While traveling with your dog can be a ton of fun, it can also be a bit overwhelming — especially if you’re trying to stay organized.

But one tried-and-true trick while traveling with dogs is to give your dog his very own travel bag.

Dog travel bags keep your dog’s stuff all in one place and are usually designed to carry things like food, bowls, toys and anything else your pup might need. That way, you know exactly where everything is when you’re on the go.

But there are a ton of dog travel bag options available online, so how can you find the best one?

The Dodo reached out to Irith Bloom, a certified professional dog trainer and owner of The Sophisticated Dog in Los Angeles, who said the best dog travel bags are ergonomic, lightweight and sturdy — and shared some tips for how to find the best one.

  • Best dog travel backpack overall: PetAmi Dog Travel Bag Backpack
  • Best all-black dog travel bag: Vumdua Dog Travel Bag
  • Best dog travel bag with food storage: Ruff Dog Travel Bag for Supplies
  • Best statement dog travel bag: POPPYPETS Dog Travel Bag
  • Best dog travel bag for safety: Dog Travel Bag Week Away/Overnight Accessories Organizer
  • Best dog travel bag for flying: Top Dog Travel Bag

Dog travel bag benefits

Travel bags for dogs are designed to hold your pup’s supplies, which makes carrying around items like dog bowls and food a lot easier.

And since dog supplies can get heavy, dog travel bags are usually designed to be super easy to carry.

“They are also usually lightweight and have convenient handles,” Bloom told The Dodo. “This makes them easier to use.”

And some dog travel bags are even airline approved, so you can take them as a carry-on while flying.

“Travel bags may even be specially made to fit under an airplane seat more easily,” Bloom said.

How to find the best dog travel bag

When looking to purchase a dog travel bag, look for one that’s lightweight yet sturdy, has comfortable handles and fits airline carry-on requirements (if you plan to use it for flying). And of course, pick one that you like the look of, which will definitely encourage you to use the bag more frequently.

“Look for features that will work well for you — everything from a color you like to a strap or handle that fits your hand well,” Bloom said. “Finally, consider the weight of the bag and its sturdiness … [these] can be conflicting features, but both are important. You want the bag to be as light as possible so it's easy to carry but also sturdy enough to make it through multiple journeys.”

To find a dog travel bag that’s high quality, pay attention to the details. “Check the hardware — especially the zippers — and examine the fabric and seams. If it looks like the bag would fall apart easily, it’s not a good choice,” Bloom said.

If you know you’ll need to feed your dog on the go — like if you’re camping or on a road trip — look for dog travel bags that come with insulated food storage, dog bowls and a water bottle holder. Some travel bags even come with a built-in mat to catch any spills.

Top-rated dog travel bags

dog travel bag

This dog travel backpack prioritizes comfort. Since most dog travel bags have an arm handle, this travel bag is unique in that it distributes the weight of your dog’s supplies on your back, making it a lot easier to carry. It also comes with a whole bunch of other perks, like separate pouches to hold your dog’s food, two collapsible silicone bowls, a water bottle holder and a built-in poop bag dispenser. You can choose from eight fun colors, so you can find one that matches your own luggage!

This all-black dog travel bag is as functional as it is sleek. It has six pockets in total and comes with two separate food pouches that are insulated to keep food fresh. This dog travel backpack includes one large, insulated compartment for your dog’s food that can hold up to 25 cups of kibble at a time. It also has straps if you need to carry a towel, mat or blanket for your dog, which makes it pretty awesome for camping. And this bag is super ergonomic. It comes with comfy leather handles if you don’t want to carry it on your back for long.

This bright pink dog travel bag is definitely a statement piece. And it can be really useful, too. It’s super spacious, comes with a ton of compartments and is airline approved. • A Quick Look at Our Favorites in 2024
  • The 10 Best Dog Travel Bags
  • 1. PetAmi Dog Travel Bag – Best Overall

PetAmi Dog Travel Bag

While backpacks tend to offer more comfort and convenience when carrying them, they don’t offer as much space, compartmentalization, or stability as handled tote organizers like the PetAmi Dog Travel Bag .

The PetAmi comes in a good range of colors and designs and has two main compartments within the bag. One holds the two food containers that are included with your purchase, and the other similarly sized compartment can be used to hold blankets, coats, and other larger items. Multiple pockets also provide space for leashes, toys, and more. As well as the food containers, the bag also includes two collapsible bowls. The whole bag has a capacity of 22 liters (6 gallons), which should include enough room to hold food for a few days, but you may need something larger if you’re going away for a week or more.

The reasonable cost, decent size, and convenient and intelligent compartmental design of the bag make this the best available dog travel bag, but the cloth food containers are a challenge to clean, and the mesh pockets tend to leak their contents when you open the top.

  • Compartmental design keeps everything in place
  • Includes two food storage containers and two bowls
  • Plenty of pockets and compartments
  • Food containers are tricky to clean
  • Top pockets could do with being zippered
  • 2. Bundaloo Dog Travel Bag – Best Value

Bundaloo Dog Travel Bag Accessories Supplies Organizer

The Bundaloo Dog Travel Bag has a very similar design to that of the PetAmi above, but it does have a smaller capacity of approximately 16 liters (4 gallons), compared to the 22 of the PetAmi. However, it is very competitively priced, being one of the cheapest options on this list, and it has some good features.

The main section of the bag holds the included food storage containers and can be used for coats or blankets and leashes. There are also multiple pockets and the top pocket of the Bundaloo is zippered so everything stays in place. This bag also includes two collapsible containers.

It is small and is best suited to small breed dogs for day trips or, at a stretch, a weekend away. If you’re traveling any longer than this, you will need to take additional food in separate containers or use Ziplock bags. However, the low cost and the well-laid-out design make the Bundaloo the best dog travel bag for the money.

  • Very competitively priced
  • Plenty of pockets, including a zippered pocket at the top
  • Includes two storage containers and two collapsible bowls
  • 3. Mobile Dog Gear Dog Travel Bag Deluxe – Premium Choice

Mobile Dog Gear, Dog Travel Bag

Backpacks are more convenient for carrying, which makes them ideal for hiking or camping trips, and also if you have a number of bags to carry. The load is spread across the bag and your hands are left free to carry other bags or to hold your dog’s leash. Although they tend to be smaller than handbags, this isn’t true of the Mobile Dog Gear Dog Travel Bag Deluxe . Its 24-liter capacity means it can carry more than the PetAmi and the Bundaloo above. It includes two food carriers and two collapsible bowls, and it also includes a placemat and is made from heavy-duty polyester to prevent damage and prolong its life.

It does have one large pocket, but if you want something with compartments this deluxe bag may not be the best choice. The design won’t be to everybody’s taste, either, plus the Mobile Dog Gear Dog Travel Bag Deluxe is expensive.

  • The backpack is easy to carry
  • Includes two food containers and two collapsible bowls
  • Hardwearing design
  • Only one pocket
  • 4. ARCA PET Travel Bag

Travel Bag for Dog Backpack

If you’re traveling with a puppy, you don’t necessarily need as much storage space as you do for an adult dog, but you do still need plenty of space for food and bowls, while also having your hands free to be able to walk or, more likely, carry the puppy.

As such, a backpack design is your best option, and this ARCA PET travel bag , with 18 liters of carrying capacity, has enough room for puppy provisions while also being easy and comfortable to carry around. As well as the main compartment, it has pockets on either side, a double pocket on the back, and a pocket and poop bag or wipe dispenser on the front. It also includes one food storage container and two collapsible bowls.

The pockets are convenient, but because there are so many, they do reduce the amount of space in the main compartment of the bag and because you end up packing the main bag itself, there can be a problem with the stitching of the seams bursting. For a small dog or puppy with limited carrying requirements, though, it is a good quality bag for convenient carrying.

  • Plenty of pockets for organization
  • Includes a poop bag dispenser pocket
  • Lightweight and easy to carry
  • Main compartment feels small
  • Seam stitching can burst if the bag is overfilled
  • 5. Higher Level Airline Approved Dog Travel Bag

Higher Level Airline Approved Dog Travel Bag

Taking your dog on a plane means you will need provisions for the journey, and ideally, these need to be on hand so that you can give your dog food and water when required. An airline travel bag needs to be big enough that it can hold everything you need but not so large or awkwardly shaped that it won’t be allowed on as hand luggage.

The Higher Level Airline Approved Dog Travel Bag measures 16 x 14 inches so it will fit under airline seats and should be accepted by all airlines. It includes two waterproof food containers and two collapsible food bowls. It has a large pocket on the front, pockets on either side, and a poop bag dispenser, which can be very convenient when you take your dog for a toilet break outside the airport.

The bag can also sit conveniently over extended baggage handles so it can be stacked on the trolley or while walking. It is a little more expensive than some of the alternatives, and although it can be worn as a backpack it isn’t comfortable to do so, but it is a well-sized bag that is very well suited for taking on airplanes.

  • Airline-approved bag fits under plane seats
  • Include two food containers and two collapsible bowls
  • Can be stacked and carried with other luggage
  • Not comfortable as a backpack
  • 6. Lekesky Dog Travel Bag

Lekesky Dog Travel Bag Airline Approved

The 25-liter (6-gallon) Lekesky Dog Travel Bag is also airline compliant, fits under airline seats, and can be hooked around luggage handles. It has multiple pockets and side pockets, a poop bag dispenser, and includes two food containers and two collapsible bowls. It can be worn as a backpack and its dimensions mean that it is comfortable to do so. This one also comes with a placemat which can be rolled or folded and stored inside the bag when not in use.

If you opt for the gray design, it costs less than the purple bag, too. It is a sturdy bag, rather than one with collapsible sides, and because it retains its shape it is convenient for storing and moving, but something softer might prove more comfortable on the back.

  • Airline compatible
  • Decent price for the gray backpack
  • Includes food storage containers and collapsible bowls
  • Sturdy design not the most comfortable for carrying on the back
  • 7. Tidify Dog Travel Bag

Dog Travel Bag Airline Approved Travel Set

Dog travel bags need to be portable, so they are easy to carry, while still offering enough room to carry whatever you need. The size of the bag you need will ultimately be determined by how many accessories and items your dog takes away, but also by the amount it eats and the length of time you’re going away for.

The Tidify Dog Travel Bag is large, with a 33-liter (8.5-gallon) capacity, and it offers plenty of pockets so that you can organize the items you take, but it is quite cumbersome. It comes with two food containers and two collapsible bowls, and a large front pocket that opens out to provide a feeding mat. It is also reasonably priced, considering what it includes and the size.

The bag includes a first-aid pouch, but this doesn’t include any first-aid items and is really just a pouch with first-aid written on it and a checklist of items to include.

  • Large capacity
  • Good price for the size
  • First-aid pouch doesn’t include any first-aid items
  • May be too large for some
  • 8. Unique Dog Travel Bag

Travel Bag - Dog Traveling Luggage Set

The Unique Dog Travel Bag is something of a luxury travel bag and does cost a little more than most of the alternatives. However, rather than the silicone folding bowls, it has two stainless steel bowls. It also has an elevated dog bowl stand located in the front pocket, and it comes with a first-aid pouch and two food storage containers.

Although stainless steel bowls are better quality than silicone folding bowls, they are very small, and your dog will likely need multiple bowls. Because they are made of metal and don’t fold, they also take up more room than collapsible bowls. The elevated feeder is a unique touch, but it won’t be suitable for aggressive eaters who will easily topple the bowl and cause a mess.

The product is a good idea and has some good features, but it may be more convenient to replace the metal bowls with collapsible ones and ensure that the bag is full when using the elevated feeder.

  • Stainless steel bowls are sturdier than collapsible silicone ones
  • Elevated feeder is good for some dogs
  • Bowls take up more room
  • Bag can fall over when your dog is eating from the elevated bowls
  • 9. Modoker Dog Travel Bag

Modoker Dog Travel Bag

The Modoker Dog Travel Bag has nearly 30 liters (8 gallons) of capacity and multiple pockets, including one bag dispenser. It also has an internal Velcro divider and includes two food storage containers and two collapsible bowls. The travel bag is a little expensive for its size, although you do get all the accessories you need.

Although the bag is sturdy and seems well built, the Velcro divider is prone to moving around and the magnetic pocket sealer also tends to pop open, especially if the bag is full.

  • Includes food containers and collapsible bowls
  • Magnetic pocket catches are prone to popping open
  • Velcro divider is prone to coming loose
  • 10. The Original Doggy Bag Backpack By Rubyloo

The Original Doggy Bag™ Backpack by Rubyloo

If you enjoy taking your dog on day trips or out hiking with you, you will want a backpack that is lightweight and easy to carry. It doesn’t necessarily need the huge capacity that some of the travel bags offer but you can still benefit from the portability of the bag and the convenience of being able to carry food, treats, and other items.

The Original Doggy Bag Backpack by Rubyroo is a backpack with just 18 liters (4.5 gallons) of capacity so it won’t be suitable for weekends away, even, but the single food bag can be used to carry enough for one or two meals, and the two collapsible bowls can be used for water and food. There’s also a treat bag and the backpack has a poop bag dispenser at the bottom, making it easy to grab and go.

The backpack is comfortable and handy for days out, but it is a little expensive for its size and you will want something larger for anything longer than a day out.

  • Easily accessible poop bag dispenser
  • Includes a treat bag
  • Small capacity only suitable for a day out
  • Expensive for its size
  • Buyer’s Guide: Choosing the Best Dog Travel Bags

A dog travel bag is really just a tote bag or a backpack , but it typically includes multiple pockets and maybe an internal wall or compartment that can be used to enhance organization. In most cases, dog travel bags also include collapsible bowls and dog food storage containers, and you can find some that have features like poop bag dispensers or even an elevated feeding platform. Although many of the bags look similar, there are some important features to consider to ensure that you get a bag that is best suited to your requirements and those of your dog.

Caucasian woman walking outdoors with dog jack russell terrier in a special backpack.

There are many types of dog travel bags and general bags available, but the two most common and beneficial are the tote organizer and the backpack. These offer decent storage while still being easy to transport.

  • Tote Organizer: The tote organizer tends to be square or rectangular and has a large internal compartment that is used to store the majority of provisions and items. The design of the bag means that it is typically carried in the hand using two handles, although some do include a shoulder strap and may also have backpack-type straps. These usually offer the most carrying capacity and are especially convenient for putting the trunk or sliding under the seat of a plane.
  • Backpack: Backpacks are convenient because they can be slung over one shoulder or strapped over both shoulders, spreading the weight and making them easier to carry. However, what they offer in convenience and comfort, they tend to lose in capacity and organization. Best suited to day trips and if you need to keep your hands free, for example, to carry a puppy or to hold a dog leash, these are portable and convenient.
  • Dimensions & Capacity

Whatever style of bag, you will need to consider the dimensions and capacity of the bag to ensure that it will carry everything you need. At the very least, a dog travel bag will usually be used to carry food, leashes, and a toy or two. It may also carry a dog coat, blanket, water bottle, and food bowls, according to your activities and how long you are packing for. Up to 30 liters (8 gallons) can be considered a good size for a weekend, or perhaps a few days for a smaller dog breed, and if you need more space than this, you might need to consider alternative arrangements or having an additional storage bag for extra food and supplies.

The vast majority of dog travel bags include collapsible bowls. These are silicone and they concertina down to a frisbee shape. They take up very little room in the bag, but they can be small and they won’t last forever. If you do find a bag that includes stainless steel bowls , these bowls are stronger but they don’t fold down, so they take up a lot more room in the bag. They also have to be quite small to fit in the bag so they won’t hold too much food.

  • Food Storage Containers

As well as food bowls, many of the bags include food storage containers . These enable you to store dry food, are usually waterproof, and negate the need to use plastic bags and other storage methods. Many of the bags on our list above include two containers, which means that you can fill one for a short trip and use the rest of the space for additional storage or fill both if you are away for a few days.

  • Poop Bag Dispenser

While food bowls and containers are quite commonplace, one feature that is less prevalent is a poop bag dispenser. These take the place of a small pocket. You can put a roll of poop bags inside and then pull a single bag from the dispenser, as needed, so you don’t have to open the bag and search for the roll every time.

woman holding a used dog poop bag

While most of the bags have large central bags that can be used to hold a selection of items, you will usually find at least one external pocket as well. External pockets are handy for keeping items that you need quick access to, like a leash or treats. And, you can even put your car keys in one of the pockets, as long as it has a zipper or other secure fastening.

  • Do You Need a Dog Travel Bag?

A dog travel bag is really just a standard bag with compartments and other storage solutions, as well as the usual inclusion of travel bowls . If you have a decent backpack or another bag that offers enough room, you don’t really need to buy a separate, dedicated dog travel bag. However, in the same way that a lot of new parents have dedicated changing bags, having a go bag for your dog so that it is ready to travel or head out with you whenever you want, is a good idea.

PK paw divider

There are a surprising number of dog travel bags available, including both tote and backpack designs, and with a wide variety of dimensions and volumes. There are those with travel bowls and even one or two with permanent stainless-steel bowls.

Above, we have included reviews of 10 of the best dog travel bowls and found the Petami Dog Travel Bag to offer the best compromise of capacity and portability at a reasonable price. For value hunters, though, it is the Bundaloo Dog Travel Bag that appeals, although it is quite a small bag and may only be suitable for dogs with small appetites.

10 Best Travel Bags for Dogs – 2024 Reviews & Top Picks

Nicole Cosgrove Profile Picture

Updated on Jan 25, 2024

Dog is waiting for the owner on the railway platform

Packing smarter can make all the difference when loading up an overflowing trunk or trying to avoid a checked bag at the airport. But while you worry about making all your stuff more manageable, don’t forget that there’s likely a better solution for your canine traveling companion, too. If you’re still relying on a spare backpack or, worse yet, a plastic bag to carry your dog’s gear, you’re ready for the convenience of a dog travel bag.

With a bag designed for your pet, no space goes to waste. You’ll find dozens of clever designs to carry around your dog’s accessories, with many including on-the-go travel bowls to keep your pup content at each stop. You have numerous excellent options to consider and to help you cut straight to the most worthwhile products, follow our reviews of the ten best travel bags for dogs.

A Quick Comparison of Our Favorites in 2024

The 10 best travel bags for dogs, 1. mobile dog gear week away tote pet travel bag – best overall.

Mobile Dog Gear’s Week Away Tote is the ultimate travel bag, adding more unique features than the average carrier while using almost the same amount of space. With the larger option having two food bags capable of carrying up to 30 cups of kibble, it can handle everything from a weekend trip to the lake to a week-long out-of-town vacation.

Jet setters enjoy comprehensive features to facilitate travel with their pets. Like many dog travel bags, it meets most airline carry-on measurements, and the collapsible bowls and placemats fold up into the bag, storing efficiently to make feeding your dog quick and pain-free at every stop.

While the bag generally has a quality build, the only issue many consumers had involved the zippers easily breaking. Otherwise, the design is practical and effective. Several mesh pouches around the outside provide easy access and organization for frequently needed items. The Mobile Dog Gear bag makes the journey with your dog effortless and worry-free, earning our pick for the best overall travel bag for dogs.

  • Large food bag capacity
  • Several mesh storage pockets
  • Includes ID tag
  • Zippers break easily
  • Not water-resistant

2. PetAmi Dog & Cat Travel Bag – Best Value

The PetAmi Dog & Cat Travel Bag is the best travel bag for dogs for the money; it’s a low-priced, high-quality, and fully functional tote for all of your dog’s belongings. The storage pockets aren’t as numerous as those on some alternative bags, and it doesn’t have the plastic mat for the collapsible bowls, but there’s little you’ll miss out on otherwise with this airline-friendly carrier.

Rather than mesh pockets, the PetAmi bag’s exterior storage compartments use the same water-resistant Oxford covering, keeping all your accessories safe when caught in the rain. The only slight knock against the pockets involves the interior mesh pocket, which lacks a zipper and lets loose items fall out when opening the case.

  • Water-resistant outer cover
  • Leak-proof lining
  • Several color options
  • No mat for bowls
  • Inner mesh pocket doesn’t zip

3. Mobile Dog Gear Weekender Backpack – Premium Choice

The stylish and multi-functional Mobile Dog Gear Weekender Backpack keeps all your puppy’s materials easily accessible. Collapsible food bowls accompany a fold-down non-slip feeding mat and two food bags with space for up to five cups each.

With the undersized capacity, this bag is primarily for smaller dogs. But if you have a weekend getaway or camping trip planned, it could be the perfect solution for any pet. Small touches, like the quilted outer cover, dog bone ID tag, and built-in waste bag dispenser pocket at the front of the pack, elevate the design and enhance the comfort.

  • Waste bag dispensing pocket
  • Fashionable quilted cover
  • Small food bag capacity
  • Limited color options

4. Rubyloo Dog Travel Bag – Best for Puppies

Rubyloo’s The Original Doggy Bag™ promises to make travel more fun with its patented design and 100% lifetime warranty backing the well-built traveler. The water-resistant cover comes in five colors (including a cool camo print), has two collapsible bowls, and includes two food carriers that hold eight cups each.

The Rubyloo dog travel bag is comfortable to carry and supplies some of the best storage features to keep your items handy and secure. Alongside the removable primary compartment divider, you get a front pouch with a zippered pocket, a bottle storage side pocket, a mesh rear pocket to hold a couple of frisbees, and a side pocket with a waste bag dispenser.

  • Ample storage compartments
  • Waste bag dispenser
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Only one available size
  • Not ideal for larger dogs

5. Modoker Dog Travel Bag

The Modoker Dog Travel Bag leaves nothing out, ensuring you have the organization, flexibility, and dependable design you need to travel with confidence. Two closable front pockets join a mesh pocket covering the luggage sleeve, an elastic travel bottle side pocket, and a dual-zippered side pocket, letting you quickly retrieve tissues or dog waste bags.

While the water-resistant pack has plenty of features, a few minor issues prevent it from being the perfect travel bag for dogs. The small containers only fit a total of about 10 cups of food. It’s only ideal for short outings and weekend trips unless you have a small dog. The magnetic buttons on the front pocket also have more potential to come undone, so you must be careful about how you pack.

  • Versatile storage compartments
  • Zippered tissue/bag compartment
  • Small food containers
  • Magnetic clasps are less secure
  • Food bowl colors are random

6. Top Dog Pet Gear Dog Travel Bag

Top Dog Pet Gear’s Dog Travel Bag covers all the essentials at an excellent price point. Two food pouches carry 6.5 cups of food a piece, which is a relatively small amount compared to some other listed items. But if you have a small–medium dog, it could suit you perfectly for an entire week.

Everything is here except the bag dispenser and placemat for the bowls. A spacious magnetic front pocket accompanies a mesh back pocket, an elastic banded water bottle side pouch, and a zippered side pocket on the exterior. Inside the bag, the Velcro divider compartment divider and zippered mesh pocket efficiently store toys, grooming accessories, food, and more.

  • Relatively inexpensive
  • Ideal size for small–medium dogs
  • No placemat for bowls

7. Teamoy Dog Travel Bag

The Teamoy Dog Travel Bag sets itself apart by adding an extra storage section for dog owners who aren’t enjoying enough organization from the traditional travel bag design. Sitting above the primary storage area is a compartment containing a large, zippered mesh pocket under the lid and three additional mesh pockets, giving you four more places to organize your dog’s leashes, toys, grooming tools, and other small items.

The substantial storage space should make you feel confident bringing dogs of any size on a multi-day excursion. And with the larger bag having containers capable of holding close to 30 cups of food, it provides plenty of room for your dog’s kibble and treats.

  • Extra storage compartment
  • Large food containers
  • Zippers prone to breakage

8. BAGLHER Dog Travel Bag

Quality combines with a hint of fashion in the BAGLHER Dog Travel Bag , featuring a durable, water-resistant Oxford outer cover in 12 unique color and print options. Available in two sizes, it has an ample food storage system for several days of adventures and an efficient arrangement that keeps it from feeling bulky.

While the overall construction quality is stout, the BAGLHER loses a few points for its small bowls, which are unlikely to suit a large dog, and the missing exterior rear pocket. Although it has a luggage sleeve, the bag lacks the wide pocket many packs feature, taking away substantial storage opportunities.

  • Durable build
  • Several unique colors and designs
  • Good food storage capacity
  • Small bowls
  • No rear pocket

9. ARCA PET Travel Backpack

The ARCA PET Travel Backpack is comfortable and classy, a compact, lightweight, and easy-to-carry pack that conveniently organizes your dog’s necessities. A single waterproof container efficiently stores up to 15 cups of food, and 11 unique pockets across the interior and exterior offer separate storage for all kinds of equipment. Although it isn’t as spacious as some other packs, it’s one of the easiest to haul around for a day or two.

  • Several storage compartments
  • Comfortable to carry
  • Relatively small capacity

10. beka. Dog Travel Bag

You won’t have to worry about forgetting a thing with the beka. Dog Travel Bag . Two large food storage containers can hold several days’ worth of food for even the heaviest dogs, and the added compartment up top gives you the extra pockets you need to keep all your pet’s items organized. Although the bowls may be too small for a large dog, the overall construction quality and thoughtful features make this one of the best values of any dog travel bag.

  • Only one size available

Buyer’s Guide: Choosing the Best Travel Bags for Dogs

Dog travel bags generally follow similar formulas to the point that you can expect certain features from nearly any product. Totes have food containers, collapsible bowls, and luggage sleeves, while almost every primary compartment uses a Velcro divider. In many areas, manufacturers try not to tinker with what already works. Still, there are a few ways you can distinguish travel bags and make the best choice for your dog and traveling style.

Keeping all your dog’s toys stored comfortably in your bag is a top goal for any owner. Checking the bag’s dimensions and capacity will ensure you can pack everything you need for a multi-day outing.

Some bags offer their internal storage capacity in liters for you to compare. But you can also glean a certain amount by comparing the bag’s exterior dimensions. Sizing is critical for planning your traveling as well. Although most bags are airline-friendly, the slight variations in sizing could be the difference in whether you can add that extra towel or hair brush.

Food Storage Containers

Food storage containers are water-resistant, lined pouches that typically come with travel bags for dogs. They have handles and wipe down easily with a damp cloth. Although the design doesn’t change much, the capacity will, with some capable of holding enough food for over a week and others only handling less than a weekend’s worth.

The number of cups of food that will fit in each container can vary slightly depending on the kibble size. If you can’t find the capacity for the food bags, you can compare their dimensions to get a rough idea of how much they’ll hold.

Two bowls typically come with the pack, with some including a folding placemat. The collapsible bowls usually consist of BPA-free silicone, compressing in for easy storage in the bag, though you can find some bags with bulkier, non-collapsible bowls made of lightweight stainless steel. Plastic bowls should also have a hook hole for a carabiner. Regardless of whether the pack includes the small carabiners, the hanging loop allows you to store your food bowls on the bag strap hook to free up space inside.

If you have a larger dog, prioritize travel bags with wider bowl sizes. Too many consumers buy a pack without considering their 100-pound dog’s needs in this department and end up with an enormous challenge getting them to eat out of undersized bowls. While small dogs can eat out of almost anything comfortably, a 5-inch-wide dog dish won’t be feasible for a dog with a large snout. The bowl size is one reason Mobile Dog Gear’s bag shines: it has 7-inch-wide square bowls.

Special Features

Dog travel bags can sometimes seem like the same product with different labels. The best travel bags for dogs subscribe to similar tried-and-true versatile features, but with a closer look, you can find notable differences beyond the bag’s size.

  • First aid kit (these usually do not contain the first aid materials)
  • Poop bag/wipe dispenser
  • Feeding placemat
  • Treat pouch

Don’t discount the importance of the color, either. Fitting alongside the rest of your luggage, dog travel bags should ideally be an aesthetic match. If the detailed specs aren’t overly critical to your decision, explore the surprising array of bag colors, patterns, and prints to personalize the look and create your style.

Types of Packs

You have two essential styles of dog travel bags available : a tote or a backpack. Totes generally offer the most capacity, exterior storage pockets, and convenient access to anything you need due to their squat and wide shapes. You will usually have three transporting options: a carrying handle, removable shoulder straps, and a sleeve to fix the bag around the pull-up handle on your rolling luggage. A tote is ideal for multi-day trips and the most convenient for storing in a car’s trunk or on an airplane as a carry-on or personal item.

Backpacks are generally taller than they are wide, meaning you may have to go digging if you leave a toy at the bottom of the bag. Exterior storage pockets are often more limited in size and amount. Still, you’ll get many of the same essential features that totes have, such as the collapsible food bowls.

While totes are superior to backpacks for functional storage, backpacks are the most comfortable and convenient. If you plan to go on hikes or short weekend getaways and want to keep your gear on hand without it being cumbersome, a backpack is the way to go.

With a well-rounded set of features, including ample storage capacity, large bowls, and a sturdy build, the Mobile Dog Gear Week Away travel bag will reliably suit dogs of any size and offer the ultimate travel experience. For those looking for great deals, PetAmi and Top Dog deliver affordable, high-quality designs, while Modoker and BAGLHER supply a slew of colorful packs to help you stay fashionable. Follow our shopping tips and reviews of the best travel bags for dogs to ensure your next trip goes off without a hitch.

Ratings & Reviews

This bag is large enough for me to use when I'm travelling with my two dogs.

Love the color.

Wish it had a cup.

Seriously love this thing. Easy to carry. Tough enough to endure curious hounds.

Deep enough to avoid spills. Good size in that it holds enough for a few days but not too heavy.

This will easily hold a couple weeks of food and pack down smaller as the trip goes on. Perfect.

I love this so much I bought another for my 2nd Mia. When Meg travels there is plenty of room for a weeks worth of food. The inside is kinda divided so you can put any paperwork, treats, and meds away from the food. It rolls down for a clip to close and then carry. You can put their Name on the front with instructions. Love love love.

I bought this for my Service Dog So when we go away on trips, we’re going away on a trip this weekend and personally I haven’t used it yet, but I taken a look at it. It’s very spacious and hold my other dogs.

The Spruce Pets / Lecia Landis

The best dog food storage containers have an airtight seal that keeps your dog’s food fresh, locks in odors, and prevents pests like rodents and ants from getting inside and helping themselves. The right container can ward off spoilage from moisture, heat, or exposure to air.

We conducted hands-on testing of 25 dog food storage containers in our New York lab to find the absolute best. Our testers evaluated a wide variety of containers (including wall-mounted and wheeled products), rating them not only on design attributes but also stress-testing them for their ability to keep out water and stay stable when bumped.

Our overall favorite was the IRIS Airtight Food Storage Container & Scoop Combo , which is stackable, has wheels, and is made of food-grade plastic that's BPA-free, eliminating the opportunity for contamination. But the IRIS wasn't the only storage container we tested to earn high marks, with several other products also earning our recommendation.

Best Overall

Iris airtight food storage container.

Caster wheels

Two stackable containers

Multiple colors available

Containers not connected

Our best overall pick is the IRIS Airtight Pet Food Storage Container & Scoop Combo because of its functionality, portability, and airtight seal. While many of the other containers on this list are also airtight, the other features offered by this container system set it apart from the competition. Our tester noted that when sealed and full of dog food, this container did not spill or open when shaken vigorously and tipped over. We also love that this container system is on wheels, making it easy to move in your pantry or throughout your house.

The IRIS Airtight Pet Food Storage Container passed our lab tests with flying colors, garnering perfect scores for the container's design, durability, and ease of cleaning. The latch is easy to open and seals tight, plus it stays attached to the container, so you're not dealing with a bunch of separated parts. The lid fully opens the top of the container, making it easy to dump in big bags of food or access the interior for cleaning.

We also love that there are multiple colors available so that you can purchase the one that best fits your home. The scoop included with this container is also labeled with measurements so that you can know exactly how much food you’re giving your dog. The wide opening also makes this container easy to clean and wipe down when needed.

The combination of thoughtful design elements and substantial durability made the IRIS Airtight Pet Food Storage Container a clear favorite during testing in our labs. The only downside our testers noted was that there is no way to secure the stackable containers to each other, so you have to rely on gravity instead.

We were also less enamored with larger IRIS Airtight storage containers. One that we purchased and tested separately failed both our tip test and sealing test, letting water in at the hinge and soaking the dog food inside. If you're looking at IRIS Airtight Pet Food Storage Containers, we recommend sticking to the combo package or its individual pieces.

Best Budget

Van ness food container with wheels.

"Fresh-tite" seal

Easy to clean

Small capacity

Will spill when knocked over

You don’t have to spend a fortune to get a  quality dog food  storage container. With its 25-pound max capacity, the Van Ness Food Container is a bit smaller than some of the others on this list, but if you have a small dog or prefer to buy smaller quantities of food at one time, it’s a good fit. The container is constructed of food-grade plastic and has a seal that keeps air and pests out, so the food lasts longer. It also sits on top of four wheels, so if you need to move it around, you can do so easily without having to struggle to lift a full dog food container.

Our testers noted that while this container claims to have a "fresh-tite" seal, the top did come off when the container was knocked over during testing, so this may not be the best option for families with mischievous pets or larger dogs. It's also not waterproof, so it should not be left outside. Despite these design issues, we still think its reasonable price makes it a great choice for a dog food container.

Capacity: 25 pounds | Dimensions: 13.75 x 15.2 x 16.3 inches | Material: Food-grade plastic

Best Splurge

Simplehuman medium pet food storage can.

Comes in three sizes

Narrow design

Lock-tight handle

Magnetic lid with a mounted scoop

Easy to tip over

The Simplehuman Pet Food Can is a definite splurge compared to the other options on this list we feel it's worth the price. The fingerprint-proof stainless steel outer shell has a BPA-free plastic inner bucket that’s removable for easy filling and quick cleaning. Rather than a screw-on or clip top, it features a large, ergonomic lock-tight handle that activates a silicone gasket and forms an airtight seal that keeps pests out (and prevents your pets from getting in). And as a bonus, it has a magnetic lid with an included measuring scoop that attaches to the lid, so at  feeding times , you never have to go digging into the dog food to find the scoop.

During our performance tests, our testers noted that no food fell out when the container was knocked over, and the scoop stayed magnetized to the lid. When submerged during the water-resistance test, our testers said that everything became wet except for the bin holding the dog food, which stayed completely dry. Although this container can be easily knocked over, its locked and airtight lid makes it completely spillproof, which is a huge plus for busy homes with mischievous pets.

We tested the 25-quart medium-sized version of the Simplehuman storage can, but two larger sizes are also available.

Capacity: Medium (27 pounds), large (32 pounds), and x-large (40 pounds) | Dimensions: 10.4 x 18.1 x 19.4 inches (medium), 10.4 x 18.1 x 23.2 inches (large), 10.4 x 18.1 x 27.4 inches (x-large) | Material: Stainless steel, BPA-free plastic

Best Airtight

Gamma2 vittles vault pet food storage.

Large capacity

Scoop included

BPA-free, HDPE plastic

Not waterproof

This airtight container is easy to fill and open with a screw-on top that will keep your pet’s food fresh. There are several sizes available so that you can choose a capacity that best fits your pet’s needs. Our tester noted that this container passed all of our performance tests (kicking, punching, and knocking over) except for the water submersion portion. While being submerged underwater, water was able to leak into this container and ruined the dog food, so we do not recommend using this container for outside storage, especially if you live in a particularly wet climate.

Aside from this design flaw, our tester loved how easy it was to clean this container. They also noted that the design of this container made it easy to set it out of the way in your pantry and not worry about a dog food smell affecting other food items. The included scoop also makes it easy to fill your dog’s food bowl, while the thick plastic will prevent any especially curious pets from getting into the container and breaking it.

Capacity: 15, 25, 30, 35, 50, or 80 pounds | Dimensions : Varies based on capacity | Material: BPA-free, HDPE plastic

Best Personalized

Outshine farmhouse dog food bin.

Can be personalized

Vintage look that fits in with home decor

Airtight seal

Smaller capacity than other options

Doesn’t have a hinge lid so you have to fully remove the lid

If you want a dog food storage container that fits in a little bit more personality, the Outshine White Farmhouse Pet Food Bin is an aesthetically pleasing option that adds a vintage touch to your space. It’s constructed of powder-coated carbon steel that’s virtually indestructible and comes with a cling sticker that you can use to customize it. You can use a permanent marker or opt for a dry-erase marker that allows you to change the personalization as you see fit. With its 12-pound capacity, it’s the smallest container on this list, but it’s excellent for smaller bags of kibble or for storing treats.

Capacity: 12 pounds | Dimensions: 11 x 7 x 13 inches | Material: Powder-coated carbon steel

Best for Travel

Ruffwear dog food travel bag.

Food-safe material

Compact design with pour spout

 Fits 10 pounds of food

Not easy to wash

If you like to take your pup on the road, the Ruffwear Kibble Kaddie is a must-have. It has a compact design with a food-safe main compartment and a separate internal pocket that you can use to store bowls, supplements, or anything else your dog needs to live its best life. It can fit 42 cups, which is roughly 10 pounds of dry food, and has an internal spout that makes it easy to pour, so you don’t have to mess around with scoops when you’re traveling. As you use the food, the roll-down closure comes down to meet the volume to keep food fresh and secure. Plus, the side buckles clip together to form a convenient carrying handle so you can take it with you on hikes, camping, or other adventures.

Our tester noted that this bag kept very secure and did not leak any food or come undone when put through our performance and durability tests. While this bag is very convenient for travel, our tester said that she was worried about washing it and how long it would take to air dry. Despite this concern, our tester said that she thought it would be great for camping, or other travel, because of its durable design and materials.

Capacity: 42 cups (roughly 10 pounds) | Dimensions: 7.87 x 9.45 x 16.93 inches | Material: Waterproof nylon

Best for Treats

The container store treat canister.

The Container Store

Airtight silicone seal

Made of durable acrylic

Looks cute on the counter

 Only comes in one design

This Good Dog Treat Canister is a small-capacity storage solution that keeps small bags of your dog’s favorite snacks fresh and close by at all times. It’s made from food-safe acrylic, so it’s durable and resistant to scratches, and thanks to its flip-up bone lever, it’s also easy to open—a huge plus for those with less manual dexterity. When the bone is flipped down, it triggers an airtight silicone seal that keeps moisture and pests out, and when it’s turned up, you can use it as a handle to pull the lid right off.

Capacity: 1.9 quarts (approximately 1 pound) | Dimensions: 5.13 x 7.25 inches | Material: Food-safe acrylic

Final Verdict

The IRIS Airtight Food Storage Container has plenty of room to fit 35 pounds worth of dog food and treats, but if you prefer less plastic, the Simplehuman Pet Food Can is a worthwhile splurge that’s constructed of stainless steel and has an airtight gasket closure.

Buddeez "Bag-In" Pet Food Dispenser : While this storage container has a high capacity and passed our performance tests, our tester noted that it would be difficult to pick up and pour out food when the container is completely full. She also said that the top was easy to not properly lock, so if not locked, this container could spill when tipped over.

How We Tested the Dog Food Containers

We researched and bought 26 pet food containers for testing in  The Lab  to put their claims of airtight seals and weatherproof design to the test. Our testers first evaluated the  design  of the containers, noting features such as wheels, carrying handles, scoops, and material. To test  performance , our testers filled each container with food and shook and tipped it over, noting if the top came off and if any food spilled out. If a container claimed to be airtight, our testers submerged the container (full of food) in water and checked to see if water leaked into the food chamber.

Then, our testers evaluated the  durability  of each container after putting them through the performance tests based on whether the containers showed signs of damage or wear. Our testers also tested the  ease of cleaning  each container by dumping out the food and wiping the containers with wet towels. They made note of any difficult portions to clean and whether the opening was large enough for a thorough cleaning. After evaluating and testing each container, we asked our testers to consider the price of the container and rate its overall  value .

For containers that we were not able to test in the Lab, we researched the best options, evaluating on a similar basis of performance reviews and material. We also made note of customer reviews and considered the containers' overall capacity and features to select the best.

What to Look for in a Dog Food Storage Container

Finding the right container is a balancing act—too big, and food could go stale or rancid before you get to the bottom, but too small, and you can't fit an entire bag inside. How big of a container you'll need will depend on how much your dog eats and varies according to their size and diet, but aim for one that fits about a 30-day supply of food to prevent spoilage.

While it's best to seal the entire bag of food inside a dog food container rather than emptying the food directly into the container, you'll still want as tight a seal as possible. This prevents bugs and moisture from getting in and spoiling your dog's food. Airtight options, like a screw top or gasket seals, are best.

Plastic, glass, and stainless steel are some of the most common materials used to make dog food storage containers. All are acceptable, but if you’re choosing plastic, we recommend making sure it’s food-grade and free of BPA, which is an endocrine disrupter that dogs may be exposed to via food containers and packaging.

Whether you're storing food directly in the container or putting the entire bag of dog food in, you'll want something that's easy to wash with soap and water. After cleaning, always let the container fully dry before adding more pet food or sealing it closed.

As long as it’s made with food-grade plastic, it’s safe to store dog food in a plastic container, but we do recommend avoiding plastics that contain BPA to reduce your dog's exposure to this chemical.

If you’re worried about the food coming into contact with the plastic, you can also keep the food in its original bag and put the entire thing into the plastic container.

The best way to keep pests out of dog containers is to choose an airtight, ant- and pest-proof container and make sure that it’s tightly sealed every time you’re done scooping food out of it. These containers also keep humidity away from the dog food and keep it fresh as long as possible.

Dog food containers don’t  need  to be airtight, but the food lasts longer and stays fresher, and pests—like ants, bugs, and rodents—can’t get to it if it is. As soon as dog food is exposed to air, humidity, and higher temperatures, it starts to break down and lose its freshness. While your dog may still be OK with eating it, it’s akin to you eating food that’s gone stale.

Why Trust The Spruce Pets?

Lindsay Boyers  is a dog mom of two large breeds that consistently have at least 50 pounds of food stored away. While she personally uses (and loves) the Simplehuman Pet Food Can, she understands that the accompanying price tag isn’t for everyone. As such, she extensively researched the best dog food storage containers and came up with more options based on positive reviews from happy pet parents.

Emma Phelps  is an Updates Writer for The Spruce Pets, who updated this article to include our latest testing results from The Lab. Phelps has several years of experience researching the best-rated products and writing insight and helpful product overviews.

Best pet carriers for dogs, cats, and furry friends of all shapes and sizes

Jean Chen Smith

May 30, 2024 // By Jean Chen Smith

By Jean Chen Smith May 30, 2024

The best pet carriers provide comfort and safety for traveling fur babies

Between managing a Pilates studio, traveling to workshops, and writing about travel, I do a good amount of trekking across the globe. When I'm on the move, I do my best to bring my pups, Tonka and Paisley, along for company. Statistics show I'm not alone: 78% of Americans travel with their four-legged pals.

Travel can be hard enough with unanticipated delays and detours, so I want to make things go as smoothly as possible when bringing my dogs. That's why finding a reliable pet carrier is essential for seamless journeys. Because I travel at least twice a month, I've tested my fair share of carriers. Some are amazing, while others have been disappointing.

When purchasing a carrier, consider whether you're flying or driving. In-cabin pet carriers need to meet airline requirements, and those requirements vary (especially when flying with a dog ). On a road trip, you'll have more latitude regarding size selections. Above all, you'll want to ensure the comfort and safety of your precious pets.

Advertisement Advertisement

These are our favorite pet carrier recommendations for paw parents.

Best pet carrier for flying: The Pet Carrier by Away

Away Pet Carrier makes travel a breeze for your furry friends

The Pet Carrier by Away wins our overall best pick. Known for its tactical hard-sided suitcases, the brand also has a leg up when transporting your furry friend. We love its sleek design with attention to small details, such as its soft, rounded shape, which slides easily underneath most airline seats. Measuring 18.7 inches (long) x 10.8 inches (wide) x 10.75 inches (high), it accommodates pets up to 18 pounds. The carrier meets all Federal Aviation Administration requirements; however, it's still a best practice to research each airline's size and weight limitations.

Additional winning features include its water-resistant lining and comfortable sherpa bedding, which can ease your pet's anxiety while traveling. Several exterior pockets help you stay organized while on the move. We especially appreciate the large, zippered side pocket for safekeeping paperwork and other essentials.

Bonus points for the mesh panels, which allow for ventilation even on hot days. The pet carrier also features a trolley sleeve that easily attaches to luggage.

Best pet carrier for a road trip: Mobile Dog Gear Pet Carrier Plus

Mobile Dog Gear Pet Carrier Plus is road-trip ready

Mobile Dog Gear Pet Carrier Plus is our favorite choice for road trips. The company has considered everything you'll need for your four-legged companion when traveling. The pet carrier, which measures 17 x 11 x 11, has its patented feeding system design, which includes two food carriers, two collapsible silicone bowls, and an easy-to-clean placemat.

Made with thick, durable fabric, the pet carrier offers three-sided mesh ventilation for breathability and a waterproof exterior bottom, so you don't have to worry about setting it down on rainy days. The interior padded bottom is a comfy spot for Fido to relax and is removed easily for machine washing.

With two mesh pockets on each side and a third zippered pocket, you'll have ample space for storing treats, paw wipes, and much more. It also has seat belt clips that lock into any car and a collar tether to transport your fur friend safely.

Best pet carrier for small dogs: Olla Petite Pet Carrycot by Lambwolf Collective

Petite pups love the Lambwolf Olla Pet Carrycot

The Olla Petite Pet Carrycot by Lambwolf Collective is our favorite for small dogs because of its multifunctional features for a petite companion. The water-resistant carrycot is super portable and versatile. It can be used as a bed, carrier, or sling pouch, making it suitable for travel. Especially designed for pets under 11 pounds, the interior features a soft temperature-regulated cushion, offering comfort for your pooch.

The cushion and cot are machine washable, making them useful and long-lasting. The cot has an adjustable drawstring opening. A safety clip inside the cot can be attached to your dog's collar.

Best pet carrier for big dogs: Away-We-Go Pet Crate by Roverlund

Roverlund's Away-We-Go large pet crate keeps your pets safe for travel

Roverlund's larger Away-We-Go Pet Crate option suits dogs up to 50 pounds. The easy-to-assemble kennel is made of aluminum and fabric and measures 30 x 20 x 22. It features front, top, and side entry points and a pocket with safety fasteners to carry all Fido's travel essentials.

The waterproof bottom prevents leaks and protects from outside water getting in, should you face inclement weather conditions. The interior pad is removable and can be machine-washed on a gentle cycle.

Splurge for the ingenious add-on Ready-to-Roll Pet Carrier Wheel Base , designed to lug your bigger four-legged around easily. The smooth-moving skateboard wheels allow for stress-free navigation. The pet crate and wheelbase are available in small sizes and are suitable for pets under 25 pounds.

Best crossbody pet carrier: Cloud Crossbody Pet Carrier from Pups & Bubs

Pups & Bubs Cloud Crossbody pet carrier is totes cute

The Cloud Crossbody Pet Carrier , a bestseller from Pups & Bubs, is great for dog parents who want to carry their pups in a sling, similar to a baby wrap. I'm a huge fan of the cloud crossbody because it's lightweight, stylish, and offers a solid base for your furbaby to rest comfortably. It's perfect for smaller dogs who can't walk long but enjoy having their head out and seeing all the activity. My three-pound shih tzu Paisley loves riding in it while I'm window shopping or running errands.

It also features several zippered pockets to carry water bottles and other essentials. When not used as a dog carrier, you can remove the interior insert to use it as an everyday bag. It easily adjusts to a lounge pod for your pet to rest, whether at home or on vacation. It is most suitable for smaller dogs and has a secure latch and mesh closure to keep your pup safe.

Best soft-sided pet carrier: Wild One Travel Carrier

Wild One Pet Carrier is airline-approved and comfortable for small dogs

Wild One Travel Carrier is our choice for the best soft-sided because it's airline-approved, roomy, and cozy for your four-legged friend. Made of a neoprene outer with ventilated mesh walls, it measures 17.5 x 11 x 10 and is suitable for pets under 16 pounds.

We love its ergonomic design — the case opens into a canopy bed so your pet can rest and lounge. The removable shoulder strap allows you to wear it as a crossbody when you need both hands free to navigate. You can even use it as a leash for last-minute emergencies.

Best hard-sided pet carrier: Petmate Pet Porter

Petmate's Aspen Fashion Pet Porter Dog Kennel Hard-Sided Breeze is a classic for a reason

Petmate's Pet Porter is your best bet for hard-sided options for transporting your pup. The pet porter is available in multiple sizes , depending on how big or small your pet is. Made of 90% recycled plastic, it features a secure latch so you can feel confident while traveling. Side vents allow for sufficient airflow to keep your best friend comfortable.

One thing to note is that it doesn't come with padding, so you'll want to pick one up to ensure your pet's comfort. The company offers a one-year limited warranty on their crates.

Best pet carrier for cats: Sleepypod Atom

Sleepypod Atom is the cat's meow among pet carriers for cats

We love Sleepypod Atom for its contemporary design, which makes transporting your pet a cinch. While the Atom is suitable for dogs and cats, we chose it as our best feline carrier because the enclosed compartment provides more privacy. The heavy-duty rip-stop mesh holds up against frisky kitties who like to claw and chew. The interior is spacious and cozy, with ultra plush bedding to support a relaxed voyage.

The Sleepypod Atom fits under most airline seats, can be used as a car seat, and folds flat for storage. It measures 17 x 8.5 x 10.5 and is suitable for pets up to 12 pounds.

Best pet carrier with wheels: Luxury Rider Pet Carrier by Katziela

Katziela Luxury Rider Pet Carrier on wheels makes for smooth travels

Luxury Rider Pet Carrier with Removable Wheels and Telescopic Handle , made by Katziela, is the best mobile pet carrier. Owners love the double telescopic handle, which slides out easily and offers effortless motion when in a hurry. Once you remove the wheels, the carrier also acts as a crate for your pet to rest at a hotel, home, or office.

Made for your pet's comfort, the Luxury Rider Pet Carrier offers ventilated mesh on all sides so your pet can breathe easily and see what's happening. The interior case features a fluffy bed, so pets can sit back and enjoy the ride.

Best budget pet carrier: Bruno's Place Travel Carrier

Bruno's Place Travel Carrier provides comfort for any small pet

Bruno's Place Travel Carrier with Shoulder Straps is designed for the pet-conscious paw parent and is suitable for dogs and cats that weigh up to 20 pounds. It sits along the front of your body like a baby wrap, allowing you to use your hands while in transit. They can have their head outside of the bag, or they can rest entirely inside. The removable base offers your pet additional comfort while in the carrier.

Ergonomically designed back straps offer an even weight distribution, providing ample support for the lumbar spine. Two side pockets allow you to store items you want to access quickly.

Two Victorian island forts that were used to defend the Portsmouth dockyards during the Second World War have been listed for auction for £1m each. Read this and the rest of today's consumer news in the Money blog.

Ever wanted to own your own Victorian island fort?

Well now you can - with two being listed with a guide price of £1m.

Spitbank Fort in Hampshire and No Man's Land Fort off the Isle of Wight have been listed for auction and can be bought separately - or as a pair if you can't pick between the two.

During the Second World War, the forts were used to defend the Portsmouth dockyards.

No Man's Fort is substantially bigger and probably presents itself more as a business opportunity, but Spitbank offers nine large bedroom suites across three floors and could potentially work as a private home to the right buyer.

No Man's Fort has its own traditional English pub, a nightclub, and a helipad, while Spitbank Fort naturally boasts a wine cave plus a swimming pool and spa complex.

"Throughout my career as an auctioneer I've seen several sea forts hit the market that have achieved impressive prices as buyers have sought to pursue these trophy assets," said Robin Howeson, head of Savills Auctions.

"Having been carefully restored by the current owners, No Man's and Spitbank Fort represent exceptional market value, each guided at £1m.

"Both offer an opportunity like no other; a waterfront location, up to 99,000sq ft of space and a chance to champion the heritage and legacy of these iconic maritime structures."

The auction takes place on 18 June.

The BBC's content arm is among the suitors vying to buy the television production company which owns the rights to The Gruffalo.

Sky News has learnt that BBC Studios is participating in a sale process for Magic Light Pictures, which has won three BAFTAs and secured a quartet of Oscar nominations.

The auction is being run by Gotham Street, a specialist media deals boutique.

A number of other bidders are also said to be involved in the process given the quality of Magic Light's content library, which includes a number of works by The Gruffalo's creators, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

The Gruffalo has become one of Britain's best-known children's characters, telling the story of an adventurous mouse that fends off a series of would-be predators by telling them about a supposedly imaginary creature called a gruffalo.

In the 2011 sequel, The Gruffalo's Child, the mouse then scares off a young gruffalo by using shadows to project a giant version of itself.

The two films have been distributed internationally by Magic Light, and along with the original Gruffalo books have sparked substantial merchandising revenues as well as a theme park attraction at Chessington World of Adventures.

The woman alleged to be the inspiration for the stalker in hit Netflix series Baby Reindeer is suing the streaming platform for $170m (£133m).

The show is said to be based on the real-life experiences of writer Richard Gadd, who plays himself as he copes with stalker Martha Scott.

Fiona Harvey, 58, claims she is the inspiration for Martha, who begins stalking Gadd after he serves her a free cup of tea in the pub where he works.

In the lawsuit, Ms Harvey has accused Netflix of spreading "brutal lies", including that she is a "twice convicted stalker who was sentenced to five years in prison".

"Defendants told these lies, and never stopped, because it was a better story than the truth, and better stories made money," it states.

"As a result of defendants' lies, malfeasance and utterly reckless misconduct, Harvey's life had been ruined."

Sky News's US partner network NBC News reports the lawsuit described the show's claim "this is a true story" as "the biggest lie in television history".

"Netflix destroyed a woman, claiming, among many allegations, that she was a convicted woman," Richard Roth, a lawyer for Ms Harvey, wrote in an email.

"It never contacted her. It never checked the facts. It never made any effort to understand the truth of its 'true story!'"

The lawsuit seeks actual damages and compensatory damages at $50m (£39m) each, punitive damages at $20m (£16m); as well as "all profits" from Baby Reindeer at $50m (£39m).

A Netflix spokesperson told Sky News: "We intend to defend this matter vigorously and to stand by Richard Gadd's right to tell his story."

Administrators to The Body Shop are aiming to clinch a sale of the stricken cosmetics retailer by the end of the month, even as its former owner veers away from making an offer for it.

Sky News' city editor Mark Kleinman has learnt that FRP Advisory, which was appointed to handle the chain's insolvency in January, has asked for indicative bids by next Tuesday.

British entrepreneur Mike Lynch has been cleared of all charges by a US jury in the high-profile fraud case related to the sale of his software company Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard (HP) in 2011.

Dr Lynch, who was extradited to the US to face trial just over a year ago, was acquitted alongside a former finance executive Stephen Chamberlain who had faced the same charges.

They were accused of conspiracy and attempted fraud over the £8.3bn sale to HP - a deal that has been the subject of costly legal action since.

Labour is promising to get more young people on the housing ladder as it announces its "freedom to buy" scheme on Friday.

The party is pledging to make the existing mortgage guarantee scheme - which sees the government act as a guarantor for people unable to save big deposits - into a permanent fixture if it wins the election on 4 July.

Meanwhile, the Tories are promising a tax cut for parents by raising the threshold for when families have to pay a levy on their child benefit.

The current system means if either parents or a parent's partner earns more than £60,000, they begin paying the high income child benefit tax charge, and lose the benefit altogether when a salary hits £80,000.

But if the Tories win the election on 4 July, they have promised to increase the threshold to £120,000 before any tax is paid, and to £160,000 before the benefit is withdrawn, as well as base it on a household income, rather than an individual.

If you missed out on the general sales but want to bag yourself a last-minute ticket to Taylor Swift's show in Edinburgh tonight , it could set you back a whopping £4,000.

Not to fear, however, as it is currently possible to land yourself a ticket for as little as £271 - if you settle for a somewhat restricted view.

We've checked resale giant Viagogo for the latest prices, accurate as of 10.30am.

As is often the case with popular tours listed on resale sites, many of the tickets are sold individually - so if you're happy to go alone tonight, you're more likely to get a ticket.

For context, a ticket at general sale cost somewhere between £80-£160 depending on where you sit/stand.

As it stands, the cheapest seat with an unrestricted view of the stage is currently up for sale at £323.

Just one ticket is up for £271, but has a "restricted view".

Bringing a crowd

If you're looking to take someone with you, the cheapest pair of tickets without any restricted view will cost you a combined £1,706.

However, if you're happy with a restricted or limited view, you can pay the cheaper price of £538 for the pair (£269 each).

You can buy up to four tickets in the same area for £303 each (£1,212 together) for a restricted view, or £555 each (£2,220 together) for an unobstructed view of the stage.

Getting closer to the action

Standing tickets are much sought after given their proximity to the stage.

As alluded to at the top of this post, one frankly optimistic reseller has listed four general admission tickets for a staggering £4,256 each (in the "floor" section shown in the map below).

However, you can get even closer - with one ticket remaining in the separate section to the left of the stage at £651 and another to the right at £559.

A word of caution

Ticket resale sites, including Viagogo, have previously been accused of "ripping off" consumers amid concerns customers could be turned away at venues because of restrictions on some resold tickets.

The company was told in 2019 that it was required to make a number of changes to the way it collects and presents information about tickets on its site.

It has since pledged to be compliant with UK watchdogs and now offers a "100% order guarantee [which] covers both buyers and sellers".

If you're happy paying over the odds for last-minute tickets, make sure you're buying through a site with such a guarantee and always beware of scams!

House prices in the UK dropped by 0.1% between April and May, data from mortgage lender Halifax shows.

Analysts had expected a drop of around 0.2%, while last week, rival lender Nationwide said its measure of house prices rose in May after falling in the previous two months.

In the 12 months to May, prices rose by 1.5%, Halifax said - faster than the median forecast in a Reuters news agency poll for an annual increase of 1.2%.

"Market activity remained resilient throughout the spring months, supported by strong nominal wage growth and some evidence of an improvement in confidence about the economic outlook," Halifax's head of mortgages, Amanda Bryden, said.

The stable picture for property prices over the last three months was likely to give more confidence to buyers and sellers, she added.

Sir Keir Starmer will shortly promise to get more young people on the housing ladder as Labour announces its "freedom to buy" policy.

We've now got some reaction from business leaders, who've been speaking to Newspage.

Justin Moy, managing director at EHF Mortgages, was not impressed.

"Freedom to buy looks great on the first read, but then you realise it’s actually been in place since 2021 and many lenders don't use it anyway," he said.

"Labour are effectively promoting something that already exists and isn't used," he added.

Andrew Montlake, managing director at Coreco, disagreed, saying it marked a "promising" first offering from Labour.

"This can allow lenders to take a longer-term approach in their offerings and ensure that competitive products are continually available for those with lower deposits.

"Whilst it doesn't solve the long-term housing issues overnight, Labour have at least shown they understand them and have already shown they are willing to speak and engage with those on the front lines, which is more promising for the housing market as a whole should the next government be a red one."

However, many more had a negative outlook.

Lewis Shaw, owner of Shaw Financial Services, was scathing in his assessment, saying: "This policy is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

"Prior to the pandemic, 95% loan-to-value mortgage lending was the norm.

"It happened without any political interference or putting the taxpayer on the hook - has everyone forgotten that?

"If Labour really wants to help young people buy a home, then do the things that we all know are needed: Tax the super-rich, reduce wealth inequality and build more houses. It's not rocket science."

Katy Eatenton, mortgage and protection specialist at Lifetime Wealth Management, said it was "yet another scheme with no real substance", which was echoed by Stephen Perkins, managing director at Yellow Brick Mortgages.

"This policy will not hugely impact the property market," he said.

Shortly, we're expecting Sir Keir Starmer to promise to get more young people on the housing ladder as Labour announces its "freedom to buy".

He's set to speak in the coming hours.

The party will pledge to make the existing mortgage guarantee scheme - which sees the government act as a guarantor for people unable to save big deposits - into a permanent fixture if it wins the election on 4 July.

Sir Keir will also commit to an overhaul of the planning system, including reintroducing housing targets, claiming his measures will see 1.5 million more homes built over the next five years.

Among the planning changes, the party will promise to tax foreign buyers "pricing out young people" from the housing market in order to pay for new planning officers, which it claims will help increase projects being signed off.

It will bring back house-build targets - scrapped by the Tories in 2022 - as well as fast-track permissions to build on brownfield sites, and reform compulsory purchase orders to "stop speculators frustrating housebuilding".

They will also promise to offer "first dibs" on new developments to local people looking for a home and reiterate their pledge to create "the next generation" of new towns.

GAME are set to end their long-running rewards programme on 31 July and have urged customers to use their remaining credit whilst they still can.

Both the company's standard GAME Reward scheme and their Elite membership tier will cease to exist, while no further reward points will be earned from purchases made in store or online after July 15.

You can currently redeem 400 reward points for £1 off of a purchase. The end of GAME Elite will mean the end of its monthly offers and prize draws. Any outstanding paid Elite membership months will be eligible for a refund.

"We would strongly urge you to redeem your GAME reward points prior to the closure date on purchases in store or online to avoid disappointment," said GAME.

"After the closure date, GAME reward points will be reset to zero and the GAME reward account will be closed, you will no longer be able to access it and you will no longer be able to redeem your GAME reward points."

The end of GAME's reward programme is the latest move from the company to make changes to their business model.

The chain has already closed several of their own bespoke high street stores and instead taken up residence within Sports Direct and other Fraser Group outlets.

We've now had the first interest rate cut in the UK, US and EU for years.

Yesterday the European Central Bank (ECB) brought down the cost of borrowing in the countries using the euro - the first reduction since 2019.

Sterling stayed roughly where it has been against the euro for the last two weeks - one pound buys more euro than it has done for most of the last year, €1.1740.

Oil prices have ticked up through the week but are still just below $80 a barrel for Brent crude, the benchmark price.

That's cheaper than the vast majority of this year and good news for motorists.

Signs of stabilisation can be seen in the housing market with the news that house prices fell just 0.1% in May, equivalent to a £170 drop in the average house, according to mortgage lender Halifax.

But renting is still becoming more expensive, just at a slightly slower rate than before, according to property portal Zoopla.

The average rent costs £80 more a month compared with a year earlier.

Higher housing costs have also shown through in a market update from British homebuilder Bellway, which said it expects to sell houses at a higher price point than it previously thought.

The company is a constituent of the Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) 250 index of 101st to 350th most valuable companies on the London Stock Exchange which is down 0.22% this morning.
