"In October a friend of mine and I did the Garden Route in South Africa with Ingo as our guide, and I wanted to let you know that epic doesn’t begin to describe the time we had. Going up and over some of those passes was a bit rough but that was OK, it wouldn’t have been a great ride without that, but the riding, the scenery, everything, was beyond great.

I was particularly impressed – astonished would be a better word - with the accommodations you arranged. I wasn’t expecting much more than a room with a bed and a shower, but those places were spectacular. And the food, what a treat!!

This is the first bike trip I’ve ever been on where I didn’t lose weight. Lastly, I’d like to say that you have quite an asset in Ingo, the guide. He was very helpful, offered us lots of options, and was very friendly too. We always had lots to talk about with him. He adjusted his riding to our level (we aren’t anywhere near as fast as he is) and he made sure we always VERY well taken care of. I can’t think of any way that your/his service could have been better."

Welcome to the 2024 Cape Town Cycle Tour 

The 47th Cape Town Cycle Tour, the biggest timed bike race in the world, will be held on Sunday, 9 March 2025.

Primarily, the Cycle Tour provides a glorious day out for tens of thousands of cyclists, no matter the weather.  For just one day of the year, human power rules the roads of the fairest cape in the whole circumference of the earth (Sir Francis Drake, 1579) .  

It’s not all about riding legally on freeways, though; in the months following the Cycle Tour, millions of rand are plowed back into the communities the 109km route crosses through the ongoing work of the event principals, the Pedal Power Association and the Rotary Club of Claremont.

Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo

A celebration of everything cycling, health and fitness under one roof. The Expo runs alongside Registration at the DHL Stadium from 6-8 March 2025.

Where The Money Goes

Every cent of the proceeds from the Cape Town Cycle Tour, and its sub-events, is channeled back into the communities that host the event. Through the Pedal Power Association and the Rotary Club of Claremont, nearly R50 000 000 has been redistributed cross the Cape Peninsula in the last five years. The PPA focuses primarily on cycling development projects and improving road safety for all cyclists, while Claremont Rotary’s drive is into numerous social upliftment projects that improve the lives of those in need in local communities.
