TSA officers arrested for allegedly stealing from travelers

Three Transportation Security Administration officers at Miami International Airport were arrested last week for allegedly stealing from travelers.

Court records show 20-year-old Josue Gonzalez, 22-year-old Elizabeth Fuster and 33-year-old Labarrius Williams were arrested on July 6 on charges of organized schemes to defraud.

The officers were captured on surveillance video conspiring to distract passengers and steal money from them as they went through security, according to arrest affidavits. At one point, Gonzalez and Williams could allegedly be seen taking $600 out of a flyer’s wallet, and the trio was seen conspiring together to steal on multiple other occasions.

In a formal interview at TSA Command Center, Gonzalez and Fuster waived their rights and gave written statements confessing to being involved in various thefts, according to the affidavits. They admitted to stealing about $1,000 per day on average while they worked together.

Williams did not waive his rights and refused to speak, the affidavits said.

“The Transportation Security Administration holds its Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) to the highest professional and ethical standards and has no tolerance for misconduct in the workplace,” the TSA told USA TODAY in an emailed statement. “We actively and aggressively investigated these allegations of misconduct and presented our findings to (the Miami-Dade Police Department), and are working closely with them. Any employee who fails to meet our fundamental ethical standards is held accountable.”

TSA removed the officers from their screening duties pending the conclusion of the investigation and administrative actions.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are taking Greece by land, sea and air.

An isle spy tells Page Six that the power couple has been seen on Mykonos, where helicopter pilot Sánchez was spotted taking a whirly-bird for a spin off the duo’s boat, which is filled with “toys,” y’know, like choppers.

Said the fellow traveler: “Jeff was seen coming from the city center in Chora ” — as the tony town is called by locals and in-the-know visitors — “and getting on and off his helicopter onto his smaller support boat.”

The couple was also photographed strolling through the streets of Mykonos hand-in-hand.

The source further said that, “Lauren has been seen flying a helicopter on and off their support boat, where they keep all their toys . . . helicopters, speed boats and other water toys.”

The source also told us that, “Jeff’s keeping the super big boat they live on, on the other side of the island where there is less wind.”

The source was referring to the couple’s famous $500 million superyacht , Koru, which they debuted last summer. Building of the mammoth vessel for the Amazon tycoon began in 2018.

Bezos also reportedly owns a “smaller” $75 million yacht, Abeona, which shadows his bigger boat . (One boat blog explained the concept: “In car terms, this is basically the same as buying a Porsche so you can drive to the garage where your Bugatti is parked.”)

The little ol’ support boat can accommodate 45, including 20 crew.

Six arrested following Travelers Championship protest

C ROMWELL, Conn. (WTNH) – Six people were arrested following a protest during the final round of the Travelers Championship on Sunday.

Cromwell police say Sayak Mukhopadhyay, William Regan, Jeffrey Marsar, Lydia Wooley, Mark Graham, and Emily Smith charged onto the 18th green during the Travelers Championship.

All were charged with first degree criminal mischief, first degree criminal trespassing, and breach of peace.

They were released on a $5,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on July 1.

“The reason for their protesting will not be released, as the department does not

want to give their cause any more attention then what has already been received,” Cromwell police said in a release on Sunday.

The Associated Press says all six were climate protesters who sprayed smoke and powder on the course.
