Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Kickoff Had An Epic Setlist With A Dozen Live Debuts

eras tour setlist video

Taylor Swift kicked off her Eras Tour last night in Glendale, Arizona — excuse me, Swift City — and true to her word, she performed songs off every one of her 10 studio albums. A lot of the setlist was dedicated to Lover , folklore , evermore , and Midnights , the four albums she’s released since the last time she went out on tour.

“Tonight, we’re going to be going on an adventure, one era at a time!” Swift said, per Billboard ’s recap of the night . She segmented the show into albums — minus one “surprise song” toward the end of the night — and had different stage set-ups and outfits for most of them. (The surprise song will be different acoustic performance each night; last night it was “mirrorball.”) Some of the songs were shortened versions, some were acoustic, but Swift got through 44 of them in roughly three hours time.

Watch some video from the night below and check out the extensive setlist.

SETLIST: “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince” “Cruel Summer” * “The Man” “You Need To Calm Down” “Lover” “The Archer” “Fearless” “You Belong With Me” “Love Story” “’tis the damn season” * “willow” “marjorie” * “champagne problems” * “tolerate it” * “…Ready For It?” “Delicate” “Don’t Blame Me” “Look What You Made Me Do” “Enchanted” “22” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” “I Knew You Were Trouble” “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” “invisible string” “betty” “the last great american dynasty” “august” “illicit affairs” “my tears ricochet” “cardigan” “Style” “Blank Space” “Shake It Off” “Wildest Dreams” “Bad Blood” “mirrorball” “Tim McGraw” “Lavender Haze” * “Anti-Hero” “Midnight Rain” * “Vigilante Shit” * “Bejeweled” * “Mastermind” * “Karma” * * denotes live debut

The Eras Tour spends another night in Glendale tonight, and there are 50 more shows after that.

What songs has Taylor Swift added to the new Eras Tour setlist? Here's the full official new Eras Tour setlist and all the changes she's made so far.

Listen to this article

It's safe to say that Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour has well and truly surpassed every single expectation we had. The Eras Tour officially opened its doors in Glendale, Arizona on March 17th where Taylor performed songs from all 10 of her albums.

Since then, Taylor has released her eleventh album, ' The Tortured Poets Department ', and has now added seven of those songs to the setlist too. But what songs have been cut to make room for the new tracks?

On May 9th in Paris, France, Taylor changed the entire Eras Tour setlist as fans know it. Popular songs have now been removed and the eras section order has been moved around.

Here's all the songs in Taylor's Eras Tour setlist, including every song featured in the show, how many songs she plays, every single surprise song and all the 'The Tortured Poets Department' tracks that have been added to the setlist.

Plus, all the updates to the setlist and what to expect for the upcoming European Eras Tour dates.

How many songs does Taylor Swift play on the Eras Tour setlist?

The average Taylor Swift concert used to be around 2 hours long but The Eras Tour is a whole different beast... The concert is a whopping 3 hours and 15 minutes long, and Taylor performs a huge 45 tracks within that timeframe.

Not all the tracks are performed in full – some are shortened versions. There's also a couple of additional little interludes that pop up throughout the show.

For context, on the Rep tour, Taylor performed 19 tracks in total, including several mashups that featured some of her older songs. For The 1989 World Tour, she performed 18 songs, while 17 songs were performed on The Red Tour and the Speak Now World Tour.

Taylor has 'reset' the surprise song list, which means anyone attending a show in 2024 can anticipate hearing a song she's already performed. She previously stated that she will only play each surprise song once during the tour, unless she messes one up.

There's also no rules for Taylor repeating songs from Midnights as surprise songs, which means fans may get to hear the likes of 'You're On Your Own Kid' and 'Snow on the Beach' again at some point in the future.

We'll update this article with every Surprise Acoustic Song – and every surprise song that she will play again – after every show.

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist to include The Tortured Poets Department?

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist?

Aside from a few song changes, the Eras Tour setlist remained the same throughout the 2023 shows and every show up until the release of 'The Tortured Poets Department'. During the first Paris show in May 2024, Taylor changed the order of the setlist, removed six songs and added seven new ones from 'TTPD'.

Fans attending the European shows might end up hearing Taylor perform ' Castles Crumbling ' with Hayley Williams at some point, as Paramore will be supporting her throughout those tour dates. Unlike Phoebe Bridgers and HAIM, who joined Taylor on stage to perform 'Nothing New' and 'No Body, No Crime' respectively on the nights they were support acts, a 'Castles Crumbling' duet might be more likely to appear as a surprise song.

Taylor will finish her European leg in London in August 2024, before returning to North America in November 2024. It's possible that she may make more changes to the final leg of the show.

What are Taylor's most performed songs on tour?

Before she embarked on The Eras Tour, Taylor’s top 3 most performed songs are ‘Love Story’ (491 times), ‘Our Song’ (404 times) and ‘You Belong With Me’ (381 times).

Of course, almost all of Taylor’s most performed songs are from her first two albums. As the list goes on, the 'Speak Now' bops, 'Red' bangers and '1989' hits start to weave their way in.

If you’re wondering what Taylor’s most played songs from her first five albums are, here’s a break down:

  • Taylor Swift : ‘Our Song’, ‘Tim McGraw’ and ‘Picture To Burn’
  • Fearless: ‘Love Story’, ‘You Belong With Me’ and ‘Fifteen’
  • Speak Now : ‘Sparks Fly’, ‘Mean’ and ‘Mine’
  • Red : ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ and ‘Red’
  • 1989 : ‘Shake It Off’, ‘Blank Space’ and ‘Out of the Woods’

Taylor has only had the chance to perform songs from Reputation on the Reputation Stadium Tour so far, but ‘Ready For It?’, ‘Delicate’ and ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ take the top spots when it comes to live performances of the Rep tracks.

Due to the cancellation of Lover Fest, Taylor hasn’t been able to perform Lover on a tour setting. Folklore, Evermore and Midnights will also be making their tour debut on the Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift Kicks Off “The Eras Tour” with Massive 44-Song, Three-Hour Concert: Setlist + Video

Taylor Swift launched her highly-anticipated “The Eras Tour” (get tickets here ) with an instantly-iconic 44-song, three-hour concert at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Friday night.

In living up to the tour’s name, Swift’s setlist touched on all eras of her carer, as performed at least one track from all 10 of her studio albums. Additionally, as this marked Swift’s first tour in five years, the show also marked the live debut for many of the songs featured on her latest collection of albums, including Lover , folklore , evermore , and Midnights .

She opened the show with 2019’s Lover by performing “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince,” “Cruel Summer,” “The Man,” “You Need to Calm Down,” “Lover,” and “The Archer.” Next, she moved to 2008’s Fearless , kicking off with the first performance of the album’s title track in over a decade, followed by “You Belong to Me” and “Love Story.”

As the night continued, Swift time-hopped between various eras: 2020’s evermore , then 2017’s reputation , then 2010’s Speak Now , then 2014’s Red , then 2020’s folklore , then 2014’s 1989 . Though she played only one song — “Enchanted” — from 2010’s Speak Now , that was probably to make room for the 10-minute version of Red ’s “All Too Well” that she played just moments later.

Towards the end of the set, Swift announced that she would be playing a different acoustic song during each show of the tour. For night one of Phoenix, that meant “mirrorball” from folklore .

Swift closed the show by performing selections from her latest album, Midnights , including “Lavender Haze,” “Anti-Hero,” “Midnight Rain,” “Vigilante Shit,” “Bejeweled,” “Mastermind,” and finally “Karma.”

Accompanying the marathon setlist was an impressive stage production that include a life-size Lover house, a massive catwalk, multiple costume changes, choreographed set pieces synced with each performance, fireworks, and oversized LED video screens. At one point, she appeared to dive off the stage and swim “underwater,” before re-emerging on a platform to play “Lavender Haze.” At another point, she burned down the Lover house.

Below, you can find the full “Eras Tour” setlist as well as video from night one of the tour. Swift returns to the stage Saturday for the second of two nights at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, after which she’ll move on to Las Vegas. As one of the first to see the film, TheWrap got the scoop on which songs from the wildly popular tour made the film, and which songs were cut.

After making speeches in multiple auditoriums for separate audiences, Swift, clad in a sky blue floral-patterned dress (probably in theme for “1989 (Taylor’s Version) with her hair pinned up like the signature bob she had when that album first came out), sat back to enjoy the film’s premiere in one of the IMAX screening rooms with her background vocalists and publicist Tree Paine.

The documentary runs 2 hours and 48 minutes, slightly shorter than Swift’s three-hour setlist and performance, which she has brought to 17 of the United States so far in addition to Mexico. The European leg will kick off in November, with Swift returning for 15 more U.S. shows in October and November of 2024. And now you can rent “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” on digital to watch at home. Read on for the 41 songs that made the cut to truly represent all 10 of Swift’s eras.

Now that the film is heading exclusively to Disney+ for streaming , additional acoustic surprise songs will make it into the film, all of which were filmed during the Los Angeles SoFi shows.

Visualizing Taylor Swift Eras Tour's epic 44-song set list and tracking its surprise songs

The eras tour encompasses 44 songs across taylor swift's 10 albums over a three-hour set..

Taylor Swift opened The Eras Tour, her first tour concert since 2018 , on March 17 in Glendale, Arizona, which was temporarily, but officially, renamed Swift City for two days.

The tour runs through Aug. 9, and was originally slated for 52 shows across 20 U.S. cities. In June, Swift announced an additional show in Los Angeles for Aug. 7.

She also announced over 50 more shows for the international leg of the tour that will run from August of this year through August 2024, and take place in at least 18 countries.

Cities on the tour

Each of her shows ran for over three hours and included a 44-song set list. Of those 44, 42 songs were on the main set list and are expected to be played at every show. They include songs from nine of her 10 studio albums.

Songs from main set list by album in order they're played

And the remaining two songs on the 44-song setlist included two surprise songs that were unique to each show. As she explained on opening night before playing the track "mirrorball":

“The plan, the goal, would be to play different songs every single night and never repeat one. Right? So that when you heard one on this tour, you would know it’s the only time that I was going to play it in the acoustic set, unless – caveat – unless I mess it up so badly that I have to do it over again in some other city. Send your best wishes toward me that I don’t do that.”

Each show's surprise songs by album

Swift's discography includes 199 songs from her 10 studio albums, including vault tracks and tracks from deluxe editions, but not additional versions of songs. With 42 of those on the main set list, that leaves over 150 songs as possibilities for surprise songs on the tour, not including songs she's written that aren't on her studio albums.

Taylor swift's surprise songs from night 3 of her edinburgh eras tour show with two mashups, share this article.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour continued its international journey on Sunday night in Scotland (afternoon in the United States) with the final of three shows in Edinburgh. The now 14-time Grammy winner will be touring almost non-stop for the entire year, and at each show she adds two “surprise songs” to her 44-song, three hour plus set list.

For the third night in Edinburgh, Swift first chose a mashup of “It’s Nice To Have A Friend” from Lover with “Dorothea” from Evermore to play on guitar. On piano, she broke out a combination of “Haunted” from Speak Now with “Exile” from Folklore .

Next up, Swift is staying in the United Kingdom as she heads to Liverpool, England for her 100th Eras Tour show on June 13.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour UK setlist and surprise song predictions

Taylor Swift in a white dress performing onstage on the Eras Tour

The Lover House is burned down, Speak Now is fighting for her life, and we’re all afraid of little old Taylor Swift as she brings the Eras Tour to the UK, with the nation preparing for her first concert tonight.

The 34-year-old’s mammoth three-and-a-half-hour set has sold out arenas in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, and six shows in London, kicking off in Edinburgh on Friday night.

UK-based Swifties have really gone all out, with Capital FM releasing a radio station dedicated to the All Too Well icon.

Paris night one revealed an entirely new tour version as the Tortured Poets Department took centre stage and the entire Eras Tour was changed, from bodysuits to choreography.

Fans had already speculated there might be a switch up after she released the Eras Tour film before her tour had finished but this was more than our wildest dreams.

It’s no surprise that Taylor has added in the new album but as the Eras Tour was already incredibly long, some songs were left on the cutting room floor.

The Archer, tis the damn season, and even the last great American dynasty were all brutally ripped from the setlist.

New glittering bodysuits and dresses were rolled out for every era except Reputation, which is the last in the album in the show to get its Taylor’s Version.

So far no vault track appears on her main setlist, only core album songs have a permanent place on the Eras Tour.

Swifties have been left in utter disbelief as Folklore and Evermore were combined into one era, known as the sisters era, to keep the time down.

Speak Now was reduced back down to one song — RIP Long Live — and debut remains reserved for surprise songs in the acoustic set.

Let’s be honest Taylor could perform for six hours and fans would still want more but even she would probably find that exhausting.

After so much upheaval, let’s see what Taylor Swift’s setlist has been left looking like and what that means for the UK.

We’re still going strong opening with Lover but even her seventh studio album and big opener couldn’t survive Taylor’s great setlist war. We’ll miss you, The Archer.

  • Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince
  • Cruel Summer
  • You Need To Calm Down

Fearless Era

The album that made her a superstar remains unscathed but since there were only three songs for this era it’s hardly surprising.

However, a new tasselled bodysuit was revealed and it looks incredibly similar to one worn on the Our Song hitmaker’s original Fearless tour in 2009.

  • You Belong With Me

I’m never recovering from this pic.twitter.com/rNTY9smbVH — B R I T T A N Y 🤍 (@sobrittgoes) May 9, 2024

In a position switch up, the setlist now moved from Fearless into Red instead of Evermore but the songs remain unchanged and All Too Well remains firmly in pride of place.

  • We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
  • I Knew You Were Trouble
  • All Too Well (10 Minute Version)

Speak Now Era

Justice for Speak Now, already balding but now scalped as Long Live has been once more removed.

We’re begging Taylor, I will sacrifice I Knew You Were Trouble for just one more purple-painted dream.

Taylor Swift looking surprised speaking to a fan during The Era's tour

Reputation Era

Yet to have its Taylor’s Version released, Reputation remains unchanged on the mammoth set but has been moved to after Red and Speak Now rather than before.

It’s also the only section that has not had an outfit change, the day that red and black bodysuit goes we’re all going to lose our minds.

  • …Ready For It?
  • Don’t Blame Me
  • Look What You Made Me Do

Folklore/Evermore Era

Once separate totalling 12 songs, Taylor’s lockdown albums have been combined into one – with a lot of casualties.

‘We have reunited the sister albums,’ the singer told the Paris crowd, joking it could be called ‘everlore’ or ‘folkmore’.

Removed from the setlist are: Tis the damn season, the last great American dynasty, invisible string, and tolerate it.

  • Cardigan (folklore)
  • Betty (folklore)
  • Champagne Problems (evermore)
  • August (folklore)
  • Illicit Affairs (folklore)
  • My Tears Ricochet (folklore)
  • Marjorie (evermore)
  • Willow (evermore)

Mother’s favourite child remains safe and sound with no changes and still following the Folklore set. Honestly, we would have loved to see some of this swapped out for the vault tracks which stormed the charts last year.

Bad Blood remains on the setlist, we wonder if Kendrick Lamar is free to come do a surprise live feature…

  • Blank Space
  • Shake It Off
  • Wildest Dreams

The Tortured Poets Department

Initially, Swifties weren’t sure if this would be added and if so how could the 31 tracks possibly be whittled down into just a handful?

A new era brings blessings of brand new outfits, a floating stage set piece, gunshot choreography, and of course some insane vocal moments.

Taylor has spoken and these are (probably) her favourites off TTPD.

  • But Daddy I Love Him
  • So High School
  • Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me
  • The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
  • I Can Do It with a Broken Heart

Surprise songs

Each night Taylor plays two surprise songs from her vast discography, these have included This Love and Clean from 1989 and Dear John and Last Kiss from Speak Now.

Also known as the acoustic set, Paris Night One fans were (obviously) treated to Paris from her album Midnights played on piano and loml on guitar from TTPD.

In this leg of the tour, Taylor has taken to singing some gut-wrenching mashups and announced she could sing whatever she wanted so any song is on the table.

There are some songs it’s likely she’ll reserve for London, such as London Boy and So Long, London but the rest as up for grabs.

Since the slate was wiped clean with this new leg, and Taylor’s penchant for singing You’re On Your Own Kid repeatedly, there’s no way to predict the Mastermind’s moves.

Midnights Era

Closing out the show is the iconic era which gave us ‘Karma is the guy on the chiefs ’ and that chair choreography — Midnights.

Her 2022 album gets sparkling new outfits, although the Lavender Haze fluffy lilac jacket has not been swapped out.

  • Lavender Haze
  • Midnight Rain
  • Vigilante Shit

What is the old Eras Tour setlist?

With so many changes, here’s what Taylor’s Eras Tour used to look like for a setlist run

  • tis the damn season
  • champagne problems
  • tolerate it
  • invisible string
  • the last great american dynasty
  • illicit affairs
  • my tears ricochet

When is the Eras Tour in the UK?

The Eras Tour comes to the UK from tonight , beginning in Edinburgh for three nights before heading to Liverpool, Cardiff, and London .

Who knows what Taylor will have in store for fans given her love for keeping everyone on their toes.

Given the huge overhaul, this is likely to be the setlist for the UK gigs and all her European dates but might have minor tweaks thrown in.

Of course, if you’re sad your favourite track is not on there is always a chance it could be one of the surprise songs as she has no rules around what she can and can’t sing here.

We’re hoping for Picture to Burn, Suburban Legends, The Black Dog , or Hits Different but that tells you far too much about us.

What is Paramore's Eras Tour setlist?

The iconic pop punk band Paramore will be opening for Taylor Swift at the UK gigs and they revealed their setlist in Paris.

Of course, it is much shorter but still packed with hits from the chart-topping band, fronted by Taylor’s long time friend Hayley Williams.

  • Hard Times (+ Heart Of Glass)

Taylor Swift stopped her concert in Edinburgh, Scotland, on Friday to help a fan.

Swift was in the middle of singing her “Midnights” song “Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve” when she noticed a fan who was in distress. In a video that went viral on social media , the singer-songwriter is seen requesting assistance for the fan. “We need help right in front of me, please, right in front of me,” Swift sang while playing her guitar and keeping her eyes locked on the fan. “Just gonna keep playing until we notice where it is.”

After the fan received support, and Swift got the message that they were fine, she said, “You’re good? Awesome!” She then seamlessly returned to singing “Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve.”

The following night in Swift’s three-night run in Edinburgh, she performed “The Bolter” for the first time, which is one of the songs from the Anthology edition of her latest album “The Tortured Poets Department.” She then transitioned to sing “Getaway Car” from “Reputation.”

Swift also added two more songs to her first live performances: a mashup of “Crazier,” a track from 2009’s “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” and “All of the Girls You Loved Before,” a song that was originally slated for her 2019 album “Lover” but was released last year. “You get extra points if you know this next song at all because it is really, really old,” Swift told the crowd at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium in between transitioning from “All of the Girls You Loved Before” to end with “Crazier.”

In the first photo he shared, Heughan posed with his Outlander costar John Hunter Bell with their wrists in the air as they each showed off the stack of friendship bracelets they had worn to the concert. The accessories are a popular staple among Swifties attending the singer’s shows.

Heughan next appeared in a group selfie with more of the Outlander cast in the stands in Murrayfield Stadium during Swift’s show. The costars joining him were Izzy Meikle-Small, Charles Vandervaart, Richard Rankin, Caitlin O’Ryan, Caitriona Balfe, Sophie Skelton, Lauren Lyle and Joey Phillips.

Heughan was seen beaming in third photo as he posed with two others during Swift's concert.

On his Instagram Stories, the actor shared more footage from his time at Swift’s show. First up, he shared a post from the Outlander Instagram Stories, where the TV show wrote "Swiftlander is upon us," above a post from X (formerly Twitter) announcing that the case would be attending the concert.

In another of Heughan's Instagram Stories clips , Swift, 34, appeared in the middle of the stage while singing “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince.” As the camera panned out, various Outlander cast members were seen dancing to the song in their section.

A second funny video showed Swift performing onstage with her dancers in matching hooded capes with the caption, “Swiftlander,” added by Heughan as the theme song of Outlander played over the top.

Heughan’s attendance at Swift’s show comes after the actor jokingly warned that she would forget her boyfriend Travis Kelce when she saw him in the crowd at Saturday's concert.

In a video posted on Instagram on June 5, Heughan said while dressed in costume on set, "We're going to go see Taylor Swift play in Scotland and I think most of the cast is going. She obviously doesn't know this, but when she comes to Scotland and she sees me in the audience, she's going to forget all about ... him [Travis Kelce] and fall for a man in a ginger wig."

"How can she resist?" Heughan added teasingly in a playful jab towards the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. "She's going to shake him off and take me out instead. I'm really excited!"

Taylor swift shuts down show until security helps fan in viral video, taylor swift shuts down show to help fan ... 'i can do this all night'.

Taylor Swift 's serious about her fans' health ... straight-up refusing to sing until security could get to someone who apparently needed help -- and narrating the whole situation.

New video -- now circulating on X -- shows the singer-songwriter onstage in Edinburgh, Scotland Friday ... strumming the notes to her song "Would've, Could've, Should've" before she sees a few of her fans in her crowd she feels need assistance.

Over the microphone, Taylor says there's someone right in front of her who needs help ... and adds she's not going to sing until event staff rushes to aid the fans.

Tay even uses her guitar to point to the group in need ... singing a jaunty, little tune about how she's just going to keep playing her guitar until someone physically gets to the group.

Basically, it takes a while before Swift's able to keep the concert going -- but, her fans seem to love it ... cheering on their queen for keeping an eye out for supporters in trouble.

This is a pretty common theme for the "Eras" tour ... Swift's called attention to fans in trouble in the past -- including in France last weekend where she actually pointed them out to staff in some pretty impressive French.

No need to flex her knowledge of other languages this time ... but, another example of Taylor proving she really cares about her Swifties.

Taylor's got one more show in Edinburgh kicking off this evening before heading a few hours south to Liverpool where she'll play three concerts on Father's Day weekend.

Hopefully, no issues at that performance ... but, we know Swift will be all over it if there are.
