tagaytay had everything in it. Well, except for a supermarket, but that’s beside the point. We loved how restaurants are just a few steps away from the entrance of the hotel.

Plus, the trees all over the place gives it a private feel. We stayed during a weekend so we felt as if we had the place all to ourselves.

La Bella Tagaytay

Where to Book & Rates

  • For La Bella Boutique Hotel, here’s where to book discounted rates! (Rates start at P2,300+ and vary depending on your booking date)
  • For La Bella Residences, you can book here. We booked the Happy Soul Santorini Villa via Airbnb. (Rates start at P3,200). Also, here’s a P2,200 discou n t for your first booking on Airbnb when you sign up. The discount only works for new Airbnb users.
  • If you’re on a budget, you can book the Traveler’s Place on Airbnb for as low as  P1,350 per night.

How To Get There

  • Head to SLEX towards Calamba
  • Take exit 38 toward Sta. Rosa
  • Turn right onto Santa Rosa – Tagaytay Rd
  • Turn right onto Tagaytay – Calamba Rd
  • At Tagaytay Rotonda, continue straight onto Tagaytay – Nasugbu Hwy
  • When you reach, Mendez Crossing, you’re just a couple of kilometers away. Landmarks are SM Savemore, Ministop and Jollibee
  • Turn right at the street with the signage of Antonio’s and the Cabana, La Bella Residences
  • Turn left at the street with the signage of La Bella Residences.

Via Commute

  • Ride a bus heading to Tagaytay, Nasugbu, Lian, Calatagan or Alfonso in Buendia or Pasay. You can choose from the CelyRosa, DLTB Co., Alfonso Liner, BSC, or Cavite-Batangas bus liners. Travel time is around 2 hours while the fare is P100+.
  • Ask the driver to drop you off at Radar. From here, ride a tricycle to La Bella for around P30+ (good for up to four persons).

Tips & Reminders

  • Valid ID is required upon check-in.
  • Unfortunately, furbabies (pets) are not allowed. Huhu.
  • Bring your towels when you go to the swimming pool. The pool is open from 8AM to 8PM.
  • Getting out of La Bella to explore the rest of Tagaytay can be a pain especially if you don’t have a car. Ask the guard to contact a tricycle for you.

La Bella Tagaytay: A Santorini-Inspired Hotel and AirBnB in the South

Be one with the nature. Find your inner peace. Connect your mind with your body and soul. Experience a whole new lifestyle in La Bella Tagaytay as it offers you these along with a laid back and posh staycation which doesn’t have to be very pricey.

Located at Brgy. Neogan, Tagaytay City, this 3.8-hectare slice of paradise houses boutique hotel/ condotel, residences and lifestyle homes, wellness center and others that will give you a wholesome experience and that people of all ages would surely love.

About La Bella Tagaytay

La Bella came from the Italian word ‘ Bella ‘ which means beautiful. The name itself is quite appropriate to the place literally and figuratively; literally, because every corner is indeed pleasing to the eye. From the architecture into the interior designs, everything is quite Instagram-worthy. Beyond the colors and the beauty that it offers from the outside, La Bella delivers something essential and beautiful to the lives of its clients since the concept of the whole community itself is much more interesting than what meets the naked eye.

A Manifestation of Wisdom and Advocacy

tourist spot near la bella tagaytay

Borne out of its main developer’s philosophy, Ms. G, a lady who is overflowing with wisdom and good vibes, is passionate about sharing to La Bella’s clients her acquired insights from different people and her life experiences, knowledge and perceptions that she has kept in her heart. One of her advocacy centers on the sound health of the mind and the body. She strongly believes that a healthy mind does not just entail a positive outlook towards life but also a well and active body.

These are quite manifested and reflected in her Bodhi Mind and Body Shop and Library . Aside from this, an organic garden and market (open to the public) and wellness center, still anchored on the advocacy, could also be best enjoyed by everyone.

La Bella Tagaytay: Santorini-Inspired Hotel in Tagaytay

Table of Contents

La Bella Tagaytay

A santorini-inspired hotel in tagaytay, contributed by:  ghie gacula.

la-bella-tagaytay-santorini-inspired-hotel-in-tagaytay

La Bella Tagaytay is one of the newest addition of hotels in Tagaytay City. Known for it’s white and blue color scheme similar to Santorini in Greece, La Bella Tagaytay is one of the most Instagrammable spots you can find in the area.

la-bella-tagaytay-santorini-inspired-hotel-in-tagaytay

💎  Every angle of the hotel is really picture perfect. 💎 The place is really nice. Relaxing ang place. Perfect for a weekend getaway. 💎  Budget-friendly. Got our studio deluxe unit for only 4,000 PHP thru Agoda with breakfast included 💎  Free parking, has 3 restaurants including the Bodhi library, with derma and spa massage in the vicinity 💎  Near Antonios which is a big plus! The food and the ambiance are superb!

Check La Bella Tagaytay rates HERE!

la-bella-tagaytay-santorini-inspired-hotel-in-tagaytay

💎  Yung area is pinakaloob. Parang ang hirap magcommute. Nung galing kaming Antonios madilim na yung daan. Wala ding kaming nakitang tricycle at wala kaming kasabay sa daan. 💎  Since loob nga sya, I suggest bring snacks along with you. May libreng 2 bottles of water at may restaurant sa baba pero di sya open 24 hrs so pag nagutom ka in the middle of the night, need mo pa bumili sa labas which is 5-10 minutes drive pa highway. 💎  I forgot my adaptor, nagask ako sa reception wala daw sila available. 💎  Yung massage spa nila, medyo pricey based sa service. 750 for 1 hr Swedish massage

All pictures are taken using iPhone X and Samsung S9 plus then no filter

Verdict – Nagenjoy kami sa place and will definitely come back!  ❤️  — at La Bella Tagaytay.
