More and more gear is standardized across the teams in the Tour de France . Everyone is using either SRAM or Shimano. Most use the same gearing too. And while the teams have largely seemed to settle on 28 mm tires, there are a few exceptions. We searched the team paddocks to take a closer look at what everyone is riding.

What road bike tires do the best teams in the Tour de France ride? What width do they use, and why? We dive into all of that and more below.

Continental: Nine teams

What is the most commonly used bike tire at the Tour de France? That crown belongs Continental. For those using the German tire manufacturer, they’re going with the Continental Grand Prix 5000, and almost always in a 28 mm width.

That said, there are several permutations to this rule. A number of teams have elected to use the lighter GP 5000 TT TR tire. The TT model features both a thinner casing and thinner tread thickness than the S, resulting in a tire that offers 30-40 grams less rotational weight.

Interestingly, we haven’t yet seen an entire team run the GP 5000 TT TR across the team. UAE Team Emirates comes close, though notably Tadej Pogacar’s bikes feature the standard S model. The same goes with Ineos Grenadiers, with a select few riders not using the lighter tire.

There’s another variation with Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale using what looks like a front wheel–specific aero tire made by Continental. We talk more about the new Conti aero tire here . This new front tire is paired with a GP5000 S TR tire out back.

All of these 28 mm tires measure about 29 mm, give or take a 0.1 mm here or there. The exception is that of UAE Team Emirates and Team Total Energies, which use a 28 mm tire mounted to Enve’s rims. There, the tire measures at roughly 30 mm.

The seeming exception to the 28 mm Conti tire choice has to be Movistar, as they use a 30 mm tire across the board. Why’s that? It’s the narrowest tire recommended for use by Zipp with its wheels.

As you guessed, all of these tires are set up tubeless.

Vittoria: Eight Teams

Vittoria  is hot on Continental’s heels with eight teams. There is a bit more variation with this venerable Italian brand with regard to tire width, however.

Teams like EF Education-EasyPost and Arkea-B&B Hotels will almost always go with the standard Corsa Pro 28 mm tire paired with Vision Metron wheels. Astana-Qazaqstan generally specs a 28 mm or 30 mm tire. All of these tires are set up tubeless.

As you’d expect, a 28 mm Corsa Pro tire measures out to just about 29 mm mounted to the Vision Metron wheels.

Lotto-Dstny, however? They use a 30 mm Vittoria Corsa Pro tire mounted to Zipp wheels, again likely due to Zipp’s minimum tire width requirement. Interestingly, they’ve swapped tubeless installation for tubes, a notable change after Thomas De Gendt’s high-profile crash .

Team Dsm-Firmenich Post NL has chosen to use a 26 mm-wide Vittoria Corsa Pro across its rider lineup. The team tells Velo it found it to be the fastest tire in its testing; we suspect it’s the fastest width in combination with Shimano Dura-Ace wheels that feature a somewhat narrower 26 mm external width.

Then there’s Team Visma-Lease a Bike. The team uses a combination of Corsa Pro tires in a 28 mm width or what appears to be an unreleased Vittoria Corsa Pro optimized for 25 mm width rims. It features a 29 mm labeled width and printing on the sidewall indicating its optimization for a 25 mm inner rim width. We wrote more about this tire here .

Outside of Lotto-Dstny, all other Vittoria Corsa Pro tires are set up tubeless.

Specialized: Two teams

The two Specialized-sponsored teams — Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe and Soudal-Quickstep — both usually use the Specialized Turbo Cotton tire. They usually go for a 26 mm wide tire on either Roval’s Rapide CLX II Team wheels or Alpinist climbing wheels with latex tubes. Why? “Because it’s faster,” or so they tell me.

Soudal-Quickstep has started to mix it up a bit, however, with some riders using the Turbo Cotton tires, while others use the S-Works Turbo setup tubeless.

Their 26 mm tires measure to about 27 mm on the rim, based on our calipers.

Schwalbe, Pirelli, and Michelin each have a team

Team Uno-X Mobility is the only team aboard Schwalbe, using the Pro One tire in a 28 mm width set up tubeless.

Lidl-Trek, is the sole Pirelli team, using the new Pirelli P Zero Race TLR RS tire in a 28 mm width set up tubeless.

Finally, comes Cofidis using a Michelin Power Cup 28 mm wide tire, set up with tubes.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. What is the best time to visit moscow.

Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you. Our helicopter tour prices vary depending on the location and the specific tour you choose. We offer a range of options, from shorter budget-friendly tours to longer excursions that may cost more. We have different helicopter models that can accommodate different group sizes. We require a two-passenger minimum for our tours, but our Robinson R44 helicopter can hold up to 3 passengers per flight, while our Bell 206 helicopter can hold up to 6 passengers. We have a large fleet of helicopters and can accommodate groups of all sizes. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway for two or a group tour with family or friends, we can help make it happen. Please note that if your group is larger than the capacity of one helicopter, we can split your group into consecutive flights so everyone can enjoy the experience.

If your flight is cancelled due to weather, we understand that this can be disappointing. However, safety is our top priority and we want to ensure that all of our flights are conducted in a safe and secure manner.

If your flight is impacted by weather, we will work with you to reschedule your flight to the date and time of your choosing. Our team will work with you to find a convenient date and time for your rescheduled flight that works with your schedule.

If you do not have a specific date and time in mind for your rescheduled flight, we will issue a flight credit for the full value of your flight. This credit can be used to rebook your flight at any time and date that is convenient for you.

The Bear Glacier Tour

Bear Glacier is one of the longest glaciers in the Kenai Fjords National Park. Just minutes from the Seward airport, the Bear Glacier Tour is a 30 minute flight. The glacial ice descends in a long sweeping highway of ice to the sea, then ends at a large glacial vivid blue lake filled with icebergs up to 100 feet high. The lake is separated from the Gulf of Alaska by a long beach where local surfers frolic, as much as frolicking is possible in heavy wetsuits and 50 degree water! The flight tour takes in the landscape all around Bear Glacier then works its way over the edge of the Harding Icefield on its way back to the Seward airport. $129 per person   2 person minimum 

The Aialik Bay Tour 

This tour lasts for 45 minutes and takes you over Bear Glacier to the face of Aialik Glacier, a 600 foot dramatic wall of blue ice that frequently calves and splashes down into the ocean bay. Harbor seals lounge on chunks of ice below us. From there you’ll climb up over four thousand feet to the top of the Harding Icefield, a 40 mile expanse of age old ice and snow that fills the high country like a dammed up reservoir of frigid wilderness solitude. Along the way you’ll see Pederson Glacier and Exit Glacier and jagged ridgelines of the Kenai Mountains on our way back to the Seward airport.  $194 per person   2 person minimum 

The Wildlife Tour

The Wildlife Tour is an hour long overflight of several glaciers and the Harding Icefield. Along the way you will almost certainly see harbor seals on ice, mountain goats and bears – sometimes even whales. The hour trip gives the pilot time to scout the animals’ locations and to circle them for pictures. You will see at least Bear Glacier, Aialik Glacier, Pederson Glacier and Exit Glacier.*   $259 per person   2 person minimum

The Northwestern Glacier Tour 

The Northwestern Glacier Tour is an hour and a half long trip that combines all the shorter tours and extends its reach into the fantastic basin of Harris Bay. This region looks like an enormous amphitheater of ice and snow with 5000 foot high walls lined with hanging glaciers. Plus the presence of Northwestern and Southwestern Glaciers. You’ll fly into the basin at 1000 feet or less and fly along the massive vertical granite walls. You’ll see beautiful beaches, vanishing remnants of melted glaciers, golf course like wilderness terrain and jagged peaks and ridgelines different and uniquely scenic from the rest of the Kenai Fjords National Park.  $389 per person   2 person minimum 

Prince William Sound Tour

This tour covers the most scenery and territory. You’ll depart from the Seward airport and spend two hours heading east up the south fork of the Snow River to Nellie Juan Lake and then up to the Sergeant Icefield. Sliding down past massive Chenega Glacier you’ll overfly the village of Chenega Bay which was relocated after the devastation of the 1964 earthquake. You’ll see commercial fishing boats and hatcheries working one of the most productive fishing habitats on the planet. You’ll hear about the intrigue and history of Montague Island and see the entrance to Prince William Sound, pathway of the endless arrivals of oil tankers headed for Valdez. Turning back to the west we’ll cover the glaciers, fjords and Harding Icefield as featured in the other shorter tours.  $498 per person   2 person minimum 

Cancellations & Rescheduling

• Cancellations received by email 30 days prior to the first day of the reservation are charged a $10 cancellation fee and you will receive a refund of 90% of the total amount of the reservation.
• Cancellations received by email 15 to 29  days prior to the first day of the reservation are charged a $10 cancellation charge and you will receive a 75% refund. of the total amount of the reservation.
• Cancellations received by email 14 days to zero days prior to arrival are charged a $10 cancellation fee and you will receive a 50% refund  only   if we are able to rebook   your camping, cabin, fishing, kayaking, watertaxi, shuttle, lunch, or activity. If we are not able to rebook your reservation then no refunds will be issued and. You must call or e-mail Miller’s Landing post date of cancelled stay in order for us to research whether or not your site booked. Sites that were booked of course qualify for the 50% refund, sites that were not unfortunately do not.
• In some situations a raincheck worth 75% of your reservation may be issued at the discretion of Miller’s Landing management instead of the applicable cancellation charge. If this option appeals to you please suggest this at the time of cancellation. Rainchecks are good for one year and may be used for activities, camping or lodging owned by Miller’s Landing or towards the cost of hats, tee shirts, gifts, etc. sold in the Miller’s Landing store or items sold online. For items purchased online the customer is expected to pay for the cost of postage. Rainchecks may NOT be transferred to another person.
• A 100% refund will be issued for any activity that was cancelled due to weather by Miller’s Landing. Miller’s Landing reserves the right to determine weather cancellations. Rain does not constitute cancellations.

Update, Sunday 8 a.m. ET: The cold front has moved through Southeast Michigan with cooler and drier air spreading around the region. Temperatures will continue to cool and cloudy skies will continue throughout the afternoon.

Update, Saturday, 11:15 a.m. ET: The start of the third round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic is delayed an additional 30 minutes. The first tee time is now scheduled for 12:48 p.m. ET. PGA TOUR LIVE coverage will begin at 1 p.m. The final pairing of Akshay Bhatia, Aaron Rai and Taylor Montgomery are set to tee off at 3 p.m. off the first tee.

Update, Saturday, 11:00 a.m. ET: Round 3 has been suspended an additional 30 minutes, with the first tee time set to begin at 12:18 p.m. ET. Preferred lies are in effect for the third round.

Update: Saturday, 9:00 a.m. ET: Round 3 has been suspended and tee times are delayed one hour, set to range from 11:48 a.m. ET to 2 p.m. ET.

Saturday's third-round tee times at the Rocket Mortgage Classic were moved up due to anticipated inclement weather, PGA TOUR Communications announced Friday. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to move east of Detroit Golf Club between 9:30-10 a.m. ET. Tee times are set to range from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. off split tees from Nos. 1 and 10.

Here is a look at the day-by-day weather forecast for the final two rounds:

Saturday: An isolated shower or thunderstorm will remain possible into the early afternoon before drier conditions return for the rest of the day. The cold front may produce an isolated t-storm as it passes tonight. Otherwise mostly cloudy, warm and humid conditions can be expected with highs in the mid-80s.

Sunday: It will be a much cooler and breezy day behind the front with temperatures starting in the low 60s and gradually warming to near 70 degrees during the afternoon. An NNW wind of 10-15 gusting to 20 mph will make it feel cooler at times.

Every tour with Pacific Blue Air is a flight lesson in an open-air light sport aircraft with just you and your flight instructor. What you can see depends on the duration of your lesson from 30 to 90 minutes. From the Hawthorne flight base south of LAX , that's the difference between sticking to beach cities or seeing the entire LA Basin.

This isn't exactly a romantic option since you would be in a separate aircraft from your partner, but it's still a heck of an exciting gift for that special occasion for the adventurer in your life.

You can head up the Malibu coast or inland over Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles . Charters and in-house pro aerial photography and cinematography services are also available.

Orbic Air Helicopter Tours From Burbank

Orbic Tours from Burbank Airport include regular air-only tours over movie studios, Hollywood, movie stars' homes, Downtown LA, or the coast. Ukraine war latest: China and Belarus launch military drills on Polish border

In the wake of Moscow's deadliest airstrikes in Ukraine for months, China and Belarus have started joint military exercises near the Polish border - all on the eve of a NATO summit in Washington.

Russia's deadliest wave of missile strikes in months deployed a "new and noteworthy tactic" to maximise damage, according to war analysts.

Its military launched cruise missiles at extremely low altitudes, giving air defence systems no time to respond before they were within close range of their targets, said the Institute for the Study of War.

Former Ukrainian air forces spokesperson Colonel Yuriy Ihnat said some of the rockets flew at just 50 metres above the ground.

"Russian forces may have innovated their tactics and/or technology somewhat to inflict maximum damage on Ukrainian infrastructure," the ISW said.

"Russia has consistently adapted the strike packages it uses against Ukraine to take advantage of Ukraine's air defence shortages, and the 8 July strikes represent a new and adapted strike package that Ukraine will need to learn to respond to with requisite levels of Western-provided air defence systems."

Kyiv is observing a day of mourning after devastating Russian missile strikes killed 41 people and injured more than 150 others across Ukraine yesterday.

Ukraine's largest children's hospital, Okhmatdyt, was hit in the capital, causing debris to fall into heart patients' open chests in the middle of surgery, said health minister Viktor Liashko.

Young cancer patients had their beds wheeled into parks and onto the streets to continue treatment.

"Among the victims were Ukraine's sickest children," said Volker Turk, the UN human rights commissioner. 

The bombardment struck seven of the city's ten districts, killing at least seven people including two hospital staff members.

Rescuers searched for victims under the rubble of a partially collapsed, two-story cancer wing of the facility overnight.

They formed a line, passing bricks and other debris to each other as they sifted through rubble.

The intensive care unit, operating theatres and oncology departments all were damaged, officials said. 

Kyiv city has lowered its flags and prohibited entertainment events today.

It was just one of five cities attacked in Russia's daylight barrage, which saw 40 missiles kill civilians across the country, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Russia denied attacking the hospital and said the strikes hit military targets.

Back in Russia, and Vladimir Putin has been showing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi around his suburban residence ahead of official talks today.

The Russian president offered Mr Modi tea, berries and sweets and took him on a tour of the grounds in a motorised cart yesterday.

The pair also visited the residence's stable and watched a show with performing horses.

But far more serious matters will be the subject of conversations between the leaders today, not least securing the discharge of Indian citizens who were "misled" into fighting in the Ukraine war.

A top Indian official said last week that fixing India's trade imbalance with Russia would also be top of Mr Modi's priorities.

Mr Modi is expected to seek to continue close relations with Russia, a major defence supplier for India.

India has neither condemned nor condoned Russia's invasion and has instead called for negotiations to end the war.

NATO leaders will be warned of the distinct threat North Korea poses to Europe by deepening military ties with Russia when its leaders meet in Washington tomorrow.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol will warn that Moscow must choose between the two Koreas.

Seoul will decide on weapons support for Ukraine based on how a new military pact between Moscow and Pyongyang plays out, he said.

"Military co-operation between Russia and North Korea poses a distinct threat and grave challenge to the peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in Europe," Mr Yoon said.

"North Korea is clearly a menace to the international society.

"I hope that Russia will sensibly decide which side - the South or the North - is more important and necessary for its own interests."

He added: "The future of ROK-Russia relations depends entirely on Russia's actions," referring to South Korea by its official name, the Republic of Korea.

Russia said it "fully disagreed" with Mr Yoon's comments calling on it to choose between North and South Korea.

Moscow supports building good relations with its neighbours but South Korea has imposed sanctions on Russia while North Korea is a partner, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Russia has previously called South Korea "the most friendly among unfriendly countries", with Vladimir Putin saying it would be making "a big mistake" if it decided to supply arms to Ukraine.

Just days into his premiership, Sir Keir Starmer is heading to the US for a meeting with NATO leaders.

We take a look at why he is taking the trip and what might happen when he is there.

Why is the prime minister going to Washington?

NATO - or the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation - regularly holds meetings where its 32 member countries, 30 from Europe and two in North America, come together to discuss the issues they are facing in the world.

This meeting in Washington is slightly different, however, as it is the 75th anniversary of the founding of the defensive alliance, which came to fruition in the aftermath of the Second World War.

The US Department of State said the meeting would celebrate "the most successful and enduring alliance in history and set the course for the Alliance's evolution to meet future challenges".

What are the issues being discussed?

Top of the agenda will be the ongoing war in Ukraine and the West's support for Kyiv, with the grim framing of the latest Russian attack - this time on a children's hospital, killing at least 41 people.

Ukrainian representatives will attend the meeting for a joint council with NATO, and further commitments to the cause from members are expected to be made.

China and Belarus have started joint military exercises just a few miles from the Polish border.

The manoeuvres, codenamed Falcon Assault, will last until 19 July and are taking place at a training ground near the city of Brest, the Belarusian defence ministry said.

The drills are taking place on the eve of a NATO summit in Washington, where its 32 member countries - including Poland - will meet to discuss further military and financial support for Ukraine.

Remember, Belarus - perhaps Russia's closest ally - allowed Moscow to use its territory as one of the launchpads for its of Ukraine in 2022.

"Events taking place in the world are alarming, the situation is uneasy, therefore we are going to practice new forms and methods of performing tactical tasks," said Major General Vadim Denisenko, chief of Belarusian special operations command.

As part of the "anti-terrorist exercises", Chinese and Belarusian military personnel will work out issues of night landing, overcoming water barriers, and conducting operations in a populated area, the Belarusian defence ministry said.

Chinese troops could be seen disembarking from a plane and offloading equipment in photos it posted on Telegram.

The Chinese defence ministry said Belarus held a "a grand welcome ceremony" for the Chinese troops on Thursday.

"The joint training aims to enhance the coordination capabilities of the participating troops, and deepen practical cooperation between the two armies," the ministry said

It was not clear how many troops were involved in the drills.

Ukraine launched tens of drone attacks on several Russian regions overnight, according to local officials.

One person was killed, while two power substations and an oil depot caught fire.

Russia says its air defence systems destroyed 38 drones, including 21 over the southern region of Rostov and seven over Kursk, both of which border Ukraine.

The deadliest attack was in the Belgorod region, also bordering Ukraine, where a man died, two people were injured and several homes were damaged, its governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

Explosions were also heard in the town of Kalach-on-the-Don in the southern region of Volgograd, according to the Baza Telegram channel.

Firefighters are still battling the blaze at an oil depot in Volgograd, but the power sub-stations were no longer in flames, said regional governor Andrei Bocharov.

"There is no threat to residential buildings," he added.

The Russian defence ministry did not list Volgograd among the regions where drones had been destroyed.

Russian officials rarely disclose the full extent of damage inflicted by Ukrainian attacks. Sky News cannot independently verify these battlefield reports.

Ukrainian attack drones have caused a fire at an oil depot and power substation in Russia's Volgograd, the local governor has confirmed.

Vasily Golubev, said Ukraine launched "tens" of drones into the southern region bordering Ukraine.

"As a result of an air attack in the Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky district, two transformers caught fire at a power substation," Mr Golubev said, adding air defence systems destroyed tens of drones.

Joe Biden has condemned Russia's deadliest wave of strikes in months as a "horrific reminder of Russia's brutality".

He vowed to show Volodymyr Zelenskyy that America's support was "unshakeable" at a NATO summit tomorrow.

The alliance will announce "new measures to strengthen Ukraine's air defences", he said.

"It is critical that the world continues to stand with Ukraine at this important moment and that we not ignore Russian aggression."
