Wisin Y Yandel tour 2023 - 2024 announced : The Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel has been making music since the 1990s and their catalogue includes some of the biggest hits of the genre, including "Rakata", "Sexy Movimiento" and "Pam Pam". After almost two decades of collaboration, the artists announced on Monday that they would release La Ultima Misión, their last tour as a duo, which will coincide with a forthcoming album. The tour, produced by Live Nation, marks the last time fans will be able to see them perform together. The tour will take them to 26 cities, starting September 30 at the FTX Arena in Miami, and will include shows in Atlanta, New York, and Houston, among others. The tour will end on December 2nd in the historic Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot in Puerto Rico, one of the most famous arenas for Latin music performances.

At a press conference on Monday, Sony Music Latin also presented Wisin & Yandel with RIAA certifications for their previous studio album Los Campeones Del Pueblo "The Big Leagues", released in 2018. Certifications include "Reggaetón En Lo Oscuro", which was certified five times multi-platinum, "Chica Bombastic", which was certified six times multi-platinum, and "Ganas De Ti", which was certified gold, platinum and 22 times multi-platinum. Wisin & Yandel’s career includes a Grammy Award for their 2009 album La Revolución, and two Latin Grammys for "Best Urban Song" for "Abusadora" and "Best Urban Music Album" for Los Extraterrestres. Both artists have been successful working alone in the past.

Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin Y Yandel’s are going on one final tour in 2022.

The “La Ultima Misión” tour will make two stops in the region later this year. Shows are set for New York’s Madison Square Garden on Oct. 8 and Atlantic City’s Etess Arena at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Oct. 14 .

The tour runs from September through November, and it is the last hurrah for Wisin Y Yandel.

Prior to the La Ultima Misión tour, Wisin Y Yandel are playing Chicago’s massive Sueños Festival on Memorial Day Weekend (May 28-29).

La Ultima Misión officially takes off on Sept. 30 with their first show in Miami .

Huge concerts on the 26-gig tour include Boston (Oct. 15) , Toronto (Oct. 19) , San Antonio (Oct. 29) , Phoenix (Nov. 11) and Las Vegas (Nov. 18) .

The pair will close the U.S. run of the mega tour at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Nov. 26 .

Finally, they’ll return to their home of Puerto Rico for their last La Ultima Misión show on Dec. 2 .

Veteran reggaeton giants Wisin & Yandel have announced their final tour as a duo taking place later in 2022 behind their next album 'La Ultima Misión' . The 25-city excursion kicks off September 30th in Miami and extends through November making notable U.S. stops in New York, Rosemont, Sugarland, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Canadian dates are planned for Toronto and Montreal. Back in 2018, the pair launched their Como Antes Tour which stretched into 2019 and was nominated for Tour of the Year at the Lo Nuestro Awards.

Wisin & Yandel's new album 'La Ultima Misión' follows up 2018's 'Los Campeones del Pueblo' which was certified 4x Platinum (Latin) by the RIAA and features guest appearances by Ozuna , Romeo Santos , Bad Bunny , Maluma , Miky Woodz , Zion & Lennox and Farruko . Their 2007 album 'Los Extraterrestres' won Best Latin Urban Album at the Grammy Awards, Latin Grammy Awards and Lo Nuestro Awards. The Puerto Rican duo formed back in 1998 and consists of Juan Luis Morera Luna ( Wisin ) and Llandel Veguilla Malavé Salazar ( Yandel ).

From the founders of Mexico’s Baja Beach Fest, Sueños made its debut in 2022 with headlining acts J Balvin, Ozuna, and Farruko. Returning acts include Puerto Rican rapper Myke Towers, Dominican dembow purveyor El Alfa, as well as reggaeton pioneers Wisin y Yandel who will be headlining for a second year in a row. 

“We’re thrilled to be coming back to Chicago for our second annual Sueños festival,” Aaron Ampudia and Chris Den Uijl, co-founders of Sueños, told Billboard Español in an email. “Last year was such a moment, you could feel the energy and excitement from fans no matter where you were at in the festival. It just felt like we were meant to be there, celebrating Latin music and culture with Chicago’s thriving Latino community – and this year we’re bringing even more.”

Wisin y Yandel kicked off their farewell tour La Última Misión last year, while showcasing their latest 2022 album of the same name. In December, the dynamic duo broke their own record at Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot (a.k.a. El Choli) with a series of 14 homecoming shows, which included a New Year’s Eve performance, the first time ever the iconic venue held a show on said date. 

Colombian rapper-songwriter Feid, who entered the Billboard 200 chart in October for his successful (and leaked!) LP Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo: Te Pirateamos el Álbum , is poised to make an impact in 2023. Late last year, Feid embarked on his first headlining U.S. tour, produced by Live Nation, selling out numerous dates.

DOWNTOWN — Sueños music festival is back for Memorial Day weekend featuring headliners Wisin Y Yandel, Grupo Firme, Feid and Nicky Jam.

Sueños is set for May 27 and 28 in Grant Park, 337 E. Randolph St.

The full lineup, released Tuesday, also includes reggaeton superstars Ivy Queen, Arcangel and Chencho Corleone.

Other popular Latin artists featured in the lineup are Becky G, El Alfa, and Myke Towers, red hot acts Ryan Castro and Young Miko, and regional Mexican risers like Junior H and Gera MX. The festival will also feature several DJ sets, including Chicago local DJ Miriam, who’s returning for a second year.

Fans can join a waitlist for early access to tickets that will go on sale at noon Thursday. Single-day tickets have not yet been announced.

There are several tiers of festival passes . Guests must be 18 or older to attend:

Two-day general admission: $199 and up

Two-day general admission+ : $329 and up

Two-day VIP: $399 and up

Two-day El Sueño: $999 and up

Sueños, which is Spanish for dreams, debuted in Grant Park ins 2022, attracting 45,000 attendees from across the the country.

Organizers said in a media release Tuesday the festival is planning to “to go even bigger in its second year” with a larger main stage, 20 plus performances and brand new “experiential activations and activities.”

Some of the new features include art installations, a ferris wheel, multiple bars, specialty cocktail lounges and a selection of Chicago’s best Latin food.

Last year was the first annual Sueños Festival . It was hard to beat with headliners like J Balvin , Ozuna , and Wisin y Yandel . Taking place at Chicago’s Grant Park, Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot said, “Chicago is home to one of the largest Mexican populations in the country–making events like Sueños Festival an important opportunity to highlight the culture and the cultural contributions of our Latino community as a whole.”

The lineup for this year has just been revealed and it’s nothing short of exciting. On May 27 and 28, the festival will welcome back Wisin y Yandel, as well as Grupo Firme as headliners. Other acts on the roster include Arcangel, Ivy Queen, Becky G, Nicky Jam, and more.

Wisin Y Yandal is a Puerto Rican male duo who makes reggaeton music. They recently separated in late 2013. Together they produced nine studio albums and separated they've each made two albums each. Their Concert experiences are lively and active and heavily doused in Latin@ culture.

There are also strong influences of Hip Hop and Rap and occasionally rock. They’ve toured with various artists such as Lil Wayne, Elephant man, Don Omar and Daddy Yankey. They’re concerts are also quite scenic frequently using images of current events within and out of the Latin@ community as backdrops to their performances.

They have toured in North and South America and Parts of Europe with hopes of spanning their reach to parts of Africa and even Australia. Audiences of their concerts have largely described their concert experiences as very active and felt very apart of the performance as Wisin Y Yandal are particularly responsive to their fanbase.

They have also had a clothing line released in 2011 in collaboration with Marc Ecko which consisted largely of military vests, headphones, jewelry and jeans. Many of the clothing released was in an attempt to reflect the high energy performances of the duo directly into the clothing line itself.

The concert was absolutely amazing, fantastic, lots of music, Wisin y Yandel deliver exactly what I expected. This show was worth every penny.

The show was supposed to start @8pm. It did not start until 8:45pm, but the wait was worth it.

The reggaeton and Latin trap music festival will celebrate its fifth anniversary in August with a star-studded lineup, while scaling back from two three-day weekends to one

Baja Beach Fest, the outdoor Rosarito Beach reggaeton and Latin trap music festival that debuted in 2018, will celebrate its fifth anniversary Aug. 11-13 in a star-studded but streamlined manner.

The lineup, announced early Tuesday afternoon, includes such major acts as Ozuna, Wisin y Yandel, Feid, Don Omar and Becky G. The festival also includes what is being billed as a “special Sunday set” on Aug. 13 by Tijuana’s brassy Grupo Firme, which last year became the first regional Mexican banda music group to headline a full-stadium concert at Petco Park.

Nearly half of this year’s performers will be making their debuts at Baja Beach Fest, which was launched in 2018 and returned in 2019. It was canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed in 2021, expanding from one three-day weekend to two. It sold-out that year, with daily attendance of 35,000.

Last year’s edition also took place over two consecutive weekends. It was held under relatively peaceful circumstances, despite drug cartel-related violence that prompted the U.S. and Mexican governments to issue a “shelter-in-place” warning that week for Rosarito, Tijuana, Ensenada, Tecate and Mexicali.

When contacted by the Union-Tribune, the promoters of Baja Beach Fest declined to release attendance figures for last year’s event — or to say why this year’s edition is being scaled back to one weekend.

“We’re super excited to be bringing Baja Beach Fest back to the beaches of Rosarito for a fifth year, and very grateful to welcome back San Diegans and the people of Southern California, who have been an integral part in the continued success of the festival since we started back in 2018,” said the event’s co-founders, Chris Den Uijl and Aaron Ampudia, in a written statement.

“This year’s fifth anniversary show will continue to be a celebration of Latin music’s rich history and culture, supported by a diverse community of artists and fans from all over the world. Nearly 50 percent of this year’s lineup is brand new to the (event), and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the festival for the first time.

“We’re also introducing a ‘special Sunday set,’ performed by Grupo Firme, one of the most beloved and vital acts in regional Mexican music. It’s incredibly important to us to showcase the wide variety of Latin music to our fans, but even more so to create an inclusive space for all to experience Latin culture and everything it has to offer. We can’t wait to see you on the beach in August.”

General admission three-day passes for this year’s festival are priced at $329 each, plus service fees. Three-day VIP passes are prices at $799 and $1,499 each, plus service fees.

Skydeck tables, the festival’s priciest option, range from $4,080 for four people to $20,400 for 15 people. Daily skydeck wristbands cost $355 per person. This year, for the first time, the event will offer private Baja helicopter tour for $650 per person.

After over a decade, Don Omar is back in action with Luny Tunes and Wisin y Yandel . On Nov. 2, the hitmakers released a throwback old-school reggaeton banger, “SANDUNGA,” which is part of the upcoming Don Omar Presenta Back To Reggaeton EP.

“Collaborating on this track with Wisin y Yandel and Luny Tunes has been a wish of mine for a long time,” Don Omar said in a press statement. “Not only did we revisit our musical origins, but the outcome speaks for itself. Given our shared history, the creative synergy was seamless. Get ready for ‘SANDUNGA’; it’s the best reggaeton track in recent times.”

He continues saying that with the new track, he showcases diverse music influences that have contributed to the genre’s evolution. “This song not only resonates with its audience, but it beckons them to dance and relish the experience, harkening back to the roots of reggaeton when it was, quite simply, ‘SANDUNGA,’” he said.

The new song starts by echoing Don Omar’s “dale, Don, dale” signature adlib. By incorporating seductive woman vocals with each of the artists’ hard-hitting verses, the OG reggaetoneros delivered a new club-ready anthem that captures the essence of early 2000s reggaeton. It makes sense since the producers Francisco Saldaña and Víctor Cabrera, better known as Luny Tunes, helped both Don Omar and Wisin y Yandel’s careers. Some iconic hits that Luny Tunes has helped produce include Don Omar’s “Dale Don Dale” and Wisin y Yandel’s “Rakata.”

Before this song, Don Omar and Wisin y Yandel collaborated on hits like “Nadie Como Tu” (2006) and “MySpace” (2006). As far as solo work goes, Don Omar recently released Forever King , his first album in four years. On the other hand, Wisin y Yandel released their last album La Última Misión in 2022.

Don Omar, Luny Tunes and Wisin Y Yandel Bring the “Sandunga” With New Single

Have we suddenly been transported back to the 2000s? Looking at the state of reggaetón right now, it might seem that way. From Baby Rasta Y Gringo recently releasing a masterclass in the genre , Chencho linking up with Wisin for the banger "Loco X Perrearte," and Tainy making his teachers proud by continuing to push the limits of perreo, there is plenty of new reggaetón for fans to be excited about. Now, Luny Tunes are back with "Sandunga," a brand new single that dropped on Nov. 2 and reaches deep into their bag of beats to remind you just how big of a role they played in making reggaetón what it is today. And acho man, it's heavy.

While the word sandunga can have different connotations in different parts of Latin America, in Puerto Rico it is an Africanismo that signifies the essence of the party. It is that essential raw, boisterous attitude that characterizes both the music and the people dancing along to it. It's an important term that can't be separated from reggaetón and harkens all the way back to its roots. While artists like Pink Pablo , Gyanma , and RaiNao continue to play with the boundaries of genre and innovate in PR, the island is also experiencing a renaissance of old school reggaetón. And clearly, that's driven by increasing commercialization and a kind of loss of identity.

"Sandunga" is Luny Tunes's way of acknowledging that and is the first track off the upcoming EP "Don Omar Presenta Back to Reggaeton."So, as you can imagine, a song named "Sandunga" has expectations weighing on it. Then, you add the fact that Luny Tunes calls in heavy hitters Don Omar and Wisin y Yandel to deliver on the promise of the anticipated EP. Fortunately, "Sandunga" not only delivers on its promise, it proves that legends never die, and neither does that old school sound.

Right out of the gate, "Sandunga" lets listeners know this isn't going to be another mainstream/pop-e-ton track through its use of some chopped-up samples (in this case from "Sandunga" itself) and a sinister-sounding synth. Once Don Omar comes in with a call-and-response chorus that includes the moaning woman trope so common in 2000s reggaetón, it becomes clear that the perreo vibe is in full effect. For his part, Don channels his rougher persona con la voz ronca, practically screaming into the mic with his aggy voice on full. It makes sense for a high-energy chorus that features lines like "vamos a matarnos pa'l oscuro ," and he keeps that same energy for the entirety of his verse.

Wisin, who has been on a tear as of late, raps like he has something to prove. Over two verses, he melodizes and switches flows and rhyme schemes effortlessly. In between those verses, of course, we get a Yandel bridge and verse where he demonstrates that, when it comes to rhyme and melody, very few can do it better. And while some could argue that no one listens to perreo for the lyrics, these legends find ways to interject freshness into their rhymes, even when singing about parties and women for what might be the millionth time.

Now, let's talk about the bass. To say the bass is heavy is an understatement. Luny Tunes have always loved to utilize multiple dembows throughout a track and "Sandunga" features four distinct ones that I was able to catch: a traditional known by Panamanians as Tumpa Tumpa, one that swaps the snare for a clave, one using only kick drums, and another that extends the usually two hits of snare for three. What's most impressive is the way Luny Tunes are able to take the formulas of yesteryear, a formula that might sound dated in lesser hands, and still uncover layers of depth within that framework.

"Sandunga" isn't an imitation of their early work, nor is its value tied intrinsically to nostalgia and a stroll down memory lane — it's a modern perreo that takes elements of la vieja escuela and evolves them to today's standards.

Is it "the best reggaetón track in recent times" as Don Omar stated while promoting the track? Probably not. But that's a good thing because there has been so much good reggaetón as of late that the competition is just too stacked to back up that declaration. But, while its place in the pantheon of perreo hits is up for debate, "Sandunga" does the most important thing a lead single can do: get fans hyped for what's to come.
