This is not a drill. Roger Waters farewell tour set for 2023

Roger Waters’ This Is Not A Drill European tour will be held over the Spring/Summer of 2023. Waters will play 40 shows across 14 European countries, starting in Lisbon on 17 March 17 2023 at the Altice Arena.

The show features 20 Pink Floyd and Roger Waters classic songs, including Us & Them, Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here and Is This The Life We Really Want? In addition, Waters debuts a new song, The Bar.

Roger Waters: This Is Not A Drill – 2023 European Tour

“This Is Not A Drill is a groundbreaking new rock and roll/cinematic extravaganza,” Roger Waters said. “Performed in the round, it is a stunning indictment of the corporate dystopia in which we all struggle to survive and a call to action to Love, Protect and Share our precious and precarious planet home.

“The show includes a dozen great songs from Pink Floyd’s Golden Era alongside several new ones, words and music, same writer, same heart, same soul, the same man. Could be his last hurrah. Wow! My first farewell tour! Don’t miss it”.

Waters, on lead vocals, guitars, bass and piano, will be joined on stage by Jonathan Wilson on guitars and vocals, Dave Kilminster on guitars and vocals, Jon Carin on keyboards, guitar and vocals, Gus Seyffert on bass and vocals, Robert Walter on keyboards, Joey Waronker on drums, Shanay Johnson on vocals, Amanda Belair on vocals and Seamus Blake on saxophone.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, 30 September at 1 pm GMT from Live Nation.

Roger Waters performing in Birmingham.

Roger Waters review – embattled singer vows ‘I will not be cancelled’

Utilita Arena, Birmingham Ex-Pink Floyd singer jettisons imagery that has led to accusations of antisemitism in Germany – and the result makes for a more powerful show

‘I f you’re one of those ‘I love Pink Floyd but I can’t stand Roger’s politics’ people, then you might do well to fuck off to the bar,” announces the singer via a recorded message before the show. There isn’t a mass stampede, although the “can’t stand Roger’s politics” people have certainly been vocal lately. He’s been called an antisemite and “Putin apologist” by Polly Samson , wife of ex-bandmate David Gilmour, who gave her tweet his approval. Waters has condemned the invasion of Ukraine but been denounced in the country for also saying it “was not unprovoked” , views which led to Polish concerts being cancelled. He won a legal battle to perform in Frankfurt after more accusations of antisemitism (which he denies). Last week it was reported that German police are investigating him over a “Nazi-style” costume worn on stage in Berlin.

Here, Waters tackles all this head-on. A screened statement points out that a satirical “depiction of an unhinged fascist demagogue” has been part of his shows since The Wall in 1980 and that his father was killed fighting the Nazis. Then he launches into a 10-minute tirade in which he decries his “brutal” treatment in Germany and says that the Daily Mail, the Times and the Daily Telegraph are trying to destroy him over his support for human rights in Palestine. “They’re trying to cancel me like they cancelled Jeremy Corbyn and Julian Assange,” he rages. “I will not be cancelled.” By the time he thanks the crowd for their support, the 79-year-old is tearful. “I’m fucking dying here,” he pleads.

Roger Waters on stage in Birmingham.

There’s no sign of the “Nazi-style” leather coat in this performance. Nor, unlike previous tours, is there a star of David on the Pink Floyd-style flying pig or any other antisemitic tropes. When Waters wades into the Palestine/Israel situation, it’s with a sensitivity he hasn’t always demonstrated. There are images of Palestinians living in shacks and the slogan “You can’t have humanitarian rights and an occupation.” Notably, among images of people murdered by authoritarian forces such as Blair Peach and 22-year old Iranian Mahsa Amini, there’s one of Anne Frank, above the words “Her crime? Being Jewish,” though to many, this might seem belated, even insultingly so.

As ever with Waters, much of the show veers between anti-war, anti-imperialist and humanitarian. A funereal version of Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb is illustrated by images of bombed out buildings, as if to suggest we’re numbed to warfare. Various US presidents are branded “war criminals”. Screen messages support everything from Black Lives Matter to trans rights. Some of the imagery – dollars for Money – feels a bit hokey, but the faces of children killed in war are haunting. Waters chillingly suggests “we’re closer to a nuclear confrontation than ever before”. However, apart from a screen slogan about “fucking oligarchs” and a fleeting image of Putin, references to Russia or Ukraine are conspicuously absent, which might be an attempt to defuse further controversy but seems an extraordinary omission from a supposed anti-war campaigner.

For all the sloganeering (“Fuck the patriarchy!”, “Free Assange!”, or “Control the narrative!” during Another Brick in the Wall) much of this show is personal. The new piano-led The Bar – composed in lockdown about the virtues of the pub – is lovely and there are touching reminiscences about Syd Barrett when they were kids. There’s lots to thrill the “I love Pink Floyd” people, with swathes of the classic Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here albums rendered by a stellar band. The latter’s title track, taken up by the entire crowd as a wider anthem of loss, is beautifully moving. The show is a triumph of staging, with remote-controlled flying sheep, cross-shaped screens the length of the arena and almost two and a half hours of music that ends with an ovation. Waters’ politics will continue to anger many, but anyone fleeing for the bar will miss a true spectacular.

Roger waters ruined his own concert after telling fans to ‘f*** off’.

LONDON, ENGLAND - JUNE 06: Roger Waters performs on stage at The O2 Arena during the 'This is Not A ... [+] Drill' tour, on June 06, 2023 in London, England. (Photo by Jim Dyson/Getty Images)

Roger Waters made his return to the stage this past Sunday, October 8, at the iconic London Palladium, and it ended up being a headline-grabbing concert...but for all the wrong reasons.

Fans and critics alike had high hopes for the show, especially since it marked the rocker’s first live performance since the release of his latest project, The Dark Side of the Moon Redux . Sadly, what transpired that evening left many concertgoers bewildered and disappointed.

The 80-year-old Pink Floyd legend decided to spend a significant and early portion of the evening reading excerpts from his yet-to-be-published memoir, which is apparently titled Dark Side of the Moon: Memoirs of a Lanky Prick . He didn’t set the words to music or interpret them in any way. Instead, it appears he simply sat at a desk with his laptop open, reading. That’s it.

While some super fans likely enjoyed hearing about Water’s past, not all the tales were about his rock and roll life. In fact, one of the most peculiar stories he chose to share with the audience revolved around a duck named Donald. This narrative unfolded for an excruciating 20 minutes, pushing the patience of the audience to its limits.

As restlessness began to permeate the theater, Waters seemed unfazed and continued to read from his laptop, a decision that would soon prove to be one the crowd didn’t care for. In a moment of frustration, he lashed out at the fans who had come to enjoy his musical performance, berating them for their growing impatience.

"If you want to tell stories, tell them in your own time to your own audience in your own f***ing theatre," Waters exclaimed to his own fans, as reported by Daily Mail . "By the way, if you can show constraint and stop shouting again." He later said, reportedly , simply, “F*** off.”

This unexpected outburst caught many by surprise. The use of explicit language and Waters' dismissive attitude towards his own audience left a sour taste in the mouths of those in attendance.

The National News reports that the audience had been given the heads-up that the show would be split into different sections, including one that ended up being all about his memoir. That warning wasn’t enough for some, though.

In the aftermath of the incident, some concertgoers chose to leave, likely feeling disrespected and let down by the rocker. After he continued to read, Waters and his band did play for a full concert, but by then, some of those who had purchased a ticket had already left.

Waters went back to the same venue and played a second show the following night to another crowd, who were likely apprehensive if they’d read about what had happened the night prior.

The former Pink Floyd musician is promoting his new album The Dark Side of the Moon Redux , a reworking of the band’s iconic The Dark Side of the Moon album, which is regarded as one of the most important titles in rock history.

Roger Waters Doubles Down on Controversial Comments and Conspiracy Theories at London Show: Concert Review

“I know you didn’t come here to listen to this,” sighed Roger Waters as he surveyed the O2 crowd.

With most aging rockers on a “first-ever farewell tour,” that statement would likely mean they were about to play some new material. At Roger Waters’ show, sadly, it meant he was about to sing the same old song.

Sure enough, an extended rant against “the Israeli lobby” and British MP Christian Wakeford followed.

Wakeford recently raised concerns in the House of Commons about the show. The MP undoubtedly got some of his facts wrong (for example, the inflatable pig on these dates is not emblazoned with a Star of David, although such a prop did feature on a previous tour), but whether that justifies calling him “a fucking moron,” let alone a “cripple” – a term that drew a sharp intake of breath from some in even this largely indulgent crowd – is rather more open to debate.

After all, Wakeford is hardly the only person to have had issues with these gigs. It’s not often you have to cross a picket line to collect your tickets to a rock show, but as the crowd arrives, a few dozen protestors are outside the O2 to greet them, chanting, “Another Brick in the Wall”-style, “Hey! Roger! Leave us Jews alone!”

Earlier this year, Polly Samson, the wife of former Pink Floyd bandmate David Gilmour, branded Waters “antisemitic to your rotten core” (Gilmour endorsed the tweet, which doesn’t exactly bode well for any potential Floyd reunion). Ukrainians have been up in arms over Waters’ pronouncement that the Russian invasion of their country “was not unprovoked” (which also led to Polish dates being scrapped). And the U.S. State Department has denounced his Berlin appearance as “deeply offensive to Jewish people” after German police reportedly launched an investigation into his wearing of a “Nazi-style” leather trench coat at that show.

That’s true, but it doesn’t really address the protestors’ point. After all, there are plenty of things that rock stars did in 1980 that they wouldn’t dream of attempting in 2023. Times have changed, but Waters has seemingly decided not to move with them, while complaining about the consequences (such as they are: the platform afforded by two nights at the U.K.’s most prestigious arena doesn’t exactly scream “canceled” to most people).

There had been signs earlier in this U.K. leg that perhaps Waters was dialing back some of the show’s more controversial elements. But tonight, he seemed happy to double down.

So, the controversial trenchcoat, complete with crossed hammers insignia, which was not worn in Birmingham, reappeared after the interval as he hollered, “Are there any paranoids in the arena tonight?” to the sound of gunfire, ahead of an undeniably powerful “Run Like Hell.”

And there’s the rub: when Waters stuck to rock star accoutrements that were acceptable in both the ‘80s and the present day (Guitar solos! Spaced-out jams! Syd Barrett anecdotes!), “This Is Not a Drill” was a more than satisfactory rock show.

His band may have occasionally looked more sheepish than the giant inflatable ewe that floated around the arena, but they played the hell out of Floyd classics such as “Comfortably Numb,” “Have a Cigar,” “Shine on You Crazy Diamond,” “Money” and “Brain Damage,” while Waters’ solo material has rarely sounded more accessible.

Visually, the show was certainly arresting, although Waters’ habit of displaying slogans that no one would disagree with (“Fuck Bombing People!” “We All Need Rights!”) alongside more contentious statements (branding successive U.S. presidents as “war criminals”) seemed disingenuous. And, while he did include Anne Frank (“Crime: Being Jewish”) in the on-screen depiction of people killed by “tyrannical regimes,” there appeared to be no mention of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in the anti-war sections, even when he warned that “we are closer to nuclear disaster than the human race has ever been.”

The ex-Pink Floyd man’s ability to speak passionately about nuclear disarmament and his love of Bob Dylan may have muddied the, um, Waters enough for this crowd – nearly all of them old enough to have heard these songs first time around – to be convinced by his “freedom of speech” argument.

Certainly, no one took him up on the pre-show suggestion that “if you’re one of those ‘I love Pink Floyd, but I can’t stand Roger’s politics’ people, then you might do well to fuck off to the bar.” And Waters seemed to end the night emboldened, clearly genuinely touched at being “in this big room with all of you loving me.”

Michael F.

Wahnsinnig tolle Show.

The show must go on…“).

Jahrzehnte. The show must go on…die nächste Station: Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets Ende Juli in Pompeji.

Roger Waters calls U2’s Bono “disgusting” and “a shit”

“Anybody who knows Bono should go and pick him up by his ankles and shake him… until he stops being an enormous shit”

Bono and Roger Waters in 2023

Roger Waters has lashed out at U2 frontman Bono , describing him as “disgusting” and “a shit”.

The comments against the Irish rock singer arose in a new interview with Waters, and saw the Pink Floyd musician criticise the former for his previous comments on the Israel-Hamas war.

Speaking during one of their Sphere residency shows in Las Vegas, Bono used the performance to pay his respects to those killed during the October 7 attack at the Israeli music festival Supernova .

“In the light of what’s happened in Israel and Gaza, a song about non-violence seems somewhat ridiculous, even laughable, but our prayers have always been for peace and for non-violence,” he told the crowd before launching into a performance of ‘Pride (In The Name Of Love)’. “But our hearts and our anger, you know where that’s pointed. So sing with us… and those beautiful kids at that music festival.”

He then played the song with altered lyrics, singing “ Early morning, Oct. 7, the sun is rising in the desert sky… Stars of David, they took your life but they could not take your pride ,” in place of the original lines.

Now, Waters – who has been a longtime critic of the State of Israel – has taken aim at the musician for his comments during a new interview with Al Jazeera (via Clash ) , and branded the comments made at the live show “disgusting”.

“My mother told me, when faced with difficult problems, the first thing to do is to read—read, read, read. Then, the next part is easy: do the right thing,” he told the outlet, referring to his own family background that saw his father killed in the Second World War.

“Anybody who knows Bono should go and pick him up by his ankles and shake him… until he stops being an enormous shit.”

“We have to start saying to these people, your opinion is so disgusting and so degrading… sticking up for the Zionist entity,” he added. “What he did a couple of weeks ago in the Sphere in Las Vegas, singing about the Stars of David, was one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen in my life.”

This is far from the first time that Waters has openly criticised Israel. Over recent months, the outspoken former Pink Floyd member has been in the news for his comments on the conflict in Palestine and accusations of anti-Semitism.

He has repeatedly denied all accusations of anti-Semitism and explained that his disdain is towards Israel, not Judaism. He also accused Israel of “abusing the term anti-Semitism to intimidate people like me into silence” .

He was recently the subject of a documentary , The Dark Side Of Roger Waters , which was produced by the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism and collates various incidents of alleged anti-Semitism levelled against the musician.

Rogers spoke out against the documentary with a post to his official website , dismissing the project as “a flimsy, unapologetic piece of propaganda” . He later claimed that it “indiscriminately mixes things I’m alleged to have said or done at different times and in different contexts, in an effort to portray me as an anti-Semite, without any foundation in fact”.

Roger Waters performs on stage at The O2 Arena during the 'This is Not A Drill' tour, on June 06, 2023 in London, England

The documentary highlights a controversial concert in Germany back in May 2023, which was criticised by the US State Department who described it as “deeply offensive to Jewish people”. The gig saw him appear on stage wearing a black trench coat with a swastika-like emblem . At the time the musician defended the choice, claiming that the segment was a statement against fascism, injustice and bigotry and called criticism of it “disingenuous and politically motivated”.

In April, Waters won a legal battle to play a concert in Frankfurt after it was initially cancelled over claims of anti-Semitism , and last month it was reported that he had been dropped by his label BMG over his comments on Israel .

As for U2, over the weekend the Irish rock band once again used their residency shows in Las Vegas to make a political statement – using their Saturday show to pay tribute to the Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny , who was imprisoned in a Russian penal colony and suddenly died on Friday (February 16).

Highlights: Roger Waters against Bono because of his tribute to those murdered at the Nova festival: "Shake him by the ankles" - voila! culture. The singer of the band Pink Floyd, who is already known for his anti-Semitic remarks, did not like Bono's on-stage tribute to the murdered Nova Festival. "What he did at 'Safra' in Las Vegas, singing about Magni David, was one of the most disgusting things I've seen in my life," Waters said.

Roger Waters, who is considered one of the most prominent voices against Israel in the world, once again expresses his opinion regarding the war in Gaza.

This time in the crosshairs, again: the lead singer of the band U2, Bono, whose tribute to those murdered in the barbaric massacre at the Nova festival did not go down well with the lead singer of the former band Pink Floyd.

"Everyone who knows Bono should pick him up by the ankles and shake him. Until he stops being a huge piece of shit," Waters said in an interview with the Qatari news network Al Jazeera.

"We have to start telling these people, your opinion is so disgusting and so humiliating... to stick to the Zionist entity. What he did at 'Safra' in Las Vegas, singing about Magni David, was one of the most disgusting things I've seen in my life."

On October 9, at a U2 concert at their permanent venue in Las Vegas, the band's lead singer changed some of the lyrics of the song "Pride" as a tribute to those murdered at the Barai festival, as part of the surprise war from Gaza and the invasion of Israel.

"I want to sing for our brothers and sisters, who themselves sang at the 'Nova Sukkot' festival in Israel," said Bono at the beginning of the song.

"We sing for them, our people, people like us, music people, fun lovers, people who like to experiment, our own people. We sing for them."

And when he got to the third stanza in the song, he changed it and sang it like this (in a free translation): "Early in the morning, October 7 / The sun rises in the desert sky / From the stars of David, they took your lives / They will not be able to take your pride."

Afterwards, Bono told the crowd: "A festival of music and peace. Can you take in what these bastards did?".

Waters said his words to Al Jazeera even before another reference by U2 on stage to the events in Israel and Palestine.

In a new video uploaded by the band on Instagram, Bono said: "Seeing what the children of Abraham have been doing to each other around the world for a thousand years, and even today - it's confusing. Christians, Muslims, Jews. It's confusing. To see the suffering of the Palestinian children, after we've seen the suffering of the Israeli children, it is almost too much. I understand how ridiculous 'love your neighbor as yourself' sounds at the moment, but it is a divine commandment and not advice. Easy to say but almost impossible to carry out."

He then began to sing "Peace on Earth".

Next to the video on Instagram it is written: "Peace on earth, we need it now... They are calling names on the radio, the people we will never get to know... Gal and Ayat, Hind and Mila. Their lives are bigger than any big idea."

A post shared by U2 (@u2).

Last November, less than a month after October 7, Waters justified the massacre carried out by Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Envelope and made fun of the numbers of the murdered that Israel published.

In an interview with American journalist Glenn Greenwald, Waters said: "My first reaction to the attack was, 'Let's wait and see what happened. The second thought was, 'How the hell did the Israelis not know this was going to happen?! The Israeli army didn't hear the explosions at the bases when Hamas blew up the border fence?! There's something strange about that."

When asked by the interviewer if it is possible to justify the massacre by Hamas, Waters replied: "We don't know exactly what they did. Is it justified to resist the occupation? Yes, but it's the Geneva Convention. Morally they have to resist the occupation that started in 1967. This their duty."

Regarding the killing of the Israeli citizens, Waters said: "Of course I'm not in favor of it, but it was blown out of proportion, the Israelis made up stories about beheading babies."

His words led to a series of cancellations in the hotels he was supposed to stay in as part of his South American tour.

Hotels in Argentina, Uruguay and Colombia refused to accommodate him.

In addition, at the end of January, the record company BMG canceled the contract with Waters following his anti-Semitic statements.

According to a report in "Variety", the German company - considered one of the largest in the world - will say goodbye to Waters, the founder of Pink Floyd, due to his controversial statements towards Israel, Ukraine and the United States.

The company signed a deal with the musician in 2016 and was due to release a re-recorded version of Pink Floyd's 1973 album Dark Side of the Moon last year, but new CEO Thomas Kosfeld canceled the deal after taking up his new role on July 1, 2023. The album Will eventually be released via UK label Cooking Vinyl.

D uring U2’s concert at Sphere in Las Vegas, on Saturday, February 17, Bono paid tribute to Russian politician and activist Alexei Navalny, who died the previous day in a Russian prison at age 47.

After the band played “Angel of Harlem,” the singer pointed out that the next week would mark the two-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“For these people, ‘freedom’ is not just a word in a song,” Bono told the crowd as The Edge strummed an acoustic guitar. “For these people, ‘freedom’ is the most important word in the world, so important that Ukrainians are fightin’ and dyin’ for it. And so important that Alexei Navalny chose to give his up.”

Bono then noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin would never say Navalny’s name, adding, “So I thought tonight people who believe in freedom, we must say his name. Not just remember it, but say it.” He then led the crowd in a chant, “Alexei Navalny. Alexei Navalny! Alexei Navalny!”

Bono then sang a cover of Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over,” accompanied only by The Edge.

About Alexei Navalny

Navalny was one of Putin’s fiercest critics, calling out the Russia’s governing party as “crooks and thieves.” In 2020, Navalny was hospitalized after being poisoned, and he was brought to Berlin for medical treatment. An investigation implicated Russia’s Federal Security Service as being responsible.

After he recovered, Navalny decided to return to Russia and he was immediately arrested and imprisoned. He received multiple extended sentences charging him with extremism and other crimes before his death.

Bono Address Israel-Palestine Conflict, Sings U2 Rarity

Meanwhile, at U2’s latest show at the Sphere, on Saturday, February 18, the band played its 2000 song “Peace on Earth” for the first time since 2001.

Leading into the song, Bono gave a speech about the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.

“To see what the children of Abraham have been doing to each other all over the world for millennia, as well as this very day, it’s bewildering—Christians, Muslims, Jews,” he told the crowd. “To see the suffering of the Palestinian children after we saw the suffering of the Israeli children was almost too much.”

He continued, “And I understand how ridiculous ‘love thy enemy’ sounds right now. We can’t live with ‘love thy neighbor,’ even in our band, in our country, but it is a divine commandment and not advice. Easy to say, almost impossible to enact.”

Roger Waters’ Criticism of Bono

Bono’s onstage comments came after a recent interview Roger Waters did with Al Jazeera , in which the former Pink Floyd member and outspoken critic of Israel called out the U2 singer for an onstage homage he paid to the victims of the Hamas terror attacks at an October 2023 show in Las Vegas.

“Anybody who knows Bono should go and pick him up by his ankles and shake him until he stops being a [giant] s—,” Waters declared. He added, “What he did in the Sphere in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago, singing about the Stars of David, was one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen in my life.”

At U2’s October 8, 2023, concert at the Sphere venue, Bono changed a line in the band’s hit “Pride (In the Name of Love)” from “Free at last, they took your life,” to “Stars of David, they took your life.” The performance took place a day after Hamas militants killed and kidnapped many Israelis in a series of coordinated attacks, including an assault on a music festival.

U2’s Remaining Residency Dates

U2 only has four shows left in its Las Vegas residency at Sphere. The concerts are scheduled for February 23 and 24, and March 1 and 2.

Tickets are on sale now via various outlets, including StubHub .

Fuckin brilliant.

Natural performer. Like his dad sometimes but clearly brilliant in his own right. Absolutely mind blowing gig. 2 ladies on vocals were incredible too. Pal...Kenny Dawson had seen him 3 times before...my first time. Fantastic night....superb gig. Brilliant musicians

Baxter is a salamander, an urban goose and we are getting to know how successful he is. Enigmatic and cheeky. Lovely band with him too, actually preferred the early stuff he did, some of current album sounded like it was reaching to achieve the studio sound.

Gorilla Mcr is good venue, intimate. But why do some people go to gigs and talk throughout! Stay home assholes.

barry-tench’s profile image

Ian Dury was a gifted lyricist, an enigmatic performer and when he sadly passed in 2000, he was described as ‘one of few true originals of the English music scene’. It’s clear when watching him live that his son Baxter Dury has inherited many of his dad’s talents.

Similar to his father, the focus of the show is on Baxter’s voice and if you listen closely to his faint yet dominant wisp you’ll be rewarded with some truly thought provoking lyrics. Baxter is an unhinged force on stage. With the slightly uneasy feel of watching a man on the edge of breakdown, the crowd daren’t look away. Baxter stumbles round the stage occasionally erupting with screams of anguish, a force of loose energy barley contained by the confines of the stage whilst all the while, his band play on, hammering down a steady post-punk rhythm and providing a stark contrast to the unpredictability of Baxter.

If you are prepared for a deeply unpredictable show, riddled with a dark humour and an engaging energy, make sure you check out Baxter Dury.

Traveler Reviews

I cant recommend this tour highly enough. I asked a friend to recommend one thing to do with limited time in Moscow and he said, check out the metro. I did one better, and went on this individual tour yesterday with my very well informed guide, Alina. She took me to a number of stations and explained the history, politics and meanings behind the different sculpures and artworks in a way that made the whole experience far more meaningful than getting on and off the metro without guidance would have done. I had a really fantastic time and was thoroughly impressed. To top it all off, we had lunch and Alina suggested some great things for me to do, even whatsapping me maps, suggestions, and internet links. Today she followed up by messaging me to ask how my day was going and if I had any questions about the city, or recommendations for places to eat, etc. A great tour, a lovely guide and a fantastic experience. I couldnt recommend this tour, or Alina, any more highly. Fantastic!

Dear Friends,

My son and myself visited Moscow for a holiday in April 2018. And we had selected this fantastic tour. Our Guide Mrs. Julia came sharp at 10.00 AM even though she was not feeling well and had sore throat. Thereafter she took us to many Metro stations. Though I had already visited Moscow last year and seen all these stations, she gave phenomenal historic background and many interesting facts. She was almost fluent in English and and a good knowledge of Russian Culture, food and many other things. Overall we enjoyed thoroughly and I will highly recommend this tour with Julia if possible. Truly amazing person. And even more amazing tour.

Our Tour booked for 26 December 2017 was absolutely amazing. Our guide Julia picked us up from our Hotel in St Peterburg on time in a luxury minivan. Thanks to Julia we were able to see most of the tourist attractions that day. She went out of her way for us to make our day special. She had a vast knowledge of all the places that we visited. Lunch was special in a typical Russian restaurant with food from the region. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Picked up in the hotel lobby by our guide, Lylie, who then walked us to the closest Metro. She walked/trained us to 13 different stations and then explained the history of the metro and the significance of the decor in each station. We had plenty of time to photo, view the decor, watch and ride the trains and observe the people coming and going with their daily affairs. The art work/mosaics/sculptures/stained glass/ marble all had a role to play in presenting the history of communist Russia. The Russian metro well deserves the title of the most interesting and outstanding metro in the world. Lylie then took us to lunch, advised us on menu choices and their significance in the Russian culture and was very happy answering our questions on how the younger generation is responding to the new Russia. We had an outstanding guide, a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this tour over and above other tours which merely include a visit to a small number of stations. Lesley and David - Sydney

Great guide! She explained everything and took me to all the important stations. She knew her stuff! Worth it!

Our guide ,Dacha, was charming and very informative. We took the 2 hour tour and saw what Dacha thought were the most beautiful and interesting metro stations. The Metro is certainly worthy of its museum status and we were glad to have some of the designs and features explained to us.

Greenblatt schreibt in seinem Brief an BMG:
