Lil Uzi Vert 2023 NA Tour - Setlist

Produced by Live Nation, the Pink Tape Tour will kick off Oct. 21 in Minneapolis at The Armory, and will travel through cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and Brooklyn. The 17-date tour will end on Nov. 22 in Philadelphia at Wells Fargo Center. Uzi’s third album, Pink Tape, includes their Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit “Just Wanna Rock,” which they performed at the BET Awards in June. Along with performing their Jersey Club anthem, Uzi also dished out their album standout, “Spin Again.” Pink Tape features notable rap stars including Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott and Don Toliver. The rock-laden project also has prominent samples: Uzi reimagines WWE superstar Shinsuke Nakamura’s entrance music for their song “Nakamura” while revisiting System of the Down’s “Chop Suey.” Pink Tape could become the first hip-hop album to score a No. 1 entry on the Billboard 200 in 2023 as it duels with Morgan Wallen’s long-standing No. 1 effort One Thing at a Time. ** 11/ 6 Atlanta Show Updated Setlist + Myron + New Patek + F.F + Buy It (Not on Apple Music) ** Pink Tape, Pink Tape Tour, Lil Uzi Vert, Tour, Setlist, Lil Uzi Vert Tour, Pink Tape Tour, Pink Tape Setlist, Lil Uzi Vert Setlist, Lil Uzi Pink Tape Setlist, Pink Tape Tour Songs, Uzi Tour, Uzi Pink Tape Tour, Oozie, NA, North America, 2023

Audio tour 1823-2023: the bicentennial of the Fresnel lens

QR code

Audio tour Summary

1823-2023: the bicentennial of the Fresnel lens

200 years ago, after several years of experiments, Augustin Fresnel (1788-1827) installed the first lenticular apparatus at the top of Cordouan lighthouse. His invention, the annular lens called the “Fresnel lens”, revolutionized maritime signaling. Fresnel, a physicist, engineer, architect, and visionary, drew heavily upon the theories of his predecessors by readapting them to improve the lighthouse illumination system.

His work gave French engineering a global influence because most lighthouses worldwide are now equipped with Fresnel lenses.

This exposition recounts the whole history of Augustin Fresnel’s invention, from its creation to its current use.

This exposition is part of the commemoration of the bicentennial of the Fresnel lens, an event which was started by the General Secretariat for the sea in collaboration with the French lighthouse association and the association Les Petits Debrouillards.

Taylor Swift's 100th Eras Tour Show Is This Week — Here's What to Expect

Swift kicked off her Eras Tour in March 2023 — and still has over 50 shows to go

izi tour 2023

  • Taylor Swift's 100th Eras Tour show will be Thursday
  • The concert will be in Liverpool, England
  • Swift kicked off the Eras Tour in March 2023

Taylor Swift is about to hit triple digits!

The pop superstar will be performing three nights at Antfield Stadium in Liverpool, England, this week, including what will be her 100th Eras Tour show on June 13. Fans — and the English city — are eager to mark the monumental occasion.

Ahead of the tour stop, the Liverpool City Council created a "trail of art installations across the city," inspired by each of Swift's albums, the BBC reported . These installations include a butterfly, a moss-covered piano, a floral swing bench and a "Red" room. Claire McColgan, director of Liverpool City Council's Culture Liverpool team, told BBC that the installations represented Swift's "exceptional and seismic" impact on the industry and the city. "Even if you have not got a ticket for Taylor you can come to Liverpool and enjoy a bit of Taylor magic," McColgan told the outlet.

Fans are already speculating that the "So High School" singer might have something special up her sleeves, too — especially since the 100th show date includes her lucky number 13. For example, fans have pointed to potential hints Swift may have dropped about a music video for "But Daddy I Love Him" in the color combinations she wore during her 1989 set at her third show in Edinburgh on June 9. Swift has, of course, perviously made special announcements and revealed other surprises throughout the Eras Tour, which kicked off in March 2023. She teased many of those moments via her well-known penchant for Easter eggs.

During the Eras Tour show in Los Angeles on Aug. 9, 2023, the final show of the first U.S. leg of the Eras Tour, Swift announced that the 1989 (Taylor’s Version) re-recording would be released on October 27, 2023. Throughout her performance that night, Swift wore several blue outfits to tease the announcement.

Kevin Winter/TAS23/Getty

“Here we are, on the last night of the U.S. leg of the Eras tour, in the eighth month of the year, on the ninth day," Swift teased before she shared the photo of the new cover art for 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and release date.

The “Anti-Hero” singer also announced Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) ’s release date while on the Eras Tour on May 5, 202, teasing during a Nashville show that she had “been planning something for a while."

John Shearer/TAS23/Getty

"You know how I love to plan things, and how I love to surprise you with the things I plan. It's my love language with you,” Swift told the crowd ahead of the official announcement. “I plot, I scheme, I plan and I get to tell you about it.”

On the day of the Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) announcement at the Eras Tour show at Kansas City on July 7, 2023, Swift surprised fans once again and premiered the music video for " I Can See You, " a vault track from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) , for the first time. Swift even invited her ex Taylor Lautner and Joey King , who starred in the music video, onstage to celebrate the premiere, as well.

John Shearer/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS

Earlier in the tour, Swift surprised concertgoers at MetLife Stadium on May 26, 2023 and premiered the "Karma" music video from her 2022 album Midnights . The music video featured the remixed version of the song that featured Ice Spice in the track and video.

Swift will be performing three nights at the Antfield Stadium in Liverpool, starting on June 13 through June 15. Only time will tell how Swift will mark the big 100th occasion.

FACT SHEET: To Launch Investing in America Tour, the Biden- Harris Administration Kicks off Sprint to Catalyze Workforce Development Efforts for Advanced Manufacturing Jobs and   Careers

Today, to launch the  third Investing in America tour , the Biden-Harris Administration is hosting a White House convening to officially kick off its Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Sprint—an intensive drive to build a diverse, skilled pipeline of workers for good jobs, including union jobs, in advanced manufacturing. The President’s historic Investing in America agenda—including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS and Science Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and American Rescue Plan—is creating strong demand for the skilled advanced manufacturing workers in clean energy, biotechnology, semiconductors, and more. The nationwide sprint is bringing together employers, unions, education and training providers, community-based groups, philanthropic organizations, and state and local governments to take concrete steps to help more Americans train for and succeed in this growing field. Over the next two weeks, as part of the third installment of the Investing in America tour, President Biden and senior Administration officials will travel to communities across the country to highlight the impact of the President’s Bidenomics agenda—including how his Administration is creating manufacturing jobs in industries of the future. To celebrate the official kickoff of the Investing in America tour and the Sprint, President Biden will deliver remarks marking Jobs Day and National Manufacturing Day, citing the 800,000 manufacturing jobs created under his Administration. First Lady Jill Biden is also visiting Dutchess Community College in Fishkill, New York today to attend the launch of a new mechatronics training lab funded in part by the President’s American Rescue Plan. The Advanced Manufacturing Sprint will continue beyond the Investing in America tour and through the end of 2023. The White House invites all interested organizations to join the Sprint by submitting a commitment  at this link . The Sprint builds on significant actions and investments that the Administration has already made to train students and workers for advanced manufacturing jobs and careers—many of which do not require a four-year college degree. In September alone, federal agencies awarded more than $200 million in projects that support the goals of the Sprint—including training the next generation of talent in the semiconductor industry, expanding high-quality workforce pathways into clean energy, and supporting experiential learning in biomanufacturing and other emerging occupations. The convening coincides with the following new actions to expand high-quality pathways into good advanced manufacturing jobs and careers, including:

  • The Department of Labor (DOL) is announcing an Advanced Manufacturing Registered Apprenticeship Accelerator Series that will support hundreds of employers to speed the development and launch of Registered Apprenticeship programs in high-demand occupations, such as industrial manufacturing technicians, robotics technicians, and industrial maintenance mechanics. Since the beginning of this Administration, the number of apprentices in advanced manufacturing Registered Apprenticeship programs has increased by 10 percent—and this effort will build on that growth.
  • BioFabUSA is launching a new Registered Apprenticeship program for biofabrication technicians. This program will provide apprentices, including veterans, with the skills and knowledge essential to earn industry-recognized credentials and advance in a career in healthcare innovation.
  • DOL will convene a national table of leading labor, industry and workforce organizations in the manufacturing sector and support them to develop and lift up workforce solutions that equitably build and grow the next generation of a manufacturing workforce. To support this cross-sector effort, the AFL-CIO Working for America Institute will work with other organizations to develop, scale, and adopt a first-of-its-kind pre-apprenticeship curriculum and standards to provide a pathway for workers and students to a variety of good manufacturing jobs and careers.
  • The AFL-CIO Working for America Institute has created a  new brief to offer best practices and real-world examples of workforce development—including union-community college collaborations—within the building trades and manufacturing industries.
  • The American Federation of Teachers (AFT)—with its affiliates the New York State United Teachers and the United Federation of Teachers—is working with Micron to help students get ready for the thousands of new technical careers in the semiconductor industry. Through the cooperation, AFT and its affiliates are piloting a new framework, teacher training, and work-based learning opportunities. After piloting the framework, it will be made widely accessible—enabling other communities to scale this program that supports the alignment of education and workforce development programs, including for K-12 students and underrepresented students.
  • The National Science Foundation (NSF) and DOL will work together to ensure the incorporation of equity, job quality, and worker empowerment in advanced manufacturing research and workforce development programs across the federal government, including by providing technical assistance to awardees as appropriate.
  • The Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CyManII) has committed to developing and launching a new education and training program for advanced manufacturing professions that will reskill up to 10,000 students through an Introduction to ICS Cybersecurity training for the manufacturing sector. This commitment supports the National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy, in addition to the Sprint.

The convening will also highlight existing efforts to ensure workforce development programs effectively meet the needs of workers and employers, such as:

  • In the Pittsburgh Workforce Hub, the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute and New Century Careers will launch a new rapid short-term, employer-driven training program to help dislocated workers re-enter the workforce in good quality, high-demand manufacturing jobs.
  • In July, in the Columbus Workforce Hub, Columbus State Community College  announced  that it will work with allies across the state to quadruple the number of students trained for engineering technology jobs over the next five years.
  • In August, Siemens’ non-profit arm, the Siemens Foundation, committed $30 million to fund EVeryone Charging Forward, an initiative to advance inclusive workforce development in the EV charging sector with a focus on accessible training opportunities in underserved and underrepresented communities.

Recent federal investments to support advanced manufacturing workforce development include:

  • The NSF Future of Semiconductor (FuSe) program, a public-private partnership with Intel, IBM, Ericsson and Samsung to train the next generation of talent in the semiconductor industry, announced $45.6 million in awards for 24 research and workforce development projects across 47 institutions.
  • The NSF Future Manufacturing program, which makes targeted investments in advanced manufacturing research and workforce development, awarded $35 million to 21 projects across 40 institutions in 25 states for a variety of research and workforce development programs, including manufacturing in space and underwater, AI-based manufacturing, and biological therapeutics. Over the past four years, this program has supported an estimated $137 million in awards.
  • The NSF ExLENT program, a first-of-a-kind training initiative to provide current professionals in any field an experiential learning opportunity that builds the skills and competencies they need to pivot into careers in technologies critical to the nation’s long-term competitiveness, announced the inaugural project cohort of $18.8 million to 27 teams working to build cooperation between research and workforce development in microelectronics, biomanufacturing, energy, and other emerging occupations.
  • Last week, DOL awarded  $94 million  in Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs funding to 34 grantees, 30 of which will target renewable energy and transportation sectors that can include advanced manufacturing occupations.
  • This summer, DOL awarded 19 states more than  $35 million  through the State Apprenticeship Expansion Grants that will focus on advanced manufacturing as a target sector for expanding Registered Apprenticeship programs.
  • In September, the Department of Defense awarded six Defense Manufacturing Community Support Program (DMCSP) grants totaling approximately $30 million from the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation. The DMCSP makes long-term investments in critical skills, facilities, workforce development, research and development, and small business support to strengthen the national security innovation base.

During the convening, Lael Brainard, Director of the National Economic Council, Neera Tanden, Director of the Domestic Policy Council, and Dr. Arati Prabhakar, Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy will join senior leaders from companies, unions, community colleges, Manufacturing USA institutes, and other organizations to discuss how to leverage the Sprint to continue to build collaborations to enhance the quality of advanced manufacturing jobs and ensure workforce development programs effectively meet the needs of workers and employers. The Biden-Harris Advanced Manufacturing Sprint builds on the Administration’s prior workforce sprints, which have driven commitments to equitable workforce development and job quality improvement to address critical needs. These include efforts to expand Registered Apprenticeships in  trucking  and  cybersecurity , and to build pathways into good jobs and careers in broadband, electrification, and construction through the  Talent Pipeline Challenge . It also supports the goals of  the plan  to expand education and training opportunities to biotechnology and biomanufacturing released in July.

How a Russian operative worked to shape Moscow’s story in Europe

LONDON (Tribune News Service) — A Russian intelligence operative who is leading a Kremlin disinformation campaign in Africa has helped run influence operations in Europe for years, according to documents seen by Bloomberg and government officials familiar with the matter.

Artem Kureyev, identified as a Russian Federal Security Service agent in an Estonian court case in 2022, has had frequent contacts with at least half a dozen European journalists, arranged and covered travel costs for some of them to visit occupied territories in Ukraine, and at times appears to have offered to pay for planted news articles, the documents show.

On other occasions he has adopted more subtle methods to try to sway coverage, by arranging interviews, flagging and debating topics in the news or organizing press events.

The Group of Seven nations and the European Union have made combating Russian disinformation and influence operations a top priority ahead of a leaders’ summit in Italy this month. Those efforts have included publicly exposing Russian campaigns and methods, sanctioning outlets and individuals, and coordinating responses to Moscow’s actions, as well as striving to prevent disinformation spreading on major technology platforms.

Still, countering such disinformation campaigns isn’t easy as they’re aimed at sowing confusion and doubt in target audiences rather than convincing people of a particular set of facts, in order to polarize societies on issues such as migration, war or the West’s relations with the rest of the world.

The documents provide deep insight into the operations and methods of one Russian intelligence operative involved in influence campaigns in Europe. There will be many others like him running similar operations across the continent and elsewhere.

The U.S. State Department in February called out Russia’s intelligence services for providing material support and guidance to a new information agency called “African Initiative.” It said the project spread “deadly disinformation” about the United States and Europe, including on a mosquito-borne viral disease outbreak in an attempt to undermine public health programs.

It named Kureyev as the initiative’s chief editor and said the project had also recruited members from the “disintegrating enterprises” of the late Wagner mercenary group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, who died in a plane crash last year.

The Federal Security Service, known as the FSB, and African Initiative didn’t respond to requests to comment on Kureyev.

Kureyev was also named by The Insider investigative website in January as a contact of a Latvian lawmaker in the outgoing European Parliament, Tatjana Zdanoka, that the outlet accused of cooperating with Russian intelligence. Zdanoka, who didn’t run in the weekend’s European Parliament elections, denied the allegations in a Facebook statement. Her office said in an email that Zdanoka saw Kureyev once in Brussels at an event in the European Parliament but beyond that she doesn’t known anything further about him.

The Kremlin denies Russia is engaged in disinformation campaigns in Europe. Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, in January dismissed espionage accusations against Zdanoka as a “witch hunt” comparable to the McCarthyism era in the U.S. in the 1950s. “How many people were arrested and thrown into prison on charges of having relations with communists or the KGB?” he told reporters. “This is the same thing.”

One of the authors of The Insider’s story, ex-Bellingcat reporter Christo Grozev, claimed last year that a journalist from North Macedonia called Darko Todorovski had received payments to get stories published in Bulgaria.

A Russian document seen by Bloomberg indicates that Kureyev had agreed to pay Todorovski 300 euros for articles in two publications. It’s not known if or when such payments were made.

Todorovski said he took part in three visits to military zones in Ukraine organized for journalists by Russia’s Defense Ministry. He knew Kureyev through these press tours as someone with a media company who had been “collaborating with many journalists from different countries, including the West,” he said Monday in emailed answers to questions.

Todorovski said articles he wrote about these visits were published in Bulgaria, though he denied Grozev’s allegation about payments. “Statements without evidence that I received money and instructions are not serious,” he said.

According to the documents, correspondence between the two men from 2021 to 2023 includes instructions for distributing and finding articles in Russian and English translations on fringe websites such as londonnewstime.com and veteranstoday.com, as well as hotel bookings made by Kureyev for two of Todorovski’s stays in Russia in April last year.

Todorovski said he had an invitation at the time to take part in TV programs about Asia “and there was a conference and working meeting at the university.” He added that since he takes part in many conferences and forums, he cannot know who pays for all his hotels. Todorovski said he met Kureyev in 2022, in Russia.

Some of the exchanges echo the techniques of a typical pro-Russian propaganda campaign, which often include fabricated news stories planted on fringe websites and then amplified through social media posts or picked up by state media outlets.

One European government official said Kureyev and Todorovksi were last year involved in working on a website called “antibellingcat,” dedicated to discrediting the investigative outlet.

Todorovski said he left the project a year ago and he believed it was no longer active.

The European official, who asked not to be identified because the information is sensitive, said Kureyev has had contact with Russia’s GRU military intelligence about some aspects of his European influence operations. The GRU didn’t respond to a request to comment.

Separate documents show that Kureyev booked and paid the flights for a group of journalists to visit Crimea in 2023, long after Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine had begun. Russia seized Crimea in 2014, prompting international sanctions in response.

Kureyev has been in contact with other reporters since Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine and for years prior to that.

Documents indicate that he and another intelligence officer met separately with at least one reporter from an EU member state in Russia, Turkey and elsewhere. On at least two occasions, in August 2019 and in March 2022, the journalist’s Russian contacts covered the travel costs.

Though many of these discussions relate to news coverage, such as facilitating interviews or arranging trips to Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine, the documents don’t provide evidence that any of these journalists’ work is directed or funded by Moscow.

In 2021, Kureyev was in contact with journalists and intermediaries as part of a plan to engage the press in European nations around Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council, according to some of the documents. One of the intermediaries reached out to several local journalists in a Nordic country but it’s not clear if any of them replied.
