Whether you want classic romance and wining and dining or something off-beat and memorable, you’ll find endless options for a great date night in Los Angeles. Take a look at the best activities for Valentine’s Day in Los Angeles to plan your couple’s night. See a romantic movie Los Angeles is filled with spectacular cinemas that offer new movies and screenings of the classics. For Valentine’s Day, you can snuggle up to a romantic film, such as Casablanca or An Affair to Remember, at one of the city’s historic theaters. You’ll have endless options for movies and theaters in the city. Our choice is American Cinematheque at the Aero Theatre, a set of classic film screenings at the charming art deco-style theater from the 1940s in Santa Monica. Participate in Cupid’s Undie Run If you want to do something fun and give back to the community, why not participate in Cupid’s Undie Run? The hilarious pantless party and mile-long run is an excellent charity opportunity that donates 100% of proceeds to neurofibromatosis research. The idea arose from the fact that neurofibromatosis sufferers are unable to hide their tumors with clothing, so the undie run participants can’t either. In addition to helping a great cause, the run will give you a story to tell for years. Make your own chocolate If you and your partner have a sweet tooth, the best way to spend Valentine’s Day is with a chocolate-making class at Eataly. The Italian marketplace has a variety of unique cooking and food and beverage events, including chocolate-making classes, so you can learn how to craft delicious chocolate and turn it into a top-notch dessert. You could even turn the class into an entire romantic evening out with dinner and drinks for a quintessential Valentine’s Day date. Go on an adult-only scavenger hunt For bolder couples, there’s nothing better than an adult-only scavenger hunt completely guided by nudity. Over 2 hours of scandal and humor, you’ll solve riddles to find clues in the Getty Center’s most scintillating paintings and sculptures. Some of the questions focus on hilarious details like a sultry dog whisper and an ancient game of wife swap. If you answer the most questions right, you’ll gain some fantastic prizes like gift cards and museum merchandise. No previous art experience or nudity required. Solve a murder mystery For a little spookiness on your date night, try the Bloody Valentine Murder Mystery Dinner at Phantom Carriage. The dinner includes cocktails, appetizers, dessert, and a 3-course dinner, as well as an intriguing and interactive murder mystery show. Whether you’ve been together for years or it’s your first Valentine’s Day together, it’ll be fun to work together to solve the mystery and meet new people. The event has the option for dressing up as well, so be sure to dress to the nines to get completely immersed in the experience. Ride in a gondola Couples on a trip to Venice always want to take a romantic gondola ride on the canals. Fortunately, you don’t even have to travel to Venice for the experience, since Long Beach has its own canal system where you can ride a gondola around the island neighborhood of Naples. You can bring your own food and drinks with you, so you can completely customize your romantic gondola experience. For Valentine’s Day, the gondola package includes a romantic red rose and a keepsake photograph. Go salsa dancing Los Angeles is filled with electric Latin dance spots for a fun-filled evening of dance and music. Plenty of clubs have themed dance nights throughout the week for salsa and rumba dancing, such as La Cita and The Granada. You could also visit El Floridita, a Cuban supper club in the heart of Hollywood with salsa dancing multiple times a week. Many of these venues have live Latin music as well, giving you a fully authentic Latin nightlife experience for a date night. Experience Lucha VaVOOM If you’re looking for something truly unique, visit Lucha VaVOOM for a combination of high-octane performances, comedy, and authentic Mexican masked wrestling. The spectacular show is perfect for an off-beat date night, especially if you like cultural experiences like burlesque and sideshow acts. See a romantic movie

Los Angeles is filled with spectacular cinemas that offer new movies and screenings of the classics. For Valentine’s Day, you can snuggle up to a romantic film, such as Casablanca or An Affair to Remember , at one of the city’s historic theaters. You’ll have endless options for movies and theaters in the city. Our choice is American Cinematheque at the Aero Theatre , a set of classic film screenings at the charming art deco-style theater from the 1940s in Santa Monica.

Participate in Cupid’s Undie Run

If you want to do something fun and give back to the community, why not participate in Cupid’s Undie Run ? The hilarious pantless party and mile-long run is an excellent charity opportunity that donates 100% of proceeds to neurofibromatosis research. The idea arose from the fact that neurofibromatosis sufferers are unable to hide their tumors with clothing, so the undie run participants can’t either. In addition to helping a great cause, the run will give you a story to tell for years.

Make your own chocolate

If you and your partner have a sweet tooth, the best way to spend Valentine’s Day is with a chocolate-making class at Eataly .

Go on an adult-only scavenger hunt

For bolder couples, there’s nothing better than an adult-only scavenger hunt completely guided by nudity .

Solve a murder mystery

For a little spookiness on your date night, try the Bloody Valentine Murder Mystery Dinner at Phantom Carriage.

Ride in a gondola

Couples on a trip to Venice always want to take a romantic gondola ride on the canals.

Go salsa dancing

Los Angeles is filled with electric Latin dance spots for a fun-filled evening of dance and music.

Experience Lucha VaVOOM

If you’re looking for something truly unique, visit Lucha VaVOOM for a combination of high-octane performances, comedy, and authentic Mexican masked wrestling. The spectacular show is perfect for an off-beat date night, especially if you like cultural experiences like burlesque and sideshow acts. Some of the special events for Valentine’s Day include Amor Prohibido, or forbidden love, and Pin-ups and Pin-downs, a combination of sexy pin-up style burlesque and adrenaline-fueled wrestling matches. Plan to dress up a little and book early, so you can have the best seats in the house.

Good morning, fellow Escapists, and happy almost-Valentine’s Day. In this edition of Escapes, you won’t find spa treatments, candlelit dinners or any of the usual romantic fare (though these are lovely experiences for Valentine’s Day, or any occasion you feel like treating yourself!).

Instead, you’ll find a desert road trip that veers a little off the beaten path, at least for typical Valentine’s Day travel.

On this journey, you’ll be able to keep away from crowds, as the Omicron variant continues to spread. Be sure to wear a mask whenever you encounter others, and follow all social distancing guidelines.

Where do you enjoy traveling over Valentine’s Day weekend? Let me know , so I can pass your ideas along in a future edition of Escapes.

One more thing, before I jump to the road trip itinerary — as a budget traveler, I really appreciated the latest edition of The Times’ new Totally Worth It personal finance newsletter, which focuses specifically on saving up for big-ticket items (such as a vacation).

In this edition, my colleague Jessica Roy explains, step by step, how she saved up for a family trip to London a few years ago. Especially if you’re planning a pricey trip in 2022, it’s well worth a read (plus, signing up for the newsletter is free!).

Get inspired to get away.

Cider tasting in Julian

Wine tasting in Temecula is a tried-and-true Valentine’s Day activity in the Golden State, and for good reason. But I suggest driving a little farther south to Julian, a town tucked in the Cuyamaca Mountains known for its gold rush history, old-timey main drag and apple orchards.

Julian apples aren’t only used to make its famous pie. On an autumn trip a few years ago, my friend May and I — and her dog Bowie — stopped by Calico Cidery on a whim for a tasting.

We felt instantly comfortable in the no-frills bar area, a world away from fussier tasting experiences, where we sampled a tangy and refreshing flight of ciders. Before we knew it, it was golden hour — perhaps the most beautiful time to visit the ranch.

Calico’s ciders are made by a father-son duo: David Young, an oenologist and fruit science expert, and his dad, Conrad, who has grown apples in Julian for more than three decades. The Youngs use just two ingredients to make their cider: apples, grown on the ranch, and yeast.

The tasting room is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Calico isn’t the only cider game in town. If you’re interested in sampling more cider, consider visiting Julian Hard Cider and Storum Ranch Cider and Wine .

Stargaze in Borrego Springs

Stargazing is a timeless date activity, but it can be particularly difficult in light-polluted cities such Los Angeles, San Diego and beyond.

Fortunately, Julian and its neighbor 30 miles to the northeast, Borrego Springs, are world-class places to take in the wonders of our night sky. They’ve both been named dark-sky communities , the only two in California.

According to the International Dark-Sky Assn. , a dark-sky community is a place that has demonstrated “exceptional dedication to the preservation of the night sky through the implementation and enforcement of a quality outdoor lighting ordinance, dark-sky education and citizen support of dark skies.”

An example of Borrego Springs’ commitment to the cosmos in practice: Residents are encouraged to replace older porch lights with compact fluorescents or LED fixtures.

Not sure where to start your star-seeking adventure in Borrego Springs? The Borrego Springs Dark Sky Coalition lists some of the best stargazing locations here .

A word of caution: The full moon is fast approaching, so fainter stars may be difficult to spot. You may want to plan a return trip when the moon is less than half-full — or even join a Borrego Night Sky Tour , led by astronomer Dennis Mammana. Spots on the tours book up quickly, so make a reservation in advance.

Spending the night in Borrego Springs? There’s really just one place in the remote area that can “promise pampering,” and that’s “handsome, historic La Casa Del Zorro,” writes Times travel writer Christopher Reynolds in his roundup of 10 great California hotel and date ideas for Valentine’s Day.

In addition to luxuriating in the resort’s spa treatments, Reynolds recommends hiking the 3.25-mile Borrego Palm Canyon Trail in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and visiting Ricardo Breceda’s metal animal sculptures along Borrego Springs Road.

Find love in the desert

Ancient Greek philosophers generally thought of “love” in three different ways: eros, agape and philia.

Although Valentine’s Day is typically associated with “eros” (passion, desire, etc.), and “philia” roughly refers to friendship, your next desert destination aligns more closely with the “agape” notion of love. According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy , it’s “the sort of love God has for us persons, as well as our love for God and, by extension, of our love for each other.”

Regardless of your religious views (or lack thereof), it’s hard not to be impressed with the sheer scale and vibrancy of Salvation Mountain — a 50-foot-high hill of painted adobe emblazoned with the words “God is love” that sits in the middle of the desert near Slab City.

You might know it from countless Instagram posts, travel articles or its brief appearance — alongside creator Leonard Knight — in the 2007 movie “Into the Wild.”

Knight spent three decades creating the enormous piece of folk art before his death in 2014 . “I think the whole world is loving me,” he says in the film, “and I want to have the wisdom to love them back.”

Take your time exploring the art’s nooks and crannies, the walls covered with flowers, trees, suns and more.

Salvation Mountain is open from dawn until dusk, and admission is free.

Catch sunset at ‘the end of the world’

It’s hard to imagine an eerier place to spend Valentine’s Day, but Bombay Beach’s memorability is part of the appeal. When you catch a sunset at this former mainstream vacation destination, “the end of the world seems to have arrived already, leaving a ghostly collection of newly minted art, weather-beaten ruins and live-in trailers, tidy and otherwise,” writes Reynolds, who included the Salton Sea community on his list of the 40 best California experiences: Fall edition .

Seventy years after its heyday, Bombay Beach now attracts artists, who are responsible for quirky offerings such as the set of painted televisions and the plane standing on its nose, among other curiosities sprinkled around town. After taking in the art and shoreline during sunset, Reynolds recommends visitors “drive through town again … because several installations are lighted after dark.”

In addition to the Bombay Market and the Ski Inn — Bombay Beach’s only restaurant — there are a surprising number of Airbnb listings . Not sure you’d like to spend the night? You’re only an hour to Coachella Valley, with your pick of resorts and hotels ideal for Valentine’s Day weekend.

TVs are stacked on and around a small brightly painted building. Their screens are covered in bright, swirling colors.

The most romantic Valentine’s Day dinners in Los Angeles

When it comes to reservations, you know it’s a bloodbath out there—so get ahead of the crunch with our favorite V-Day menus across L.A.

Patricia Kelly Yeo

For many restaurants, Valentine’s Day is their Super Bowl—and this year, the Hallmark holiday and big game day are going head to head, with many of the city’s best eateries pulling double duty in order to offer specials and menus for both events, since the Super Bowl falls on Sunday, February 11. In other words, the weekend before Valentine’s Day, when many people choose to celebrate.

Our word of advice? Skip an early celebration and instead dine with your loved ones on Valentine’s Day itself, which falls on a Wednesday this year. (For one thing, you'll be able to enjoy the same menu at Santa Monica's Pasjoli at a discount.) Though you’ll find plenty of restaurants with à la carte menus, our curated list of the best Valentine’s Day prix-fixe menus in L.A. will take further hassle out of planning and choosing.

From romantic hideaways to a handful of the city’s best restaurants, old favorites and newcomers alike, these excellent L.A. restaurants have your V-Day plans more than covered in terms of ambience and food alike—and if you find that your first choice is booked, you’re almost guaranteed to find another just-as-great spot on this list.

An email you’ll actually love

(Note that vegans can’t be accommodated.)

Why you should book:  République has long been one of L.A.’s best restaurants, and though many might have turned towards the newer Manzke and Bicyclette, the charming former Campanile space is still an excellent place in terms of both atmosphere and cuisine to spend Valentine’s Day.

Reservations:  Pre-pay and book online via  OpenTable .

Spago

  • Californian
  • Beverly Hills

Why you should book:   Spago is an icon, and the glitzy 90210 locale will make your partner feel like a million bucks (in other words, within spitting distance of affording a regular-sized home in this city). While we don't think the kitchen will be particularly experimental on a day like Valentine's Day, the Asian-inflected Californian cuisine here never fails to deliver on gourmet ingredients, executed in a delicious way and a perfect fit for special occasions.

Price:   $270 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.

Reservations:   Book online via Sevenrooms . Note that all pre-paid bookings are non-refundable.

Jar Restaurant

Jar Restaurant

Menu: Suzanne Tracht's iconic chophouse on Beverly Boulevard will offer a three-course menu for Valentine’s Day. Start off with New England clam chowder, a Belgian endive Caesar salad or roasted beets  before moving onto Tracht's well-executed takes on rib eye, halibut or braised pork shank. Choose between red velvet raspberry, heart-shaped chocolate raspberry or sorbet for dessert. Jar will also offer half-bottles of Dumangin and Billecart-Salmon brut rosé champagne.

Why you should book: Jar's famously sleek interiors and mood lighting have made it famous through on-screen appearances, including key scenes in La La Land and I Love You, Man , and the modern steakhouse still reads just as luxurious today. The classic cuisine here never fails to satisfy either—and we've been to dozens of steakhouses across town. If you’re looking for an impressive, timeless meal for Valentine’s Day, go here.

Reservations: Book online via OpenTable .

Bicyclette

Menu:  Walter and Margarita Manzke's traditional bistro will offer a six-course Valentine's menu highlighting seasonal ingredients and signature favorites from Bicyclette's regular menu.

Why you should book: We named Bicyclette our Best New Restaurant the year it opened, and while the upstairs tasting menu at Manzke  is great for those who like to go all out on Valentine's Day, the downstairs bistro's  green-and-wood interiors still offer more relaxed, still romantic Parisian vibes. Plus, everything on the menu is delicious and covered in butter.

Price: $225 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.

Reservations:  Pre-pay and book online via OpenTable .

Cara Cara

Menu:  Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne’s rooftop restaurant at the Downtown L.A. Proper will serve a three-course prix fixe meal for Valentine’s Day. Why you should book:  With amazing views of Downtown, Cara Cara is one of our favorite rooftop restaurants in the city. After dark, the space transforms into a moody, dimly-lit restaurant perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Price:  $120 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.

Angelini Osteria

Angelini Osteria

  • Fairfax District

Menu: There may be no more maximalist V-Day prix-fixe menu in town than Angelini Osteria, where guests can choose from 10-plus options for their appetizer, entree and dessert. Each diner also receives a trio of stuzzichino to start the meal of marinated salmon, fregola sarda and chunks of Parmesan in saba, a balsamic-like condiment made from fermented grape juice. For those who prefer to dine outside, this traditional Italian trattoria off Beverly Boulevard also has a quiet, string-lit back patio.

Why you should book: L.A. is a city full of great Italian restaurants, but Gino Angelini’s eponymous neighborhood eatery keeps the mood feeling cozy and casual with excellent service and even better cuisine. If you’re looking for an unfussy dinner that still manages to feel special, this place is it.

Price: $135 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.

Reservations: Book online via OpenTable or call 323-297-0070, extension 1.

Gwen

Menu: Curtis Stone’s Hollywood chophouse will offer a decadent six-course surf and turf menu with menu details still to be announced.

Why you should book: Soft-lit, understated and elegant, the feel of Curtis Stone’s second L.A. restaurant is absolutely made for special occasions like Valentine’s Day, provided you and your date enjoy the taste of high-quality red meat and any and all methods of eating animals.

Price: $195 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.

Reservations: Book online via Resy .

Pasjoli

  • Santa Monica

Menu:  David Beran's Santa Monica bistro is offering two different menus this Valentine's Day: A four-course dinner menu with supplemental oyster and caviar courses for $185 or an $80 drink and snack bocom that includes a glass of sparkling wine with your chose of cheese plate or a slice of gâteau opéra, a chocolate-glazed, coffee-soaked almond sponge layer cake that interperses ganache and buttercream. You can also celebrate one day earlier and get the same dinner menu for $40 cheaper.

Why you should book: It's true, Pasjoli is one of the most expensive French restaurants in town—and the ambience, while charming enough, isn't exactly transportive. Nevertheless, Beran's excellent kitchen churns out some of the city's best cooking for those willing to pay, and the service team makes any night feel special. If your Valentine's doesn't care that much about ambience but appreciates a classical French cuisine, head to Pasjoli.

Price:  $185 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.

Redbird

  • American creative
  • Downtown Historic Core

Menu: Neal Fraser's stunning Downtown restaurant, located in an old Roman Catholic cathedral, will offer a three-course Valentine’s Day tasting menu (with vegetarian options) in Redbird’s main dining room and lounge. Choose from decadent appetizers like shigoku oysters with blood orange migonette to start, plus a rack of Australian lamb with borlotti beans as a main.

Why you should book: The breezily elegant rooms behind a former Catholic cathedral bring to mind romance, and Fraser's cuisine—whether you're doing the prix-fixe or the chef's tasting—wows with plenty of global flourishes whether or not it's Valentine's Day.

Price:  $185 per person for the main dining room prix-fixe.

Dessert consists of flourless chocolate cake. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available.

Why you should book: Beyond its extremely fitting name, the feel of this beautifully designed West Hollywood space turns particularly sultry at night. The excellent Spanish-Mediterranean cuisine and impeccable indoor-outdoor space have earned it a spot on our most romantic restaurants guide , if you're into more of a scene-y atmosphere for V-Day.

For dessert, there's strawberry hibiscus cake.

Why you should book:  If you're looking for a casual, seasonally inspired Italian dinner for Valentine's without leaving the Westside, Milo + Olive is the perfect destination for the holiday. The ambience here is fairly low-key and the delicious cooking never fails to satisfy.

Price:  $105 per person or  à la carte  plus beverage, tax and gratuity.

Gigi’s

Finish your meal with the house sundae, which mixes Nutella ice cream, coffee whipped cream, salted caramel, hazelnuts and kumquats or lemon poppyseed cake with marscapone mousse.

Why you should book:  The jewel box interior transports you to an intimate New York City bistro, while the outdoor patio area offers string lights and plenty of heaters. Plus, the drinks here are top notch. If your date enjoys a scene-y restaurant (or works or aspires to work in the fashion, music or entertainment industries), Gigi’s just might be the place for Valentine’s Day.

Price:  $150 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.

Reservations:  Pre-pay and book online via Resy .

Manzke

Menu:  Walter and Margarita Manzke’s Michelin-starred tasting menu restaurant in Pico-Robertson will offer a multi-course special menu for Valentine’s Day with options for vegetarians and pescatarians.

Why you should book:  With impeccable desserts, flawless service and a wealth of gourmet meat and seafood, this tasting experience is easily one of the most impressive (and expensive) ways to spend Valentine’s Day. Also, Manzke’s brioche with Rodolphe Le Meunier butter is our favorite bread courses of the city’s many tasting menus.

Price:  $495 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.

Il Cielo

Menu:  This Valentine’s Day, the always-romantic Il Cielo will pull out all the stops with fresh rose petals on every table and a decadent three-course meal.

Why you should book:  While the Italian fare here isn’t exactly our favorite, this Beverly Hills icon has long been considered one of the most romantic restaurants in the city. If your Valentine isn’t the type to care about food, but to really, really care about atmosphere, this is the place for you.

Price:  $225 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Visits to L.A.’s Iconic Romantic Film Locations

valentine's day cruise los angeles

As an entertainment capital of the world, it’s no surprise that Los Angeles is home to many iconic filming locations from beloved romance movies. From Pretty Woman to La La Land, Los Angeles invites you to create your own love story in the City of Angels with our romantic film spots as the backdrop.

King Richard

A story of familial love, Academy Award hopeful King Richard tells the true story of Venus and Serena Williams’ father Richard and his role in their iconic tennis careers beginning in South Los Angeles. Many of the film’s scenes were filmed in the Williams’ hometown of Compton, as well as Windsor Boulevard near Hancock Park. Visitors can also book a court at the Burbank Tennis Center where several tennis match scenes were filmed.

Licorice Pizza

Set in 1970s San Fernando Valley, quirky Oscar contender Licorice Pizza was filmed in several L.A. locations. The movie’s “Tail o’ the Cock” restaurant is based on the actual eatery in Sherman Oaks, recreated at the Van Nuys Golf Course for filming. The El Portal Theater in North Hollywood also makes an appearance in the film screening the 1973 James Bond film, Live and Let Die . Another moment in the film takes place by the radio towers in a field off Coldwater and Burbank boulevard, perfect for a casual photo op.

Winer of six Oscars and a beloved ode to Los Angeles, La La Land includes favorite spots for both film fans and locals. Locations include Griffith Observatory, one of Los Angeles’ greatest cultural attractions where couples can experience some of the best views of the city. The Observatory has made cameos in numerous other TV shows and films, most famously in James Dean and Natalie Wood’s Rebel Without a Cause. Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) and Mia (Emma Stone) also visit the historic Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles, housing a vibrant collection of traditional and modern vendors serving up global cuisine perfect for a casual date.

The Lighthouse Café in Hermosa Beach has showcased jazz since 1949, featuring legendary jazz musicians like Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Art Blakey and Cannonball Adderley. Today the club books music from jazz to reggae and rock. The nearby Hermosa Beach Pier where the “City of Stars” scene takes place is a very popular destination for a romantic sunset.

The classic 1978 romantic movie musical Grease starring a young John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John filmed in several locations around Los Angeles. The film opens with shots on one of the region’s most-filmed beaches, Leo Carrillo State Beach, where visitors can experience their own “summer fling” moments. Shots of Venice High School’s classic, Art Deco architecture in the movie have made it widely known as the face of Grease ’s Rydell High. The school is home to two of the film’s most beloved musical moments, “There Are Worse Things I could Do” and “Summer Nights.”

Perfect for a romantic overlook, the film’s Lover’s Lane was filmed at the Bel Air Church on Mulholland Drive offering beautiful nighttime views of the twinkling city lights, while the Los Angeles River played host to the movie’s Thunder Road scenes.

500 Days of Summer

Beloved sleeper hit 500 Days of Summer set its non-linear love story in Los Angeles, with many film locations around the city where Tom and Summer’s story unfolds. Our main characters played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel meet in their office at the Fenton Building, encountering Downtown Los Angeles landmarks including the Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain, Farmers and Merchants Bank Building, the Eastern Columbia Building and the Fine Arts Building, Tom’s proclaimed favorite, throughout the film. The Bradbury Building featured in Blade Runner is also highlighted at the close of the film, now housing the gorgeous Wyman Bar fitting for an exclusive date. These beautiful buildings are perfect for couples to spot while exploring the neighborhood.

Tom and Summer also land at Point Fermin Lighthouse in the film’s wedding scene, as well as visit Broadway Bar and Redwood Bar & Grill for karaoke. Most famously, the film features Angel’s Knoll above Hill Street as the setting for pivotal scenes and conversations, where Tom’s bench still stands. While the bench is currently inaccessible to the public, it remains visible through a chain link fence.

Pretty Woman

One of the most successful romantic comedies in history, Pretty Woman starring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts was a true blockbuster in 1990. Several scenes take place in Beverly Hills, including the iconic shopping spree scenes on Rodeo Drive where couples can take their own shopping trip or find the perfect gift for one another. Visitors can also request the “Pretty Woman table” for a romantic Italian dinner at the stunning Art Deco-style restaurant Cicada, the filming location where Julia’s character famously sends escargot flying across the room at “The Voltaire” restaurant.

Singin’ in the Rain

Often hailed as the greatest musical ever made, Singin’ in the Rain starring Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds is a lighthearted look at 1920s Hollywood. Filmed largely on the MGM Studio lot, now Sony Pictures Studios, Singin’ in the Rain also features the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood as the setting for the story’s silent film premiere at the beginning of the movie as well as the premiere of our protagonists’ first talkie near the end of the film. Then known as Grauman’s Chinese, this iconic setting serves as the backdrop for a key transition in Hollywood film history from silent films to sound as an integral piece of moviemaking. TCL Chinese Theatre is a wildly famous tourist attraction encapsulating Hollywood energy with the nearby Walk of Fame and dining and shopping experiences on Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards.
